Me, Too!!! Me, Too!!! Me, Too!!!!!!! Laughing

* very-happy-smiley jumping up and down, waving arms wildly *

I've had a rough holiday time and VERY slow weight loss run, so I've been studying and looking for ways to 'Tweak' my 'Life-Style Plan' for a rational, sustainable, healthy plan to increase my loss rate...!!!

Any suggestions greatly valued and deeply appreciated!!!

My stats, to start off right, (and provide info for advice!)

Started: Early May

* Finished 6 months! yay!!! *

Starting weight: 206.5

Weigh-in for today, with temp. gain: 176.5

Reached: 174.5, for 32 lbs. lost in 6 months.

* Lost 12 in first month, 5 in the second, avg. only 4 a month since! *

Goal weight: 106.5?

Goal for Going for Gold- Below 25% bmi, at least. Cool

Love to finish all the weight, but losing slow!

* Have been 107 once, and still had a small tummy, but did it wrong and lost muscle, too! I'm just guessing my final goal weight, as I'm working with weights and adding strength this time- and I'm 11 years older, lol! Rounding it to 100 lb. goal for now. *

45 years old, 5'2", small frame, half-size petite, Homemaker! Laughing

Raised 4 lovely girls in South Mississippi, USA...

* Where Hurricane Katrina went through...! *

I've been doing 1200-1350 calories daily, with the extra on weight training days, for an avg. of 1250. I've increased it lately due to stress, and watched to see if it helped my loss rate... hard to tell yet, esp. with Holidays being more 'maintenance level', and temp. gain time... Also, exercise has been difficult and adding confusion to the results I'm trying to check on!

My exercise has been weights 3x a week and walking 30 min. most days, and I own a rebounder I've used, too. My cardio is second to my weight work, but I found no real loss increase when I upped the cardio for a month! (Before my life got difficult and hindered me.) I own my own gym equipment, and a Nordic Trac Pro ski machine, so I should find exercise easier to get to...

I've kept an 'A' avg. in nutrition- printing it each month!

I'm tweaking my calories, and getting back to exercise, and joining this, lol!!! Wink If anyone has a suggestion, feel free to share! I'm not going to stop, lol! But... I'd like to do better!!! SurprisedLaughing

Thanks, danceswithforks! I really needed this challenge!!! Laughing

* music plays in background...'We are the Champions'... Go Team! *

Welcome to the new members who joined yesterday and today!!!

As far as yesterday (Nov 30) went. I think my calories were around 1200-1500. I know when I started cooking dinner that I had only 500-600 calories, so it might have been even less than that. Probably more like 1200. I didn't get it counted in because it was all just too confusing and my BIL's were here and one of them was useing the computer. I do know that my protein/fat ratio should have been better though.

Oh, plus I got my 30 minutes or cardio in to!
******************TOAST TO EVERYONE******************

(as we all lift up our bottled water)

Here's to Going4Gold in 2008. To not only going for it, but also to reaching our goals in the upcoming year. To not only enjoy the fruits of our labor, but also to cherish the process that gets us there. May we be an encouragement and inspiration to ourselves and those around us, while silencing the naysayers and critics with both our words and actions. Most importantly, that we may silence once and for all the demons inside us that tell us that we aren't worthy of all that we seek and desire with regards to healthy and happy living.

Cheers!

Here! Here!!! Second that motion!!! wrm2105!

* Is That right? "Here, Here???" I dunno, really! lol *

Love the bottled water! Sparkling is ok today, too, isn't it?

Ain't it great- 6 pages of over 100 posts...on DAY ONE!!!

Just think...! Next year we'll sing "We Are The Champions" with Power and Volume!!!  So Many Winners in this Thread, Already!!! Wow!!!

Can't miss THAT Celebration Party!!! Woo Hooo!!!!

Anybody else got a theme song? Laughing

Take some time out for yourself, Dances! You'll need some rest to be able to keep up with this huge thread you've so graciously created! Glad you're getting 'com-fy' in your new abode! Those stairs will burn a LOT of calories! SurprisedWinkLaughing

Hi everyone!!! Here's my toast:

I am not perfect with all my lumps and spots rough...

