Well, who knows how the interview went? It lasted over an hour and involved tests as well as weird questions.  Apparently it takes me longer to find address on maps than the other candidates, they said. (Sheesh, I am not applying for a job as a tow truck driver or cab driver ... be glad I can re-fold the map neatly, people!)  Anyway, who knows how I did? They will let me know by the end of the week ... apparently they are interviewing 20+ people for 2 positions, and 1 of the positions is bilingual (which I am not).

(But I looked cute with my red shoes!)

=^..^= MOLLY

Could I join in?

I'm currently 5'4", 165.5 lbs. I would like to lose 40 lbs total (and weigh 125 lbs), but would even settle for 30 lbs. Losing weight, by all reports, will take longer than average for me because I have hypothyroidism.

CC says I can eat 1250 calories per day to lose all the weight by September 19, but I'm ignoring that date.

I've joined the Guide to Health study (www.guide-to-health.com) to help keep me on track and accountable. It's an 18 month diet and exercise study, so that gives me a good long time to form healthy habits. :)

At this point, I'm working to increase my fiber and protein intakes and get a program in place for working out. It's a huge struggle, because I LOVE to bake, and I LOVE what I bake (hehehe).

My good friend MollyMouser pointed me to this thread, so here's hoping that I can do this. She's been wonderfully encouraging, and very inspiring!

I just wanted to check in real quick! Hi all! Fixing to go to my first spinning class- wish me luck! I will check in later--today has been a record high in fiber for me , I am already up to 52 grams--wow! Ok, I will check back in after the class!
Hi CLB -- let us know what we can call you, and welcome to the G4Gers merry band. Some of us are working for the title of the Slowest Loser -- LOL.  But join us, speak your mind, your joys and concerns, we'll listen and share, and support you and each other. And laff some and cry some too. What is your age, if you don't mind saying?

Yay Molly, making it through, the "new you." You'll find the right match, I am confident. What is that quote, "now, once, boys -- into the fray," or something like that!

Friends, good news, alll these core/flexibility workouts are paying off! I am getting stronger, can do more reps, more quickly. Tonight I was able to do two sets of hip lifts, with one heel on the swiss ball and the other leg held up in the air. It has taken me 3 weeks to do this without a "modified" position. We ran, did lunges, squats, and some killer bunny hops. Funny how something that seems so easy can be so challenging (we're hooked up to the Giant Rubber Bands for resistance the whole time.) It's called the "Jump Stretch" type of workout if you want to google it and see if it's in your area.

I decided not to do a sneaky weigh-in. I just get too obsessed and its better for me to do once a week (gotta fight those perfectionist obsessive tendencies.) I like loving myself and what I'm doing each day, seems more manageable somehow.

Just sayin' hi to CLB!!

Got some strength training in tonight and my DH kicked it up a notch and made me use thicker resistance tubes, therefore causing more resistance. I survived, and since I didn't get a chance to walk on my treadmill today I was glad for the extra effort I had to use. It has been one of those days where it seemed like all I did was run around. I took my mom back to see her surgeon, and she is doing good.  She now has six titanium screws in her back and two rods. Pretty soon if she is not careful her x-rays will look like a rector set.

I may have had a few too many calories today but TOM has arrived and I really feel like I need more. Starved all weekend, not today though!!

Good night, everybody...too late to say much, but wanted to say I'll be back tomorrow and it's been a busy and good day- even though I got "shang-hied" to a dinner out at Peking Garden(s) by 3 daughters and their friends!!! Surprised

Managed well over 9000 steps...and hours standing/walking/visiting Nursing Home friends with my "Working Kitty." Even ran a long way in our big Walmart parking lot with buggy and my laughing-hysterically youngest daughter after dark! I just felt like running, lol!!! Most be Erin's influence, lol!!! SurprisedWink

Won a heart rate monitor on Ebay tonight- finally had enough to bid for one. The Nutritionist really wanted me to get one, and I'm beginning to see how it can tell me how many calories I am really using, and help me exercise effectively so I'm really doing my exercise correctly, as i.e. walking at the right speed- without having to guess and really be wasting weeks and months of time, thinking I'm doing it right- and missing it by not knowing I need to go faster or slower- esp. when going up and down hills, etc. It's a Polar f11, moon glow blue, for women. Seems the best one for my needs... so I'll let ya'll know how it works for me! WinkLaughing

WELCOME CLB!!!! Laughing

Sweet Calorie-Free Dreams, everybody!!! Laughing

Good morning G4Gers!

