How's this for a good breakfast... Cheerios( 1-1 1/2 cups) Milk( non-fat, cup or so) Banana( half of one) and mini glass of orange juice
( I'm 13 female 57)
When I was your age, I would seriously eat an entire box of pop-tarts, 3 eggs sunny side up with about an entire loaf of bread....FOR BREAKFAST!!! If I were to have eaten a breakfast that small at your age I would have died! What time do you eat your breakfast and how long do you wait until you eat again? I would say good choices, just not enough food.
I'm with k-loo - it's a good breakfast, but it may be a good idea to add something, like eating the whole banana, and adding a scrambled or hard boiled egg for some more protein.
OOPS ! HEHE ... I ment 1230 not lunch at 9, lunch at 1230

I was just trying to make a point about eating more for your age. I wouldn't recommend eating as much as I ate and also to make healthy choices. But I'll tell ya, I was one hungry girl back in my day! WAIT...I don't think that has changed!! HAHA I seriously could sit down and eat an entire box of poptarts right now....but I'll just stick to my apple and yogurt! :-)
That's certainly a nice healthy breakfast. As the others said, certainly feel free to add a little bit more on to that (preferably a protein).
It really comes down to how many calories you're willing to spend on breakfast.
What I've finally found that works for me, and keeps me full for a solid 4-5 hours, is a HUGE bowl (maybe 2-3 cups) of cheerios with about .5 cup skim milk, and then I eat a whole hard boiled egg as well as a hard-boiled egg white. Sometimes I'll throw in some fresh pineapple or cantaloupe for kicks and variety. This comes out to about 400ish calories.
Short story: you've got a solid breakfast laid out, just add some protein to it. eat the whole banana, maybe have a larger glass of orange juice, etc.
Happy Breakfasting :)
hey, thats my breakfast every morning(except i use light soy milk), and I"m 15 male 6'0". so i would say that you"r doing well.
1 packet of instant oatmeal, 1 scoop of whey protein, 1/2 cup of frozen bluebrries
tastes awesome and keeps you full for several hours
I think your choices sounds pretty healthy to me. The question is are you hungry. I was bad about not eating breakfast. So I now eat a whole banana with my morning coffee. They have lots of carbs for energy. If you need protien how about a piece of wheat toast with a teaspoon of peanut butter.
1/2 grapefruit
2 slices toast (no butter or jelly)
1/2 cup egg beaters (microwaved for 2 min=scrambled)
black coffee
=around 250 calorie
Is my sodium intake too low?