But I'm smart and I'm funny -- and that's more than enough!

This is our time so let's ALL strive for the GOLD!!

It's a beautiful sight for the world to behold.

CHEERS EVERYONE!!!

I must admit that I've been feeling a bit down in the dumps the past few days. Not sure why. This always happens to me around the holidays so I will chalk it up to that. I always feel kinda lonely and kinda sorry for myself but esp. around this time of year. *** BIG SIGH ***

I know I have it pretty good. I know I have a lot to be thankful for. I need to try to focus on the good. I haven't been doing well on my eating or exercise (none) the past few days. I am so all-or-nothing. I feel like I need to be perfect and when I mess up, I want to throw in the towel and just give up and think "why bother? I'm not going to be able to do it anyway!!" Blugh. Sorry not to be more motivating this day.

Forks, I'm glad you're getting settled in your new home!!

I'm going to try to think of my own personal theme song.... maybe that will help to pull me out of this slump?

I raise my glass to a better a$$ also. lol

Ok My goals in 2008 are simple.  Tighten up and lose 10-20 lbs.

Why I haven't yet:  I am freaking stuck, people. I have not been able to get lower than 134. I started this site at 141; I am fairly short and distracted; and I have enough other things to do that breaking that plateau seems like a non-sensible dream.

Very well, I accept your challenge.
Minimum goal 125 & Better tone to muscles
More preferred goal, 115 and toned.

Right now, my weight is.....137

By the way, I am kinda short so that is not unhealthy for me; also I have small bone structure.  5' 3.75"

Here's to everyone loving "Fit Me," even though you know "Fat Me" better. Like Stuart Smalley sez, "I'm good enuff, smart enuff, and gosh darn it people like me..." Losing weight puts the real you out there for all to see, you gotta be ready. Let's help each other be ready, then stay where we are our best. And the number one toast of the day:

"Jesus is neat. LET's EAT!"

wrm -- articulate, smooth, good spelling and compassion shining through I'm going to rely on you when I'm feeling pissy/crabby.

DWF -- da bomb. Nuff said! How do you do all your errands and housework while you're typing on the 'puter??

down-in-the-dumps buds, let's move around more. (I have those weighed down blues sometimes myself.) Lift some soup cans. do a little yoga. Dance to ABBA. Walk around the block bundled up. Just move. Really, it makes seretonin, balances the brain, makes the blues go away. If you're blue, let's move.

Here's to the GGG's in our virtual treehouse. All healthy folk allowed.

Hi.. I am Angela (Angie, Ang, Angiepoo, Ang-E pick one or make a new one! Haha!  I have many! Doesn't matter to me.)  I am 5'2" and 185 pounds.  I would like to get in the 120's... I think a good goal would be around 124-125.  That's about 50lbs I need to lose. If my scales are right.. it could be off..I have to get a new one.  But it will record loss or gain for the time being until I can get a better one.

I have been happily married for the past 14 and half years to my highschool sweetheart (okay.. happily most of the time.. haha!) and we have 2 beautiful children.. one boy and one girl.  So I consider myself very blessed and want to be a blessing to them and to others.  I would like to get this weight off because it is a major distraction and depresses me.  I need to live!

To me 2008 is a time of new beginnings.  So this year I would like to be the year that I finally say good-bye FOR GOOD to losing weight.   Lose it all FOR GOOD and never have to go through this again.  To begin to really live and enjoy life!  And become a healthy, active, loving, helpful, Mother, Wife, and Friend who is no longer bound by her issues and can be the me that I want to be and was created to be and like me for the first time in my whole life.  So that's it.. lose weight permanently and learn how to like myself and help others and be the best me I can be for those that I love.  The liking myself is not just an outer thing.. it is inner too.. so that will probably be the big one!

