Any good movies out??????
I have a blockbuster on line membership and I have rented just about every movie you could think of I rented all of the ones that I like the actor or actresses that I hadn't seen (Julia Roberts, Steven Segual, Gina Davis Mel Gibson), also the series of Ghost Whisper and Army wives. And just about every kids movie there is, most of them are old ones.
We like action-adventure, psychic, (example; Frequency, What lies beneath, second sight etc., romantic comedy, drama, Children.
Don't like Scary movie series, or anything scary like Friday the 13th, Halloween, Chuckie, I know what you did last summer, When a stranger Calls.
I am out of date on the new ones out and get overwhelmed at all of the ones you can rent. Any good ones you have watched lately would be greatly appreciated.
Seeing that you like Steven Segall, you probably won't like the movies I like but I'll suggest some anyways. You can go on youtube and watch the trailers to make a decision yourself.
Slumdog Millionaire, The Constant Gardener, Everything is Illuminated, Amelie, Rory O'Shea Was Here, The Last King of Scotland, Blood Diamond, Shopgirl, Revolutionary Road, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind...
Dark Knight - I'm not a fan of Batman in general, but this one was fantastic. It was the best by far, imho. It made a Batman fan out of me!
Yes, Man - Jim Carrey Comedy
Hilarious!
Step Brothers - Will Ferrel/John C. Reilly Comedy.
Sooooo Funny!
Hancock- Will Smith. Adventure/Comedy/Action Fantastic Movie, imho
Marley & Me - Owen Wilson/Jennifer Aniston It's a romantic comedy/drama mixture. It's owning worthy in my view. It was the sweetest/saddest movie, imo. <3 Touching.
Seven Pounds- Will Smith Drama ![]()
Taken - Liam Neeson Thriller/Suspense. We started watching it very late in the evening. We were worried we wouldn't make it through it. It was one of those movies that keep you awake. Lol!
88 Minutes - Al Pacino Thriller/Suspense.
Righteous Kill - Al Pacion/ Robert De Niro Thriller/Suspense.
Deja Vu - Denzel Washington Action/Romance/Thriller
Premonition - Sandra Bullock Drama/Thriller
btw, I added a couple some older titles below in case you haven't seen them.
The Gift - Thriller/Suspense Cate Blanchett/Keanu Reeves/Giovanni Ribisi/Katie Holmes are the stars. This about a woman that goes missing, everyone turns to the towns Psychic. Not as a murder suspect, but as a clairvoyant.
Kiss the Girls - Ashlee Judd/Morgan Freeman Thriller/Suspense
Double Jeopardy-Ashlee Judd/Tommy Lee Jones Thriller/Suspense

Not a Jim Carrey fan but this made me laugh... until he tried to speak Korean. haha
Dark Night was really good, too. Forgot about that one. Heath Ledger made it fantastic.
I hope that you get a lot of suggestions here. :)
Don't see Marley & Me - The dog dies in the end. You don't see it coming.

Way to ruin it for me - you mean there is a movie about the life of a dog, and the dog dies? Next your going to tell me that the ship sinks in Titanic.

As long as we're pileing it on, Brutus kills Ceasar at the end of season 1 of Rome.
Sheesh. It would be nice not to spoil anyone's suggestions. The OP/others may/may not have seen the movies. There's no reason to serve as a spoiler for others. :) It's a drama/tear jerker. Mhm. That's a duhh moment for all.
People could easily second that fact with an additional warning. That way they caution the OP not to watch it... without too much information. There's no reason you can't contribute to the thread in productive manner. Try suggesting movies that everyone lives happily ever after in the end. :) Or: Offering any suggestions of your own.
I don't get to movies that often, but I enjoyed Slumdog Millionaire and Milk, both of which are out on DVD now. Is Coraline on DVD yet? That was good too.
I think "Milk" is Sean Penn's greatest movie to date. :)

I went to see Marley and Me in the theatre. It was billed as a comedy/family film. It was not billed as drama/tear jerker. On top of that, the reason we went to see the film as a family is because the dog is a yellow labrador. Our dog is a yellow labrador and she has the big blocky head and looks a lot like Marley.
As far as I'm concerned I contributed to the thread in a productive manner by warning someone not to watch a movie where a family pet dies. This movie was in no way billed as drama/tear jerker. Find me one example of a trailer that even hints that this might be anything other than a family comedy.

It's listed as a combo Genre: Comedy|Drama|Family|Romance
I'm also a fan of labradors having had a beloved black lab myself. Um. Come on. You didn't know it'd be sad? Seriously,eh. Marely & Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog is a New York Times bestselling autobiographical book. :) It was made into a quite obvious family dramedy motion picture. It's a duhh moment/ah-haa tear mixture as stated from the start.

I didn't misrepresent the movie to the OP in any way. It's still inconsiderate to spoil movies for others by blurting the end, imho. It's too bad that you weren't aware of it's genre yourself. It's a hilarious/heartwarming-breaking combo. The tear jerking part comes from the drama in the mix. :)

Well you are always right and quite self-righteous about that fact.
I don't go to movie reviews online ever. If I see a trailer I like I go to the movie. I say again this movie was not advertised as anything other than a family comedy. There is nothing in any trailer that I saw on TV or at other movies that gave me any indication of it being a drama.
So DUhhhhhh to you! Enjoy the highness of your horse. Don't fall off and break your crown.

It's simply a heart-warming/breaking and laughable movie. Caution people of your own confusion without spoiling it for them. That's called consideration. :)
Marley should have just lived forever. like Air Bud Golden Receiver.
or a vampire.
Star Trek was awesome.
Xmen Wolverine was pretty good.
Other than that I've only seen kids' films recently...
(for what it's worth I thought the movie version of "Marley and Me" was okay but not great. But I totally LOVED the book. Did anyone really NOT think the dog dies in the end of the movie before they saw it? Seriously?!?!?!!? That just seemed like a foregone conclusion to me... )

I know, right. :) Any favorite recent movie, floggingsully?
Iron Man - Robert Downey Jr That was also a pretty fantastic movie by the way. Action/Adventure/Thriller It was filled with witty/funny remarks/retorts. Gwyneth Paltrow playing Pepper Potts cracked me up.
