Hey everyone!

I bought some ground turkey a few days ago and I want to make something out of it before it goes bad! Please post your recipes!

Thank you

I add some garlic and onion cook it up and add it to a tomato paste with some herbs added and then put it over some whole wheat pasta :)

Here's a dish my mother always makes, and I've recently started making it myself with my own twists.  It's soup-like, but it's not a soup:

  • 1 package ground turkey
  • 1.5 pound of chicken breasts - bone in
  • 3 cans chicken broth
  • 2 large carrots, sliced diagonally
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 large zucchini, sliced diagonally
  • 2 yellow squash, sliced diagonally
  • rosemary, oregano, pepper to taste
  1. Season turkey with rosemary, oregano, pepper.  Make 1 inch meatballs. Set aside.
  2. Spray large pot with pam.  Brown chicken on the outside. Set aside.
  3. Re-spray with Pam.  Cook onions until light brown.
  4. Add meatballs, chicken broth and browned chicken to onions.
  5. Simmer for 1 hour.

Serve over cous-cous, rice, or other grains.  The broth gets a really nice flavor, so make sure to spoon some on top.

I use ground turkey in any thing I would make with ground beef.  When I use it in spaghetti and meatloaf my husband usually doesn't even know it.

Turkey Noodle Casserole - 6 to 8 servings.

Saute the turkey with about a cup combined, chopped onions, celery and grated carrots, until the turkey is browned and the vegetables are soft.  Season to taste with salt, pepper and poultry seasoning (sage & thyme)
Cook medium width egg noodles to yield about 2 cups
Thaw a cup of frozen baby peas
Season 2 cups of Greek style, fat free yogurt with salt, pepper and poultry seasoning to taste.
Mix it all together and put it in a casserole dish. Top with bread crumbs and bake at 350 F unti the top is golden, about 15 to 20 minutes.

I make chili and spaghetti with ground turkey instead of ground beef and no one in the family has known the difference.
