I would love some opinions on this!! Last night and today at work i ate really bad. My normal calorie limit per day is 1200 and i know i ate way more than that yesterday and again today. Oops!
My question is this: If for the rest of the week (until friday) i eat only 1000 calories, will that make up for my overeating sunday and today? If im supposed to eat 1200 calories a day, than eating 1000 for the next 4 days will save me 800 calories. That has to help make up for some of those extra calories right? Has anyone ever done this? Do you think its a good idea or bad idea???
Bad idea. Women shouldn't eat less than 1200. Your body may go into starvation mode, making it hang on to what you do eat. It slows down your metabolism and when you start eating more, then it won't burn that many calories. You're also setting yourself up for binge eating!
Now that I've got the right answer out of the way... my doctor told me that women shouldn't eat less than 1200 calories for more than 1 day in a row. I wouldn't do it on purpose (some days are just too busy!) because I love food too much and don't want to set myself up for a binge. Have you ever waited too long to eat and when you finally do, you eat too much? If so - not a good choice for you to try it. Just get over you two bad days and move on.
You can't "make up" calories like that. Its not like if you spend an extra 20 dollars on monday, you can spend 20 less on Tuesday to "make it up". Your body needs calories to function, all the time. If you really want to "make up for" calories you've binged on, WORK OUT the day you've eaten the extra!
I peeked at your profile to check and yeah... Really Bad Idea!! In fact it says you work out 6 days a week and chase after a 4 year old.... Your probably already starving yourself.
Bad Idea. If your calorie deficit is over 1,000 a day your probably staving yourself. And it sounds like it probably is. That isn't healthy to begin with.
so... eating even less is a Really Bad Idea. Please check your math... make sure your giving your body enough fuel. And please don't eat less then 1,200. You'll only make yourself sick.
At your activity a few extra calories over the weekend are probably a good thing.

You def want to up the cals in general! I don't know your exact stats, but I'd bump it up to 1600 a day, especially if you are active. And yea, I agree with the others, don't go below 1200 for any amount of time if you can help it, you don't want to starve yourself cuz it's counter productive!
If you feel like you ate way too much one day, just start downing the water and flush it out...get active....even if you can't do a 'workout' even doing jumping jacks or something is a great way to get the heartrate up for a bit!
Bad idea. Eat more.
