Report for January 1, 2008.

1,635 calories. Grade A.

Fat - 20.2% (38 grams)
Protein - 11.7% (49 grams)
Carbohydrates - 68.1% (287 grams)
Alcohol - 0.0%
Other - 0.0%

Daily Sodium Intake - 3,552 mg
Daily Cholesterol Intake - 158 mg
Daily Fiber Intake - 26 grams

Sodiums really high, due to my chicken/vegetable soup that I made yesterday. I don't even add that much salt, so I don't know why it's so high.. I'm not a big salt person or anything.

Calories are a little higher than I wanted also. Those Waffles ended up being more than I expected. I got a Waffle maker for Christmas, so I need to find a low fat recipe for it or something... They have a whole gran recipe. It calls for quick-cooking rolled oats. I have the normal quaker oats for making oatmeal, does anyone know if that's the same thing??

But anyways I still have a 400 calorie defecit according to CC.

I got all 12 cups of water in today and I'm surprised I don't have to pee more.... wierd...

Gosh, this headache will not go away! Tylenol here I come.

I'm going to be getting back on the treadmill tomorrow.

I'm kind of setting a goal for myself to be 195-196 by February 1st. That's only 4-5 lbs, so hopefully I can do it! It would be great to actually be lower that that, but we'll see how it goes. I'm having such a hard time getting out of the 200-201's...

Here's my first report in the New Year

1250 with an A- (peanut butter killed me)

Rode trainer for 30 minutes without my ankle boot! Then I sat on my butt for 2 hours getting ready to go back to work (teacher.)

Hey, Do we get extra burn credit when it is 8 degrees outside? (tee hee)

Just rant about how cold it is, and having to work when it's that cold...!!!! Surprised

Molly says ranting burns calories! Wink

Happy for you about the boot- giving the boot 'the boot' is great!!! Laughing

I didn't eat too good today, had fast food, got a B plus on my nutrition. Tomorrow is a new day--The good news is I bought a 6 piece chicken strip basket and only had 1 chicken strip and a medium fries but I also had a medium blizzard--o'well, I'm excited about eating healthy tomorrow! Hope everyone had a good day!

We poked our noses out into the wind and snow for a bit, just a little workout, nothing big and strenous for NY Day, but then came running home to watch movies and eat leftovers. And go to bed early to snuggle and have a tickle fight.? (we are so happy I'm sure it is annoying to other people, LOL...)

Whoa, I've been out driving already this morning in the snow, the roads are terrible and people are driving like ding dongs (speeding past on the slippery roads, sometimes running into light poles!) I'm safe and sound though, and went out to shovel the walks reel quick as will probably have to do it again this afternoon when clients come over.

A friend made a low-sugar sweet potato and cranberry quiche for the NY party, I will try to get the recipe and post it, so delicious and you could make without a crust easily.

Need to bake some chicken breasts today so will have them in the fridge; also a trip to the grocery this week as soon as $$ comes in (joys of self-employment!)

Big workout this evening; core strength class then 60 minutes on the bike trainer.
Have a good (snow) day everyone!

That was fun, forks! Thanks!!! Laughing

Rehearsals must have been hilarious- and deciding who did what, when, was probably a lot of fun for them! Love the violinist's part, lol! Surprised

Hi all, Just wanted to check in real quick this morning. I only got 5 hours of sleep, it was a very restless night last-night, my ear has been hurting, I think I will give it one more day and see if it passes or if I need to go to the doctor. I have never had any ear problems before so I'm not sure what the deal is.

I woke up this morning with a new eating routine. I drank 16 oz of water this morning right when I got out of bed. Then I cooked 4 egg whites (protein), so I'm starting the day right out with protein. Before I ate that, I drank 8 more oz of water then I ate the eggs (I was really really full) so now about 30 minutes later I'm fixing to eat oatmeal and blackberries.