Okay.. that all sounds so... so... hokey.. doesn't it.. but that's what I want!!!  I am dreaming BIG!!

So there it all is laid out there for the world to see.. that's me and what I want.

Don't know how often I will check in here... but I mostly want to be accountable for working out each day.  Kim helps me alot with that!  =)  And I will weigh in every Friday.. so what day do you do it on here??

So far, so good...!

Just came back from making myself going walking with my 4-hoofed exercise buddy, to find rivergrrrl's advice! SurprisedLaughing

I'm 'light-sensitive' and easily depressed in winter's low light, so moving is Great advice for me! It really helps... esp. when I just want to 'hole-up-with-a-book-and HIBERNATE!' There is a name for it- SAD is used I think- but I don't know the actual name...just how it feels!

Anybody else go walking today? BTW- my buddy is a one-quarter-horse, 4-hoof-drive, mini-horse. A pic of him is in my gallery, when he was younger. He's fun to walk with, so he helps me go.

My plans are to get in the gym tonight- with my other exercise buddy... A home gym can be dangerous! Imagine straining to lift two 25 lb. weights over your head, in a bench press position on your back- and seeing a 18 lb. cat running to jump on your chest...! I can't put them down without squashing him- or hold them up for long! Repeated frantic calls for assistance are required...!

He is a nice cat, who is my 'Crunch Buddy', due to his refusal to move from my Ab Lounger when I was ready to use it... Now he's the 'weight' in my 'weighted crunches'- and Loves it!!! He wants to follow me around the room and join in everything I do now, esp. the mat, lol!

I take credit for his much-improved health...He's gone from 18 lbs. and pitifully out-of-shape, to a Very Active 14.4 lbs. (I have a professional, Dr's office scale, so it's accurate.) He's a large boned cat, and still a bit chunky, so we'll keep working out together till he's all the way healthy, too.

Can he join? He should achieve his needed goals this year!!! I've thought of getting his picture up, as he's a great help- except with bench presses!-but I'll need a smaller pixel camera to do it.

Anybody else got a partner-in-health??? Laughing

Okay for today, December 1st!

I'm not exactly sure about the percentages, but anyways...

About 1300 calories. I did good with my protein, but then I think my fat might have been kind of high too.

My burn meter said 2,300 something, can't remember exactly. About a 1000 calorie defecit.

I speed walked on my manual treadmill today for 40 minutes!

Tip to others, don't get a manual treadmill. They really suck! Someday, I'll get a "real" one, until then, I'm stuck with this one!

See you all tomorrow!
Yeah, ittybitty.. I worked out today too.  Not a walk outside.. but I got on the elliptical.  Yours sounds better.  I love your workout buddies.  You should put a pic up of the cat too.  I have some who try to trip me when I do my work out videos and have had them sit on my tummy before when I do crunches.  My dog Shadow used to be a big help with the workout by licking me every time I sat up doing crunches... when he was a puppy and still lived inside!  Haha!  That was fun.  I'd hate to see what he'd be like now!  He's huge!

So check another day off for myself!  I worked out!  Yay!
Melanie, I used to have the manual one too.. Hubby says it made me burn more calories because I had to make it go!  I did lose a lot of weight using one.  So I know they work!  But I do have  a 'real' one now.   =)

Angela, I was thinking it would burn more. I know it wears me out! It's so much harder to run on though, because it's always at an incline and you have to hold on to the bars. Drives me nuts! Mine was really cheap, like $100 maybe... Anyways, I know that the distance, speed and calories burned has to be way off! Like I was on it today for 40 minutes really going at it and working up a sweat and it said I did 1.5 miles! LOL Yeah, right! From someone who used to run outdoors, I know it has to be at least 3 miles! Plus it takes me forever to burn 200 calories, so I just go by what CC says when I enter it in.

Hi everyone!  I consumed about 1200 calories as usual.  I had to clean house today, and then had to go clean our church too with preacherboy and kids.  Finally I was able to get some form of exercise.  I stayed on my feet a lot today so it was a good day.
