Everyone is Welcome
Hey G4G gang!
I just wanted to check in, it was very lazy day for me. 2bb this is one reason that I have troulbe eating so many meals--I didn't get out of bed until 10:30am and then I was back alseep by 2pm and just got up at 5:30pm---Sundays are usually my laziest days--but I have decided that Monday through Friday I will eat as close to 6 meal that I can and on weekend I will just relax. Today, I have only gotten in 1 meal. I have slept away my day. It is only 5:45pm but I'm not hungry yet I ate a huge baked potato for lunch. I'm going to go ahead and report my progress. I hope everyone had a good restful day!

Hey ladies!! Here is my report for today. I ate a lil less on purpose b/c I ate soooo much yesterday. Note at the end I have a question about the BURN METER if anyone can help me please??? :)
Total calories in: 1237, total calories out: 2100
I did much better with my water today, I'm sure I had way more than 64 ounces. However I still need to work on my fiber intake. After I have the water and fiber nailed down then I will work on improving my nutrition grade which is never very good.
OK here is my question. On sedentary with my height, age and weight the burn meter tool here says that I burn 1800 calories a day. I add in my activities manually. Today I burned 449 calories in 2 hours of brisk walking outside. So how come my burn meter says 2100 total for the entire day? And I don't mean so far today. It says my total burn is 2100.
If I add my sedentary (1800) to my activities (449) then I get 2249. So how come the burn meter on here says 2100? Anyone know?

OOO!!! I know! I know!
You would have burned X number of calories during that 2 hour period even if you were just laying on the couch. Instead, you burned 449 calories. So the burn meter takes that 449 calories, subtracts the couch calories (2 hours' worth), and what you get is the difference your exercise caused.
So, unless you can burn 400 calories in 5 minutes, it won't make a 400-calorie difference on your burn meter.

EDIT ... see the second post on this subject I just posted!
Congratulations Molly!!
Now I need some ADVICE. I have a dilema. Tomorrow night we have an all night lock in with the youth group, that is my problem. All night with about 20 teens and lots of food. I need to know how should I plan my calories for tomorrow and then be up all night and then what should I eat on Tuesday. I don't have problems eating healthy but I really don't know what to do about how many calories I should eat. I normally eat right around 1,200 but my day usually ends by 11:00 pm. Tomorrow will not end until 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. If anyone has suggestions on what I should do, I really need help. I don't want to eat another 1,200 calories but I kinda will be up that long. ARGGGHHHHH!!!
todays info is as follows:
Nutrition Report
Fat - 23.7% (37 grams)
Protein - 27.4% (97 grams)
Carbohydrates - 49.0% (173 grams)
Daily Sodium Intake - 1,476 mg
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 145 mg
Daily Fiber Intake - 48 grams
Nutrition Grade A
Calories 1,237
At my current weight, I burn 2460 calories per day... or 102.5 per hour.
If it takes me one hour to burn 200 calories, the site's Burn Meter will subtract 102.5 from 200, leaving me a difference of 97.5 calories. (In other words, it means I burned an EXTRA 97.5 calories over what I would've otherwise burned, sitting on my couch!)
BUT, if it takes me only 30 minutes to burn 200 calories, the site's Burn Meter will subtract 51.75 from 200, leaving me a difference of 148.25.
And, if it takes me only 20 minutes to burn 200 calories, the site's Burn Meter will subtract 31 calories from 200, leaving me a difference of 169.0.
In other words, the FASTER you BURN CALORIES, the more "bang you get for your buck!" (It's all good, of course, but from a standpoint of getting to eat more food, faster burned calories give you a greater result in actual calories burned over and above couch flopping.)
So ... be careful when thinking "I burned 200 calories, so I get to eat 200 more calories" -- because you really only get to eat the "extra" calories you burned if you want to keep the same calorie deficit.
Hope this explanation makes sense.

Eat your 1200 before 11pm.
Give yourself a budget of 500 calories for overnight.
Eat 700-1000 (yes, going over a bit) for the rest of the day, if you need that many to make it through.
Keep in mind your Daily Burn rate assumes X numbers of hours per sleep (however many you put in when you first joined), and if you aren't asleep, your metabolism is working at a higher pace ... so "going over" 200-300 calories (total for the whole day) will probably be a wash!
Have fun!

Hooray for Mollywood!! Wouldn't it be kewl if your diabetes goes away??!!
BB -- congrats on your future as a human post-it note. Ah, we knew her when, ay folks??
I had a busy day, such as our fearless leader Forks, so am just getting to post now. Had dinner out of baked trout, asparagus, and many veggies, did my workouts (running plus circuit training), so enjoyed a small piece of caramel cake within my cals for today. Met my future SIL; had some laffs with the family, and a beautiful drive through Kentucky. Then met friends for a 50th birthday celebration, had a turkey burger "through the garden" and some cabbage slaw w/ vinaigrette. All in all a wonderful but exhausting day.

TGIM for you workaholics (guiltily, I resemble that remark!)
SO and I are having a few people over to dinner (grilled chicken and roasted veggies), then watching Lord of the Rings on the big screen TV. He bought some non-alcoholic sugar free concoction for me since I'd like to make my below 200 goal before putting wine back in to my calories occasionally. What's up for NYE w/ all of you?
We spend our New Year's Eve, safely at home. At about 11:50pm, we usually huddle under the dining room table (after placing stainless steel shelves on top of it) for about 40 minutes, waiting for all the idiots to stop shooting their guns off in celebration. People who leave their cars parked outside often find them with bullets through the roofs/hoods.
Seriously. ![]()
Ahh, the joys of living in California where guns and nutballs are plentiful ... and it rains bullets and shrapnel at midnight! (The police cars are all instructed to pull under freeway overpasses for 15 minutes to avoid the hail of bullets.... and out at the Air Base, they have to cease all flying operations until they can check the runways and taxi areas for bullets and casings, which they find EVERY year.)
I understand that in some parts of the US, people go to parties and watch television at midnight .... what a concept, huh?
