Good dress stores for young adults/teens?

Quote  |  Reply

Hello there!
On the 12th of July, my cousin is getting married to a beautiful girl.

I need to find a dress to wear.
It must be dressy and not, for lack of a better word, skanky.

Does anyone know of any good stores for finding dresses to suit a younger style?

The first thing that pops into my mind is Forever 21 but honestly, I hate their styles.  I've found some promising stuff at Charlotte Russe but I think their newer stuff is more along the lines of a grown-up Forever 21.

It really depends on your taste.  Windsor has beautiful dresses around prom season.  I've never been there otherwise, though.
New York and Company has some cute stuff, it's a mature enough for an office enviroment, but younger style and prints.

Also, if you don't mind spending more money...BCBG has some great stuff.

Do you have a Debs?  They have nice stuff for a reasonable price...we have great luck there for event dresses for my teen daughter.

When i was in college, I found some great dresses at Charlotte Rousse, that I still have (and now fit into again!), but I don't know if they've changed to more, as you say, skanky. From what CD said, maybe they have.

Ann Taylor Loft can sometimes have really nice dresses (my favorite dress that I've worn to several weddings is from there), but they usually don't have a huge selection, so if what you are looking for isn't the "in" color or style, you are sol.

Forever 21 usually has really nice, girly and elegant dresses. Charlotte Russe has turned a little cheap and skimpy.

Nordstrom, Macy's, Bebe, Cache all have really nice dresses if you're willing to spend a little extra cash.

Express and New York & Company also have good quality dresses for a reasonable price.

And I believe all of these stores have an online website that you can browse through, but the actual stores usually have a lot more of a selection.

forever 21, definitely. most of their dresses are around $30 and really really cute. there are so many different styles you're practically guaranteed to never see someone wearing your same dress.

definately Debs!

I have an adorable dress from Papaya. They have really fun colors.

Agreed. It looks like clothes for hooking.
The Apt. 9 and Daisy Fuentes lines at Kohl's can be really cute, and not expensive at all.

Ooohh and the new Vera Wang collection is moderately priced and very elegant.

all of my fancy dresses as a teen were jessica mcclintock. they're cute, flirty, fun, age appropriate and tend to be very flattering on many different body types.

they have some stand alone stores, but you can find their dresses at pretty much any department store. and i think they're pretty reasonably priced, usually between $100-250ish. but they're very well made; i still have my bat mitzvah dress from 8 years ago and it's in perfect condition.

I really love Forever 21's dresses. I wish I could afford several they have on their website right now. They're pretty inexpensive and the stuff I've gotten from there has fit really well.

Cache, BCBG, and white house/black market have cute dresses.
That's where I usually get mine for dances =]

I 3rd/4th/whatever Forever 21 (:

Also, my sister works at a RAVE store, which is like a branch of BCBG. At first I thought the clothes were kind of cheap-looking, until she started buying a lot of clothes from there and always came home looking chic and amazing. :D It's a real gem.
