Everyone is Welcome
"Day is done...
Gone the sun...
From the lakes, From the hills, From the skies...!
All is well...
Safely rest...
God is nigh..."
* sigh... loved the bugle playing, "Taps," over the lake at Girl Scout Camp Itta Kana (?), when I was rather a bit younger... Sooo beautiful...! sigh...! Can you hear it playing soft and sweet over the water...? *
I'm through with my exercise today... and, "Day is Done...," came to mind...!
* Whew! *
I started late, but did a warm up with my hydraulic stepper, then Weight lifting--gained ground, woo hooo!!! Then a break to tend to business at supper time, then Nordic Track for 30 min. and cool down, then mat exercises, then stretches-- trying to be good, there, lol! Then visiting with youngest daughter, then 30 minutes plus cool down with rebounder! Did some, "Household Routine--Testing," today with hrm.
I measured 11 1/2hours for a total of 2477 calories burned. My adjusted total for the day was 3380 with 1347 intake. This is a testing period with advice from reliable sources to find my ideal level of calorie in and out balance. Accuracy is the best I can get outside a lab- but my body is still unreliable in behaving properly, lol!!! I'm not trying to disregard CC's guidelines on intake and burn and eat-back, but I'm being guided by a professional as I learn what works for me. She gave me a higher calorie level today- staggered through week, but it is a 1300 average by the end of the week vs. the 1200-then-1250 average I've maintained over the last 8 1/2 months here.
I've got 13,210 steps today! And 5 quarts water-- needed it, lol! Been slow, but really good today! ![]()
I missed a lot in a day and a half! Just caught up on reading. I had an outside day yesterday with the kids, we went to an awesome park for a couple of hours and then all went to eat lunch at McD's (kid's choice day). It was nice!!
Great Job on that brownie Forks! I don't think I could have been so strong when faced with a brownie. That is my weakness, I could eat a whole pan!!!
I missed a kinds of conversations! I think some of you already know this, but I also homeschool. We love it and it's teaching me just as much as it's teaching her!
4sq... please don't get discouraged!! You are working out so much and adding muscle which totally out weighs fat and makes it look like you aren't losing. You are doing a great job, continue on and you'll see the numbers again. Play with your calories until you feel good about them, but continue the exercise. You've been an exercise machine!!!
With eating McD's yesterday and other not great things... I ended upeating 1598 for the day with a HUGE 64 g of fat!!! WHOA!!!
Oh well, today's a new day and boy did it taste good so I don't regret it AT ALL!!
Here's my weigh in:
Jan 19: 178.1
Jan 26: 176.8
Total lost: 1.3 lbs (not bad for a PMS week for me)
My next mini goal has me at 175 by next Saturday, TOM allowing I should be able to meet it.
I am going to be cleaning and packing today. I'm guessing I need more than 1 box packed in order to move, although I have already had to half unpack the one packed box because I unexpectedly needed the items inside. What's the point??
edited to change a date. I put second weigh in as 27th which would be really hard unless I live in Japan! LOL
A bugle sounds...
" Ya' gotta' get up... Ya' gotta' get up... Ya' gotta' get up... It's MORN-NIINNGGG!!!!!! " ![]()
Roosters are crowing... dogs are howling... Everybody wants to kill the bugler...!!! Lol!!! ( And the roosters...! ) ![]()
Good Morning, tamleech!!! ![]()
Didn't remember you home schooled, too! Hope your packing gets better, lol! 1598 sounds pretty good after McD's! A healthy Life-Style hasta' allow for life! ![]()

Going to be busy today-- my weekends are usually busy, so I'll probably Lurk... ![]()
" ATTENTION, PLEASE!!! An IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!!! "
...ahem!...
As I could not sleep last night till around 3am, I waited for my coffee this morning and read forums till it was a proper time to weigh... After blowing nose-- It WAS stuffy!-- and removing glasses-- loved Molly's thoughts on that, lol!-- My scale--Oh, How I LOVE thee-- sooo easy to read with it's sliding bar at eye level...! I'd forgotten how hard a floor scale was to read without shifting weight to look down...!-- Removed glasses...Oh, said that already!-- Further details unavailable... Don't imagine, please!...
...ahem!...
After regaining 1 1/2 lbs. this 2 weeks, I finally reached a new low! 169.7!!! ![]()

