       &nb sp;           ~Happy Birthday Shout 2BB~

Happy Birthday 2BB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to the new Mrs!!! Rivergirl!!!!  So very happy for you.

2BB, you rubbed off a lil' bit, I canned some salsa this weekend...you are a machine girl!  I can't believe how much you have canned, looked at your pics and yoru efforts are a work of art.  So happy that Gustav was merciful.

Rivergirl:  Your wedding is the most uniquely individual ceremony I've ever heard of and one you and your guest will forever remember, not for the expense, but how everyone actually "shared" the day with you and hubby.

DWF: I'm struggling so with this plateau...I'm at that 1 or 2 pounds per month since June and it's disconcerting.  I'm working up a list, I like KK's too, but will adapt for myself.

Jella:  Why do we feel that need to eat out our emotions?  I can't tell you...this weekend I was a mess, pmsing, nibbling on a chocolate zuchinni cake until my nibbles became 1/2 the cake!  Note to self, do not prepare yummy chocolate treats when pmsing!  It's a new month, time to commit to better eating.

To a successful September Gang!!!!

    Why, it's our own canning queen, 2BB!!!!  H A P P Y   B I R T H D A Y chick!!!  Instead of a cake, I'm picturing your loved ones placing a candle on a jar of fresh-canned preserves!

Like Di, your canning is rubbing off on me too!  I have tomatoes and grapes comming out of the xxxxxx, so I decided to put up some tomatoes this weekend.  The grapes have about two weeks to go to maturity at which time I'll make grape jam and jelly.

Di, love that you're doing 'the list.'  One thing I see we have in common that isn't helping either of us is that we aren't getting a full nights sleep.  My doctor said that plays a big role in obesity.

I'm still battling those last 30 pounds with just bare nudges of the scales.  It's so frustrating when I had consisten weight-loss for two solid years and now BAM!  Hardly a budge!

Forks, I hope you enjoy your 30-minute evening walks.  That's how I started my walking routine and I found it to be extremely relaxing.  In the Fall, I like to time it so that I'm getting out before dusk.  Then I can enjoy the pretty Fall colors as the sun sets.  By the way, with a $900 market bill, can I come and eat with you?!!!  LOL  You MUST be buying the really good stuff!  Eating healthy is more costly but I justify it by telling myself that even though the healthy items cost more, I'm not spending any money on fast foods or lots of junk food so it evens out.

Howdy to Jella, VStar, GreenEyes and the rest of the gang.... still trying to catch up on a week's worth of posts!!!

    September Goals:Reflecting on Yesterday

    1. Get into bed before 9.00 (at least 6 nights a week) Umm - good book - midnight was lights out, gotta be good for the next 6 nights!
    2. Walk every morning (at least 6 mornings a week) missed it due to the need to sleep in an extra hour (also missed this morning - so I'll need to do something tonight!)
    3. Do some ab/back strength exercises each day just stretches - actually a bit sore right now
    4. Budget for 1200 cals a day (with one day a week being up to 2000) right on the money @ 1200
    5. Drink at least 2 litres of water a day (limit 1 coffee) peed like a puppy all day!!!
    6. Eat 2 serves of fruit only one
    7. Have vegetables at two meals, at least 5 varieties Yep!  Heaps and heaps of veges - love how little calories they carry
    8. Have 3 meals, 3 snacks every day (a meal must have a protien) Yep - though breakfast was missing a protien (had a english breakfast muffin instead of my usual oats)
    9. Limit my carbs to 2 serves a day breakfast muffin plus some rice with my lunch
    10. Think positive - reflect on the journey. Chatted with workmates about falling off the calorie wagon and they pointed out that i hadn't touched the chocolates we have in the staffroom (one of those school fundraisers full of Freddo Frogs, Cherry ripes etc) so shouldn't beat myself up too much.  They were right - I could have totally lost the plot and didn't.  By the way, those chocolates have been there all year (replenished often as i am surrounded by choc addicts) and i have never ever had one!!!

    HAPPPPPPYYYYYY BIIIIRRRTHDAAAAAYYY 2BB!!!!!!

    Enjoy your pizza!

    Hi back, Jella!

You're the third one of us now to mention sleep.  And I know that Forks has odd hours so she might be a fourth (am I right, Forks???).  Is anyone else seeing a pattern here?

I'm one of those people who stays up to watch the evening News and ends up watching the tube until 11 p.m. or Midnight and then being too wired to sleep.  I KNOW I need a full eight hours of sleep and I KNOW that I need to get to bed before 10 p.m. so, like Jella, I think I'm going to set a September goal to be in bed by 9 p.m. also!!!  Let's see if what the experts say about a good nights sleep is accurate!

Easier said then done for a night owl!  LOL  But I'm going to give it a try anyway!!!

WOW!  So much positive energy flowing in the G4G Hall today!!

RG.... My heartfelt congratulations on your wedding!  It sounds like it was a wonderful and unique event.  We were all in attendance in spirit!

    2bb....  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Di_p... I think your new plan looks excellent.  I know it is easy to get discouraged, but we must keep working at what is important to us.  It just takes a little more imagination when we have so many other things going on as well.

Jella...  I have to agree with the others that sleep is important.  I think getting enough sleep has the added benefit of enabling us to think clearly enough to make good food choices.

I must be one of the only ones here who does not have problems getting enough sleep.  Honestly, I'll pass up almost anything to sleep.  I get a consistent 7 hours per night and sometimes 8.  We are in bed by somewhere between 9 and 10 every night, and up by 5:30.  Of course, I have "friends" who say that makes me a party pooper, but honestly I'm not interested much in what these people have to say at this point.  My health is more important than partying on a Tuesday.

Forks, I was just catching up on posts and saw your comment about 'does anyone want to feel lighter for Christmas or Thanksgiving!'

Yikes!  With the dark, chilly (65 degrees) weather here in Illinois, and your comment, it struck home that we are so close to the holiday season!  How depressing.

I had hoped to be 20 pounds lighter by the holidays but at my slowed-down rate of weight loss, I just don't see it happening.  However, the idea of the holidays being so close is like a kick in the butt to make sure I'm doing what I need to do to eat healthy and get in my exercise!

I don't want summer to be over yet!!!  Frown

    * waves to Great G4G Gang! * Laughing

Going to be busy today, but thinking of good strategies to use and get back to serious weight loss by Saturday? Been on a Maintenance style for a while, with small ups and downs while urgently working... Gotta' get back to my real desire to lose more of this hindering weight! Yell
