61 pounds gone and no longer obese!

Quote  |  Reply

I am now at a BMI of 29.92. That's overweight instead of obese. It's been a year and three months, but I did it! I still want to get to a healthy weight, but I also like to celebrate the milestones. For those of you just starting....YOU can do it too. It won't happen overnight, but eventually it will.

I wish I'd started measurements when I first started instead of a month in.

I've lost 6 inches from my chest, 10.4 from my waist and 7.5 from my hips.

Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me. :)

That's outstanding! You deserve a major celebration.

Losing at that rate means that you are more likely to make this permanent, how wonderful! Congrats!

Thanks Jannid!

Congratulations!  What an awesome example of perseverance!  Go you!

Yay you!! I am on the same slow path you went on, but it is a great way to let yourself adjust and learn how to keep it off. You are a great example and you look FABULOUS!

Great job! It is so awesome to see your risk level go down. Whoo hoo!!! Next up...mildly overweight and then healthy BMI!

That is fantastic.  Good for you! I hope you feel AMAZING today.  Keep it up!

I'm right there with you at 61 lbs..Doesn't it feel GREAT!!! I don't know about you, but I had a hard time realizing how little I was. One thing that really freaked me out/shocked me was seeing the girls at school who I used to think of as the same weight, and I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but now they just seem so much bigger. Sounds obvious but when you take off the weight slowly, sometimes it doesn't sink in just how much smaller 60lbs is. Also, if you ever want a great motivator, try picking up a sixty lb weight and if you really want, carry it upstairs with you.

Anywho, great job!! Also one of my favorite things was seeing my "Mi" on the Wii get skinner with the wii fit. If you haven't played it, you should it's fun :D

congrats, really, you gave me also inspiration. good for you, buy yorself a good jean:) celebrate:)

Congrats, Jinxozzie! I know just how you feel. It's great to look and feel better. But the most profound benefit for me was lowering my blood pressure through my weight loss. I still have 15 lbs. to go (lost 58 so far), but my blood pressure is now pre-hypertensive (it was really high before at 206 lbs.). I'm now investigating the DASH diet as a maintenance plan, once I get to my goal. If I can get my blood pressure down to normal, with only dietary changes I will be thrilled. Everything else is just cake(low calorie). Keep up the good work.

CONGRATULATIONS!  I am 2.7 pounds away from no longer being obese.  I can't wait to hit that milestone too.

Congratulations, that's fantastic.  Keep up the great work.

that's amazing! I can't wait till my BMI gets down that low.