Welcome CLB!  I'm not on here much but we've got some great people in this group to encourage and just laugh with.

Well, I did it... another 10 gone!  I'm at 179.2!! I love seeing a new number on that scale.  It's not just the scale, I'm wearing a size 16 now... I was a 20 when I started in Nov.  *dancing around the living room in my new jeans to the music of the Wiggles with my 2 y/o*

No clue what I'm going to eat today, I have no plan.  I'm eating oatmeal right now and an orange after that.  Going on a 2 mile walk today but it's not a "brisk" walk because of my old decaying stroller.  I do have to go grocery shopping which is an entire workout by itself with 2 kids and a full cart.

Reading about all of the racing is making me feel like I should run too!  I find myself jogging inside my house just to get from one room to another.  I haven't run since my ACL replacement surgery 1 1/2 years ago, it's probably time I start again... wish I had a treadmill!

Have a great healthful day and pray that I'm good at the grocery store... those places can be EVIL! (especially when kids are with me)

Wow, Forks!!! Surprised

Lol, I WON'T expect you to be early today!!! Wink

Your thoughts sound good, but I've been studying 'super-foods' since Thanksgiving, and feeling GREAT using them... though I LOVE celery- when I take the trouble to chop it to add to my meals, esp. my breakfast sandwich, etc.- it actually isn't as healthy as the complex carbs like the sweet potato I truly enjoy within my calorie 'budget.' Tongue out

I don't feel hungry, and I know my body is being better supported in my long deficit, so my older skin is able to cope with the dryness and shrinking more gracefully...along with  my muscles and bones, etc. Laughing

As you say-- feeling good!!!  It's mentally healthy, and physically I'm also doing well- not even a  yearly cold yet! Studying nutrition lately, I've seen the no-less than 130 grams carbs for brain support... 130-150 being ideal for weight loss. I prefer 150 or a little more, less than 200, almost entirely complex. I don't like messing with brain chemistry...! Carbs fuel the movement of our muscles, too and I'm enjoying my weight lifting muscle growth- a strength and firmness I've never known- without any danger of bulkiness. (I'm not after any manliness, lol!) Surprised

I am a 40 min. 2 mile rate, too! I think the walking sounds great... maybe a heart rate monitor might help you set the correct pace to profit-and-know-it? Pacing myself to avoid over-exertion with a couple hills and hollows is all I know to do, and just walk-like-it's-exercise, lol! I'm really looking forward to a better understanding of how I need to exercise to see a benefit on my scale, lol!!! WinkLaughing

My Nordic Track tried to KILL me with 30 min. before- my heart rate seemed above 190, too! (I had a too-fast heart rate problem in the past- triggered by simply bending over or clearing my throat, etc. It wasn't usually 190! It was bad, but more like 160's!) I'm really curious about what the Polar system will say about that much exertion for me...! It gave me an exercise headache as I did it and NOTHING else ever did that! My fitness will be judged... glad it's not what it was 8 months ago!!! SurprisedSurprisedSurprised

Just some thoughts I've been mullin' over... I'm curious what you're up to come Feb. You won't cut carbs too drastically, will you? That doesn't sound like you, but I can't decipher your plan, yet, lol! Wink

Enjoy your coffee-- whenever you get up and get it, lol!!! SurprisedSurprisedSurprisedLaughing

Need some shades for the sunlight...??? Cool

* I don't wanna' reply...!!!!!

I'm interested in what she's digging up...!!!! * Cool

 Lurking... Laughing

Carbs are 4 cals each... protein is 4 cals each... fat is 9 cals each...

150 carbs is 600 cals, 50 % of my daily 1200.
