Happy New Year Laughing  How is everyone? M&M , where are you? 2bb?? are you around? Boots? how are you doing? Dear Forks, I hope we will see you soon.

Waves to Vstar, Jella, KK and the rest of the gang.

Howdy, strangers!!!!

I'm still here!!!  Thank you, to all of you who have been sending me messages during my last bout with cancer surgery.  I'm happy to say that all looks good for me at the moment.  No more sign of spread but I do have to go back for my annual scan (a five-year journey) in three more months.  They won't actually consider me cancer-free until I've had clean scans for five years.  Just another good reason to stay with my healthy journey.

Speaking of which, having gone through another round of surgery, I wasn't able to hit the gym for a few months while my incisions healed.  For the first time in my nearly three-year journey, I put on a little weight, but I'm back into my routine and hope to have it off along with those last 30 pounds!!!  Can you believe it?  Starting at 400 pounds and now all I have to go are 30 itty-bitty pounds.  But ohhhhhh...... those last 30 are killing me!  Well.... a new year, a new opportunity, and one that I'll take cancer-free, thank you very much!

I haven't had a chance to read everyone's posts for the past few months but will try to scan them to see how things are going.  I hope everyone is doing well.  And again, thank you to all of your for your nice messages.  What a great gang of phenomenal ladies!

H A P P Y    N E W    Y E A R  ! ! ! ! !  May we all have a safe, healthy and productive 2009!

YAY KK is back.... YAY:)))))))))

I can't believe it. Thank God you are fine. I am glad that everything is ok. don't worry about the few pounds, you will drop those very fast. are you back to the gym now? good to hear from you.

Happy New Year 2009.

Hi, Safina, and the rest of the gang.  Yes, I'm back at the gym with a vengence!  Now that my surgeries are behind me, and those food temptations of the holiday are gone, I have a renewed vigor and enthusiasm.

This is the year that I lose the last of my weight and that I add more muscle tone and definition to my body.  Heck, I might even take up participating in some races like some of our other G4G members!  That was one of my goals for last year but then the diagnosis of cancer spread put a halt to that goal.

Looking forward to a healthy 2009.

Have a wonderful weekend, gang.

Hi guys. I understand that you've set up a group - I've asked to join but am still locked out... how does it work?  Do i need to PM whoever set it up?  If so, do you guys know who did???

Started my smart goals thread again for a new year.

Keep smiling!

Hi, Jella.  It's so nice to see another familiar friendly face still on here.  I was gone much too long!

I'm working on my smarl goals too.  I'm bound and determined to make this the year that I reach my weight loss goal.  Health-wise, as long as that darn cancer stays away, I'll be extremely happy!

Was bad tonight with my food intake.  The family got together for dinner this evening and one of the items on the menu was bread pudding.  I can't think of anything yummier then warm bread pudding on a cold winter's night! Thank goodness I had a good workout at the gym today!

KK, it's so good to see you back and beating that cancer yet again!  Currently have a worry with that ourselves.  Hubby went to get new glasses and the optometrist sent him straight to our doctor this morning for a referral to a opthomological oncologist.  Apparently he has a suspicious looking growth on his retina that could be a melanoma - keep us in your thoughts!

I've let some of my healthy habits slip so am focussing on uppint the water, vege and fruit intake... also trying to improve my sleep patterns as I know I'm not functioning at my best.  Next month, I'm setting myself some exercise goals - this year i am determined to make regular movement a habit!!!  wish me luck........

I miss this gang.

2008 was a bad year for me. I hope I will do better in 2009. It is really frustrating because I have gained almost half of the weight back:(

it is an ongoing battle.

Jella, I didn't know there was a group. I hope Forks will allow us:))

Jella, I'll be praying for you and your husband.  It was my dentist, of all people, who found my last lump.  It was overlooked by my cancer doctor and didn't show up in my last scans.  Fortunately for me, my dentist is thorough about checking for lumps in the neck area.

Be grateful that your husband's optometrist is also thorough.

Safina, I know 2009 will be your year!  Just stay away from hot looking, arrogant guys at the gym!  LOL

KK, LOL. sure my dear, I will. in all cases, I don't go there anymore as I am on a medical freeze because of an injury. also, I decided to change scenery and changed the location.

Jella, I hope all is well. good luck with your smart goals.Laughing

Oh my goodness!  Nearly a month since we saw any action from the gang!

I hope everyone is doing okay.  Forks, are you still with us?!!!  I sure hope so, and that everything is going well.

I stumbled across an old picture of myself the other day.  It's me at my heaviest.  It's now posted on my profile page.  Check it out!  Me in a denim skirt and blue polo shirt.  Pretty scary!

I also got brave and posted the 'loose skin' picture of my arms.  You'll see what I mean when I tell you that I work out at the gym a lot and have nice guns, but the loose skin on the bottom part of my arms is icky!

So how is the rest of the gang doing?  Surviving this recession?  I'm hoping to have a job for the rest of the year, but it's pretty scary at my company.   I just have to keep the old adage in mind, 'hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.'

Hello?? I guess I am not the only one who has been away. I am very ashamed to say that I gained 20 lbs back of what I had lost, but starting yesterday I decided enough is enough and began eating better again. I am now only 16 lbs. lighter than what I was on Oct. 10th 2007, but I am still lighter and I will continue to get lighter if it takes me the rest of my life to do it.

I hope everyone is doing well. I will begin walking again once the weather warms a little bit more. Not sure if I will attempt my 10 miles a day again, but I am not willing to say I won't. I know how good I felt, I want that feeling again...soon.

Missed everyone but I was too ashamed to come in and chat.

Hi, 4sq!!!!!  So glad to see you back!

Bummer about the weight gain.  I added a few myself over the holiday but fortunately I was able to get it off again fairly quickly.  I just had to get back into the healthy eating again.......  No more Christmas cookies!!!

But darn, Easter is around the corner.  Darn you, chocolate bunnies, peanut butter eggs and marshmallow chicks!!!

I hope all has been going okay otherwise.

Everything has been going great otherwise. My hubby and I will be heading to our church campground today actually for "winter camp". Funny how it is called winter camp but all weekend it will be hovering around 60 degrees. Not exactly winter temps but oh well. This weekend will be a challenge. 200 teens, snack food gallore, fatty cafeteria food, late night pizza etc. ugh, what a nightmare for healthy choices!! It will be fun though and I am sure I will get far more exercise than I do at home.

Ok I have to drive 2 hrs. tomorrow with three teen girls in my car, maybe I should go to bed. My DH is over on another computer ordering a fishing magazine...ugh!!! That explains where I will be this summer...the local fishin' hole!!