The 160's are officially MINE!!! At 5'2" that looks like more than it sounds, and is really slow moving... but my husband thinks I won't need to lose as much as I think I do... which is really encouraging. With my hard work with the Weights, the looking better really is faster! ![]()
YIPPEEEE!!!!!! 160's at last!!!!!! 8 1/2 months from 206.5 on a wittle frame... MUCH better!!!!!!!!!!! ![]()
* back to Lurking... and breakfast!... * ![]()
I noticed someone saying about the 160's being better than their 200's. I am 160.6 in a 4'11 3/4" frame. I can't complain too much because it is getting better since I started out at 188.8. I wish I were taller and then 160 would look great, but on me it is still pretty chubby. I still have 50 pounds to go before I reach my ultimate goal.
As you know, my official weigh-in days are on Saturdays or Sundays ... and this week I selected Saturday and that's the official weight that I record for me. Though my weight loss to date in January has been slower than in previous months, it's still remaining reasonably steady and at a healthy pace ... which will be a nice prelude for February (which has been designated a "Maintenance Month") since I will be out of town for more than 14 days. (Don't worry, I still plan to do my very best to stay on track while out of town!) Anyway ... this week's results show a loss ... and a loss ALWAYS equals a good week, right?
And on a related note, I achieved my exercise goals for every week in January (90 minutes of cardio per week), so starting Monday that increases to 120 minutes of cardio per week for February! (I also work with some weights, too.)
STARTING WEIGHT: 369
CURRENT WEIGHT: 290.8
WEIGHT LOST THIS WEEK: 2.2 pounds
WEIGHT LOST TO DATE: 78.2 pounds
PERCENTAGE OF WEIGHT LOST (of starting weight): 21.1%
WEEKS OF DIETING: 23 weeks
SPECIAL COMMENTS: Started thyroid medication today for under-active thyroid.
NEXT GOAL: 289 = 80 pounds lost
I like how everyone calls you the Boss, Gina.
H - I really find it very interesting about your thyroid meds starting; to see what effect it has on your metabolism,
Molly. I have secretly thought I had a thyroid disorder for some time.
Everyone hang on this weekend. I always bauble on the weekends!
- hugs, Lou

Thanks,
It IS good to be back. I feel that I do better when I have all of you. I didn't lose any weight while I was "away" but I didn't gain anything either. YAAAAY!! I also eat better when I have to write it down. Today I got outside again and walked/jogged for 30 minutes. (she says while dancing!) What a great feeling to be getting closer to normal. I did choose not to take any dogs with me though. If I trip over anything it will have to be my own feet. lol. I also rode my horse for about 30 minutes.
IttyBitty, you crack me up! How do you have so much energy?
Did someone say brownies? (I am proud of you for only eating half) It is so hard to go parties and be good. BTW Pampered Chef is the best. Keep up the hard work, Forks, you're amazing!
Mollymouser, you are my hero! your weight loss is amazing and you are still going strong. Keep motivating us all!!
I only had 1400 cals today and got a B for nutrition even though I had leftover chinese noodles for lunch. Obviously my sodium was way up after that. I have been drinking water like a mad woman. I hope that the scale likes me this week. I am motivated.

Looks like everyone is doing great! Things are good for me. I woke up and ate the wrong thing for breakfast this morning-should have been nutritious but it wasn't--so it's thrown my numbers off for the day! O'well--I will just pick myself up and start over tomorrow--
Exercise: For the first time since summer time and with a little more weight-- I jogged for 2 miles straight--I say that beaming--I made it through-- 2 miles took me 1 hour but I did it!
Nutrition: 1200 cals. B plus
Energy, Skye??? WHAT energy...!!!! ![]()
I just crawled off my Nordic Track after surviving 90 minutes to come find what I've accomplished for the day's goals-- besides killing myself, lol!!!-- to see your post-- !!!!
What is energy...??? Is THAT what nearly got me killed...??? Gotta' watch THAT stuff...!!! It's,"Plum DANGEROUS!!!" ![]()

I conquered the "BEAST!!!" I'm keeping my heart range almost always just where I want it- my range is 139-152 and my avg. was a nice 144! Went above occasionally- highest was 167- and my max is 175. I've been told to push it occasionally to avoid too steady a rate, and it's going great!!!! Woooo Hoooo!!!!! I'm TIRED, lol!!! ![]()
![]()
![]()
I made 2.6+ miles on it, and a shocking 994 cals! I had 870 extra over reg. cals once adjusted- so, with my other activities, I'll NOT be needing any Rebounder time!!!
I never went over 30 minutes before since I bought it from a friend over 4 years ago... and 5 fingers may well be enough to count the times I've been on it, at ALL! It's been waayyy too hard for me... now it's tough but fine!!!
I had a really special Victory today-- if I may Crow with Joy a wittle bit...???
Rivergrrrl... remember my "3-minute Mini-Marathon...???" I thought I COULDN"T finish 3 measly minutes...!!! And NEVER tried again...!!!
Till today...!!!
With the Heart Rate Monitor I knew I could pace myself safely, and go as slow as needed...lol!!! I was sure it would be a good fast fat-level burner... and I'd be able to see my reward in how many cals I burned after I did any of it-- IF I COULD, yet!!!
I turned my hrm on... squared my trembling shoulders...and faced 'em again...!!!
* DANGEROUS music, pleaasseee...!!! *

