What are good foods for gaining weight?
Asked by anonymous on Oct 13, 2009 in Nutrition

I am trying to gain weight but I am not sure of what foods to eat.  Can you help?

Answer

To gain weight, eat extra calories from calorie-dense foods like nuts, nut butters, seeds, dried fruit, and any food prepared with oil or mayonnaise.  For instance, chicken salad made with mayo, a muffin made with oil and a salad with oily dressing are all quite high in calories.  In addition, eat or drink snacks in-between meals and before bed.  High calorie liquids include meal replacement drinks, milks and 100% fruit juice.  In addition, work out with weights to turn some of than extra weight into muscle.  Read more about How to Gain Weight at About.com.
