Wow everybody is humming.  I guess we are going for Gold here...

coffee with soy, a sandwich, a bowl of Heart to Heart Cereal & soy milk (unsweetened).  a Hot pocket.  a few tortilla chips.  corn on the cob, and a chicken leg.  This is dinner, breakfast, and lunch.

Height 5'3.75" and Acc. to trainer, 46 lbs fat, 92 lbs lean mass.  28 years old.  If any of you keep track of first names, my name is Lou.

Does anyone want measurements or pictures?

Forks, I was sick--doc put me on 10 days of medication but now I have this cough that won't go away--I feel fine, lots of energy, lots of everything, happy mood, just have a lingering cough that won't go away........

Tamleech...your thin girl!  Do you even have more to go?
What is your weight?  Whatever you weigh you look good.

I'm 5'4 and small framed.  I weigh 176.8 right now but have to get under 144 to be considered "normal" and want to get to 130 which is exactly in the middle of "normal" for me.  I have 46 pounds to go to my ultimate goal, but I will be happy after another 30 and "normal".

I think the main thing to remember with BMR and all that jazz is that it really really depends on your body.  I was not doing well on 1200.  I have a very good metabolism that was treated very badly for over a year.  I was eating around 4000 cals per day and my metabolism was fighting the best it could.  Once I hit 208 lbs and changed my diet, I went down to 1200 cals per day and immediately dropped a ton of weight but the deficit caught up with me and made me way too tired and I felt hungry all the time.  Between 1350 and 1500 is good for me and the most exercise I get is a casual 2 mile walk 3x a week (casual because I'm walking with another friend trying to help her get in shape so I'm walking at her pace).  If I ever started a vigorous exercise program I woud have to go up more.  That is just the way my body reacts to calories and burning.  Some people don't need as much.  The BMR I was talking about earlier is your complete-total-resting-like-you-never-got-out -of-bed burn rate being what your body just needs to survive a day without feeling completely tired.  It's different for everyone so you guys might do great at 1200 and just ignore my mindless blabbering on and on! Laughing  I couldn't eat 1200 now and still feel like getting off the couch to take care of the kids the next day.

Hey Boots... aren't you getting over some kind of chest infection thing?  Might it just be your body getting better with the antbiotics and trying to cough bad stuff out??  Either way I understand about not going to work at the hospital because I always appreciate healthy sounding health care workers! LaughingLaughing

Keep in mind that no website or formula knows your exact metabolism, or your body size/shape, or your medical issues, or your precise activity levels, or what medications and supplements you take. Some people have slow metabolisms, some people have fast metabolisms, some people have weird metabolisms.  All they can do is give us a starting guideline for what MAY be our BMR!

CC says my BMR right now is 2400. I think it's closer to 2200 ... because that's what my weight loss reflects. So, at least for me, I am figuring +/- 200 for accuracy when I figure things out.

You are so much more articulate than me!!!  How easy was it for you to type those words and that was exactly what I was trying to say in 5 times as many words.... I'll just shut up now and let you handle the question answering.  Sealed

I agree molly! Thank you so much--I feel like the Burn meter never is right for me! Thank you thank you! Thanks everyone for your help! The coughing is a lot better now! I think that I will be able to go to work tomorrow--Yes, I did/do have a chest infection , I say I did/do because I'm not sure how long it takes antibiotics to work? Who knows but I do feel better and I believe I will be able to go to work tomorrow. I am on target with my calories--only problem is I only have 20 carbs left for the day--o'people how I love my carbs and now my personal trainer is taking them away--I love them--Ok, I'm off to the store to restock on some items . Hope everyone is having a great day!

Well if you go back to the thread that I posted above, everything they are saying makes more sense to me now. The 2000 calories that CC gives as my daily calorie expenditure are what I need to maintain my weight as I am now. I know, everyones like yeah, I already knew that. LOL Then I went to the site that kristinedaqueen gave a link to in that thread. It gives you your BMR AND your calorie needs to maintain your weight. I don't see anywhere that CC actually tells you what your BMR is. Anyways my BMR according to that site is 1730, which means I shouldn't eat less than that, while I'm the weight that I am. And my caloric needs on sedentary to maintain my weight is 2000, same as CC. Which would make sense to me that that is the reason why after about a week of eating around 1500 my matabolism slows. So anyways, I'm going to give that a try and not eat below my BMR.

Did 1hr and 20 min of walking on treadmill plus 30 min of strength training. I am feeling better eating more calories. I know my metabolism must have totally slowed down but hopefully it will start up again real soon. I already have some indications that it is doing better.

Me tired!!! Laughing

Me go now...??? Surprised

(Old joke...)

Been being good... been being busy...!!! Me VERY sore  now, lol!!!

WAY TOO sore to do anything I'd planned today!!! GRRRRR!!!!!! Yell

"Best laid plans of mice and men will often go astray...!!!" Wink

* LOTS of Frightning growling noises... * Surprised

* sigh! didn't work... still too sore to do what I wanted! Bring out Plan B... *

I tried out my new Polar hrm Saturday...Tried it HARD! Was Sooo SORE I couldn't do anything but easy exercise today... 2 days later!

Saturday I did my weight lifting, then mat exercises, then stretches...with my hrm running to watch my heart strain and get an accurate calorie count. I KNEW those squats were cardio for me! The monitor told me to back off- too fast a heart rate! My total calorie burn was 533- about 100 less than CC's tools expected.