Plan: Drink 16oz. of water when I first wake up, drink 8oz of water before I take a bite at each meal, Eat protein first off of plate then eat other things-- there is a method to my madness, we will see if it works!

Today: Will get 20 minutes of cardio with personal trainer

Hey all, Just wanted to check in. I just got back from a great work-out with my personal trainer! You are all welcome to read my journals if you like.

Exercise: 20 minutes

Snack: 1/2 cup cottage cheese with 1 cup of heated raspberries

Hey gang just checkin in, a little slow around here today I see!

Lunch: Chicken burger with guacamole, cucumbers & carrots Total calories = 700 cals

Doing great thus far! Hope everyone is doing great!

Hello friends -- Forks -- how's your fiber percentage (if I may); and your "mix" of foods -- you might want to try 25/25/50 fat/protein/carbs. (I am not a big low-carb diet fan for active people, it's the complex carbs you're burning when you exercise! So you need those babies -- fruit, veg, and the grains) And are you doing any weight lifting (some 2.5 lb handweights when you walk might be an easy way to start.) I find the weight lifting can get the losses started again when I'm at a plateau; or pick up an extra yoga class a week; and of course the exercise helps with serotonin levels and mood always. I'll PM you about some places to take yoga if you're interested -- there are lots of classes in the morning, say 9:30 am if you want to get out of the house and check out a supportive group.

I've revised my monthly goal to losing 5 pounds -- I thought I might get to 7 when I started planning, but it's a bit unrealistic without cutting calories further back. And I don't want to get crabby or unmotivated to work out as a result, even if I were to lose two more pounds a month. I'm drawing upon patience and diligence and will work toward the 5-a-month plan. I also believe the CC burn meter over-budgets the number of calories I'm burning for certain workouts; though I'm going to track another month and see how far off it is. If the numbers are true, I should be losing 2 pounds a week, but it's more like 1 pound and change. So if my burn number are off by say 30-35 percent, this makes sense. If this holds true for January, I'll have a trend, if not; I'll up my calories to average 1800+ and see what happens for February. Right now I'm averaging 1700, and next goal is to increase protein and fiber averages for January.

Gosh who knew we'd need all this math and science back in 8th grade???

Good job with the workouts Boots!

Mel -- I think any kind of oats are OK for making waffles, pancakes, bread, etc.? The "normal" oats might be a little chewier, but I tend to like stuff with texture. Mmmm, waffles, let us know how they turn out.

Don't DARE get discouraged, 4sq!!!!!

Wouldn't be the same gang!!!! Surprised

The Nutritionist told me that raising your calories does help some folks break a plateau. She thought my 6 week stall-and-gain! was a plateau and stress combination and mentioned the calorie change. I'd tried it but stress prevented it from working for me at that time.

Been busy here in COLDSouth Mississippi, it was 14 last night, Brrrr!!!!!

4 quarts water! Laughing

Gym day for exercise!!! LaughingLaughingLaughing

Should have ate more, but got too late and protein, etc. was fine.

Forks- I wonder if more fiber would help you? The rec. amount is 20-35g. and the lady told me 35g. She believed I probably don't have a cholesterol problem due to my daily fiber avg. and her father dropped 30 points fast doing it. I've also read that the daily amount of about 25g. causes us to burn 250 calories just digesting it...Surprised

Maybe Molly and I have an extra good thing going for us!!! Munch, munch, crunch!Wink

Does anybody else have any info on fiber? Or try to keep it in a good range? Molly probably beats us all!!! Her changing stats suggest it's working good for her- I wish I could have had tests made to show how much better my health is...it would tell a better story than my scale wants to!!! Yell

Had your coffee yet, Forks??? Wink

I'm really happy with those stats! My fiber is awesome! I did not get my cardio in yesterday, hence the calories being so low. I have a 725 calorie defecit. Plus I got in all 12 cups of water.

Tomorrow's weigh in day for me! I'll be so excited if there's something that has a one in front instead of a 2! Please scale, be nice!
