Good non-food treats

Quote  |  Reply

I just wanted to hear other people's non-food treats that they give themselves.

Here are mine:

After a long day, I take a shower.  If I feel like buying myself a treat, I can get a new kind of delicious smelling soap.

Take a walk with my boyfriend.

Rent a movie.

Work on arts and crafts.

For awhile I was trying a different kind of fruit every week.  That was really fun and it was tasty!  I am also a fan of the little box of good chocolate.  YUM

Mine might be strange. After a good road run or an expected drop in weight I reward myself with a 20 minute workout on EA Sports Active for the wii.

After working out with this thing I feel even better than before and have even more energy to do more.

So yeah I reward myself with working out more. It's a drug and I'm addicted!

I like this post!

I buy clothing!

yep.. clothing.. well shoes specifially!!

Ooooh shoes!!!!!  I adore shoes.  I even have a room in my home devoted to shoes...I call it my Shoe Paradise Room. (yes, I realize I am a sick puppy)

This is awful - but for every 10lbs I lose I buy a new lense for my camera...   I can't wait to get to 160 (already have my next one picked out).   When I hit 150 I'm going to splurge as this is a long term goal I've had for years.

Sex and clothes! Ah ha ha, I am such a girl sometimes. But a poor girl, so I shop in Oxfam a lot :)

ooooh clothes!  yes, good one!

And I like the idea about rewarding every 10 pounds!

Shoes & purses.  I'm a bargain hunter and shop the DSW clearance racks, Ross, TJ Maxx.  In order to keep my closet from gaining weight (heh) I donate a like-item to charity.  ie: 1 purse in = 1 purse out.  3 new tops in = 3 tops donated to Goodwill.

Good thread!  I'm going to try bubble baths next since I'm living in the Outback now and cheap shopping is nowhere to be found.

Non food rewards are sooooooo hard!  I love buying new clothes but don't like to do it often.  (No more 18's!)  So I'm waiting until I get that size down to something that's fun to shop for.

Some things I reward myself with now are cd's, body sprays, earrings, bits of makeup . . . stuff like that.  Small things that don't cost very much but make me feel better about myself.

When I get to the bigger mile stones I want to do massages, maybe new walking shoes (expensive) or a new bike (more expensive).  But ya know what?  I'm sooooooo worth it! :P

When I reach a goal, I reward myself with buying sports gear that allows me to do what I like: for example, new running shorts/top, a new tennis racquet, an interval timer for HIIT, running shoes (I really want a pair of Nike+), a heart rate monitor, .. you get the idea.

I also reward myself by doing more activities - things like rock wall climbing, white water rafting, or, when I finish my first 5K (hopefully next spring?) skydiving :)
