The GOOD NEWS Thread!

Hi All!

I am relatively new to this site and I've been poking around for a bit. Nice to meet you all!

I am 42 and I recently had a skin cancer screening that turned out negative! I am SO relieved after a whole summer of staying out of the sun with so much worry. While I had this scare, I put a lot of things in my life in perspective and I've done a lot of thinking. I really do appreciate life a lot more in general. I stopped smoking today, too! Things are really turning around today for me...And this is just the beginning....

Have you recently received some great news in your life that you'd like to share with others? It can be anything from acing a test to losing 5 or 20 pounds or winning a tournament!

The sheep are leaving tomorrow, and for me that is really GREAT news!

Finally got my mum to move back home!!  Not my home but the same city.

What led you to do the cancer screening?

Hi spuckine1-It's nice that some folks still appreciate their parents! I wholeheartedly miss my folks!

I have been sunning and tanning just about every summer of my life and I developed a mole in early of 2007 on my face and it had appeared to be growing. I finally decided to stop worrying and do something about it! I'll never wait so long to have something I'm worried about checked out again.

CONGRATS, altho once again you are spreading happiness. I would watch that, you've been warned.

the sheep- the kids 4-H projects (it is a bittersweet sort of thing for the kids, but I am so ready for them to be GONE!)

We all need to take time to think happy thoughts.

Mine is that I have done most of the things that I had on my list to do today - it's been a long time since that happened!!

it's not just good, it's GREAT that it looks like we may have an early fall this year down here (crosses fingers, knocks on wood). The weather is BEAUTIFUL today.  Two weeks in a row we've had record low temps in the morning and super low humidity (at least for us) which makes 90 degrees actually bearable.

Maybe I'm too jaded - when I see the words GOOD NEWS I automatically think about the suit-clad teen-age boys who ring my doorbell once every two weeks asking if I've heard the good news.

But seriously, and I can say this cause none of you konw me and I really need to tell someone...I'm pregnant! Yay! \o/

Thanks! I'm excited, but I'm trying to keep things in perspective since it's so early.

The new Harry Potter movie is awesome and it totally grasps the themes and emotions of the books - SO much unlike the previous few movies.

And it's almost my favorite season!

2012 is only 3 years away!

And I've also got my shopping all done just in time for Christmas, 2012! YAAY!
