Good Places for Vacation...

Quote  |  Reply

So, I have a non-diet question =)

My 16th birthday is coming up soon, and for my gift my mom said we can go on a really, really nice vacation. She basically said anywhere in America, the Carribbean, or even Europe. I need to come to a decision soon, but I just want some ideas.

Where would be a great vacation for a 16 year old? And no, I don't want to hear the Bahamas or Orlando. I've been to both places about 5 times each. I don't know exactly how many people in my family would be going...but let's say for 3-4 people. Thank you!

A good vacation depends on what you like to do... do you like to have every day action packed with a lot of activities, or do you like to sit on the beach and relax?  I feel your pain with the Orlando thing, I've gone there about 15 times for vacation.  What might be fun is a cruise, where you go to a bunch of different islands.  I went on a cruise with my family last year and it was so much fun!  A great combo of fun and relaxation.

Well, if you've spent a lot of time in Orlando/the Bahamas, maybe Europe would be fun (unless you want to go somewhere in America). My family is going to London this summer because my uncle has always really wanted to go. My friend went to Paris during winter break and she said it was really cool.

If you don't dig going to Europe, I second sirk9211's cruise idea. Cruises are fun b/c you can go to a bunch of places and there's a lot of stuff to do on the ship itself.

Have fun! XD

You could go to .... Moscow or St. Petersburg? =)))

Edit: And don't come to Canada, unless you are suicidal!

I took a trip to Europe when I was in high school.  We went to Belgium, France, and Spain.  I loved it!  Belgium was my favorite.

I loved Catalina Island or Martha's Vineyard is really nice!!!

it totally depends on what you like to do.  If given the choice, I would opt for Eurpoe hands down (although things are pretty expensive with the exchange rate).  Since you like to snowboard, maybe somewhere where you can do that?

The South of France is my favorite place in the whole wide world.
I would vote europe, if you've never been there, although right now the exchange rate is making it terribly outrageous. You may be better off staying in the US - your dollar will go much farther.

Since I see you're from the east coast, I will suggest San Francisco or San Diego! My kids are about your age, and they loved San Francisco.

EDIT: Other ideas outside of the US... mexico? You can usually find an all-inclusive that's not too bad. Go cave-snorkeling - lots of fun!

Or how about Canada? Quebec or Montreal or Toronto? Or Nova Scotia if you want something more outdoorsy. Love Nova Scotia, it's beautiful.
What are your interest?

Do you ski, ride horses, camp, mountain climbing/hiking, shopping, whale watching, sports?

Find a place that you will be able to do things you love.
If I were you I'd go to Europe. I've been to England twice (loved it), France (didn't really like it), Ireland (loved it) and Spain (really loved it). There's so much more to see and learn in Europe than the other choices... unless you're looking for a relaxing, sun bathing type trip - then go for Cozumel during non-spring break time :)
