500,700,1000 ... what is a good range?

I have a question and Im sure that many of you have already answered this but here we go.

At the end of today I will have burned 2550 calories, if i don't go on the bike again.  I have consumed 1839 calories.  Normally my calorie intake should be 1550 but I did a lot of activity today.  So far that leaves 711 calories left over.

And now to my question, finally.  What should be my difference of calorie consumption and calorie burned be?  Should I have a difference of 500, 700 or a 1000 cals?  Im thinking that, as long as Im not hungry, max is 700 and min is 500?!  I don't want to be starving myself but I would still like to lose weight.

Im about 5'4", current weight 148.4, female.

Thanks