Then... I got on my Nordic Track... Surprised

* break for threatening music--danger! * SurprisedSurprisedSurprised

I KNEW that thing has been trying to KILL me!!! The monitor pretty much STAYED on alarm level, beeping at me... My 100% max rate is 175... I reached 174... and pushed above the 3+ mph level I mostly held, to "Go for it," at the end... and achieved 7.2 mph! ( And practically crashed at the end of that! Noisy! Kinda' lost control of the rails...hehe!!!) Wink

I measured myself once before- not knowing what my range should be, and concerned that it seemed awfully high...! With a 10 sec. check- as it fell rapidly- I counted a 190+ heart rate... which is WELL ABOVE a too-fast heart condition I once had... At that time,  I would "Kick-off," into a 160+ range and stay for hours... That problem's been healed for years, thankfully! But I wondered what was safe when I found 190+ trying to just exercise hard...I Thought I was SUPPOSED TO try hard...!!!??? Arrgghhh!!! I needed to know what I'm doing! Surprised

That machine is the only thing that ever gave me an exercise headache... I understand why, now!!! Surprised

I lasted 30 minutes... and thought wonderful thoughts...! Tongue outTongue outTongue out Like, how lovely it is that minutes are 60 seconds long instead of 100... and half minutes are a beautiful 30 seconds long instead of 50! And... quarter minutes...! Aren't they perfect at only 15 seconds long? Not a cruel 25!!! Believe me... I rejoiced  in those things! I was DYING!!! My arms felt like they couldn't keep lifting, lol! I use a firm resistance, arms and legs, cause I couldn't stay on it otherwise-- it's like the balance you need to use to rollerskate-- and I never could rollerskate...! Wink

One leg aways went one way...fast!...and the other leg always went opposite...faster!!! Always!!! Surprised

End of story...my proper heart rate range is 139-152 bpm... My average on the Nordic was 155...to a high of 174...! I burned 379 calories in those 30 minutes of torture! This caused today's pain... No weight lifting... No Nordic Walking today...! YellYellYell

Last, but not least, I got on my rebounder for 100 minutes... expecting little calorie burn, for the monitor steady beeped to show a "too low," reading on my heart rate... I had to concentrate on lifting my knees higher to produce the proper heart rate, but I couldn't maintain that long...

When I finished, I looked at my summary... for a shocking 704 calories...!  My average heart rate was only 120! The highest I could reach was 140- barely even into the 139+ range! I was astonished... Surprised

The end results of my tests/attempted murder was this... 1638 burned calories, in 3 hours and 9 minutes... After CC took out the basic calories for those 3 hours, I had about 1350 extra calories burned Saturday!!! Laughing

AND I LOST NOTHING, LOL!!! Sunday or today!!! YellYellYellTongue out

But I'm SORE...!!! Wink

Today I merely walked-- as a easy choice... but I was growling... unhappy... determined to burn about 500 calories SOMEHOW!!! Yell

Hehe...!!!

Sooo...

* Dangerous music again...!!! * Surprised

I walked my road 3 times!!! That's 2 miles each time... Yep! That's right! 6 miles today! My pedometer is currently reading 18,328 steps... and I was late putting it on...and the night ain't over yet!!! ( I'm planning nothing else, though!) Wink

I REALLY happy about this!!! I didn't expect too many calories, so I tried to boost my heart rate as well as I could and just walk a long walk... 2 hours, 24 minutes... jogged a little at times, upill and down a bit... my avg. heart rate just made 131... below the desired 139+... My highest was 161... And my calorie burn was 1191!!! Surprised

THAT'S why no more  exercise is planned tonight--! I never dreamed a low range walk would burn that much! I had 1020 extra once reg. cals are removed...! I'm testing further to see if I can determine my true daily burn rate... I suspect I use less than the 1740 CC rightfully expects for me...but the last hour shows 150 cals with the elevated rate I'm holding- hours after my exercise! I'll later test stuff that CC has- like 1 hour reading, on the phone, etc. and compare... It's been pretty close so far, so I suspect something is off in my daily sedentary rate...

I'll not  go nuts... I only want to achieve a 2 lb. a week average... and cardio with a heart rate monitor was what the Nutritionist recommended... Today I would have assumed I'd done MUCH LESS... and tried to do more... The hrm will help keep me saner and safer, I believe! Safer, if not saner! Lol!!! Wink

I feel as though I can't EVER catch ONE of our DEAR Gang members...ahem!...guess which!!! But, just a little bit... I may have got just close enough... to, "eat her dust...???" Lol!!! Just Joking!!! That's all I'll ever achieve with THAT girl!!! WOW!!! She's  AMAZING>>>!!! Wink

Therewith, you have my Polar f11 Heart Rate Monitor Report!!! I HIGHLY recommend using one!!! Lol!!! Can you tell??? Surprised

Good Night, Sweet and Healthy, Calorie/fat/carb-free Dreams, Gang!!! WinkTongue outLaughing

Hi, Forks! Laughing

Good Evening!!!

I asked the Nutritionist while I had her... I wanted to be SURE about the 1200 limit... She said 1200...! On my weight lifting days, the 1350 is ok, it makes 1250 on my average daily calories... The extra protein is needed for recovery in rebuilding and growing my new muscle. If I'm on a plateau... higher cals can help some folks... due to stress at the same time, it didn't seem to help me. Tongue out

My future is 1400 if I'm sedentary anyway, so it isn't much of a difference now to stay with 1200, lol! Laughing