I survived 30 minutes!!!!!!!! Wooo Hooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
My heart rate was great, avg. low at 128 with highs to 155... with cool down time-- needed,lol!!!!-- I had 272 cals, which was 230 extra for 30 minutes! I'm VERY Happy with my progress... and surprised!!!
I had to wait till nearly dark to avoid the cold rain today... but I got to go outside and ENJOY a nice, cool walk of about 2 miles, too. Low rate with that, I find a good heart range difficult in walking, except for steep graded hills, and I'd done enough high range with the stairs, anyway! ![]()
![]()
I had 140 extra cals for that-- and FUN! ![]()
Pedometer reads over 12,000 now, and will gain some. I know I've made over 5 miles today... over 2.6 on the Nordic... ![]()
Boots-- I CAN'T jog far-- 2 miles...!!!! WOWWWWW!!!! OOWWWWW!!!! LOL!!! ![]()
Water will be a good gallon. Extra cals today! 1450 was what I was told to do once a week, and today's it. I'm showing 3480 for today's burn... to cover tomorrow's rest, too. I'll share that info/advice I got Monday, when folks aren't so scattered for the weekend. Been busy, lol!!! Can ya' tell...??? ![]()
Ain't it great being short, 4sq??? ![]()
Glad you're better, Forks-- I've been Lurking and concerned... Funerals are very powerful on me, too... They make me think about what's really important... Love while you can-- you can't know how much it may matter-- or if you'll get another opportunity! I recently shared at the Nursing Homes I visit, how simple words can last MUCH longer than we realize...! I remember good ones... now DECADES old... and not-so-nice ones, too! Words can share Love... I guess that's why I enjoy 'em, so much...??? ![]()

Fun thoughts I had while walking... ![]()
Did you know there's Scripture that says, "Bodily exercise profiteth little...??" ![]()
Demoralizing...! Especially while you're pushing to exercise hard...!!! ![]()
But... Another Scripture teaches-- If ya' don't work, ya' shouldn't EAT!!!! Lol!!! ![]()
If I don't exercise/work... I don't get to eat much!!! Part of being short, too!! ![]()
Signing off... till a chance to check in tomorrow, I hope! I'm TIRED, LOL!!!!! ![]()
Sweet Dreams, Gang!!! Calorie Free!!! ![]()
just curious what motivates you guys to skip all the junk food you've known to love to be loosing weight? Like is there anything particular or is it the whole aftermath and dreaming of all the things you'd be able to do after weight loss? I don't know I still need time to think about this but yeah I was watching motivating weight loss videos on youtube.com (by a user named aggy something) and it was fantastic even though I was on my butt most of the day after a huge binge totally my cal to like 2,100 and yeah I went to a website to deal with binging and all. I got to sleep now.
see ya guys,

My wonderful DH is taking me out to dinner Sunday night to one of our favorite Basque Restaurants in town. This is sort of exciting for me since it's the first time I've been there in six months! This is a restaurant I used to visit years and years ago when it was located Downtown in an old train station, and then it relocated north about 8 years ago. Our Rehearsal Dinner was at this restaurant in 2003 ... so it really is a special place for us. They serve Basque meals "family style" ... by placing all of the side dishes on the table in serving dishes, so people can serve themselves ... then they use individual plates for the entrees. The main reason we haven't gone in the last 5+ months or so is because I haven't wanted to go places where I didn't know ahead of time the exact calories I'd be eating so I could log, plan and budget .... but we both decided I was ready for this mini dining adventure.
Basque food is the fare of a hard-working people. It is simple, always fresh, and doled out in generous portions. Garlic is the seasoning of choice. One of the fun things about this restaurant is that until we show up tomorrow night, we won't know what the soup is (there is just the one), the salad (vinaigrette dressing already on it, no "dressing on the side" is possible) is always the same, the vegetable of the day (just the one) will be a surprise, as well as what the "side dish" (I am hoping it's not spaghetti and meatballs) will be. However, Ron and I will split my favorite entree (served with rice pilaf which Ron gets) ... two garlic-crusted pork chops (one for each of us!) I am pretty excited! My plan is to enjoy the soup (it's never cream-based), a LOT of the salad, the veggie, and some of the side dish -- depending on what it is... then my pork chop. (Then I get to come home and try to log all of that, what fun, huh?)
My plan is to eat my normal 300 calorie breakfast Sunday, followed by a standard 400 calorie lunch of some sort. (As I sit here Saturday night, I just can't figure out what to have, I am way too distracted by a garlic-crusted pork chop!) That will give me 800 calories for dinner .... or even more if I toss caution to the wind and opt to ignore my 1500 calorie limit for the day and (gasp) go over a hundred calories or two ... I figure I will decide that at dinner time! (Oooooooo..... I feel like such a calorie-counting rebel!)
Happy sigh ... garlic pork chops at my favorite restaurant!!!!
=^..^= MOLLY
