Any good snack ideas to curb the chocolate cravings?

Sometimes when I crave something sweet, especially chocolate, it's all I think about until I get it. Are there any snacks you find good enough to curb this craving?

Yogurt with fiber one cereal..Its sweet and filling..

Yes, that's one of my favorites. :)

Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches - 140 calories, with some fiber and protein

Individual microwave brownie - 3T boxed brownie mix + 1T & 1t water, mix well, microwave for 30-45 seconds.  Warm, gooey and chocolatey (it is a bit softer than the traditional brownie - similar to Betty Crocker's Warm Delights) - about 100 calories

Sugar Free chocolate pudding made with skim milk - I think it is about 120 calories per cup (don't remember for sure)

Lots of people eat a square or two of Dark Chocolate.

usually the only thing that does it for me is a little dark chocolate--no other chocolate thing will do.

sometimes i melt it and dip some banana slices or strawberries into it if i need a little more bulk than a little piece of dark choc. gives you tho

some real chocolate, dark-chocolate dipped ginger, yoghurt, chocolate protein shake, bananas

Id say a bowl of oatmeal with a square or two of chocolate stirred into it whilst warm :)

I eat an Ovo sport bar. It's yummier than normal chocolate ( + I love the powdery feeling), has tons of good things in it, and only 55 kcal. However I don't know if you can buy it abroad. :(

Homemade real cocoa.  Stir a tablespoon of unsweetened Dutch process cocoa powder and the sweetner of your choice into a cup of skim milk.  Heat it to boiling and add a few drops of vanilla or other flavoring if you like - taste and adjust sweetner.  It's more chocolatey than those cocoa mixes, very satisfying and under 100 calories.  It's also a serving of dairy.

There aren't that many calories in three midgee tootsie rolls, or two Hershey kisses.  Sometimes that small amount is enough to satisfy the craving.  Even though it's just empty calories, if it satisfies the craving you won't load up on other things.  I agree with the Hot Chocolate tip, too!  That can do it.  Good luck.

chocolate.

there's nothing wrong with eating what you crave.  a small amount of good chocolate should do the trick.  don't mess around with almost-chocolate.

IF you have a Trader Joes around you, they have this hot chocolate mix... its sooo good.  Probably not as good as making it yourself as one of the other posters mentioned, but its quicker. Very creamy and chocolatey and also has like 6 grams of fiber per cup or something! Good for you!

Also, Over the Moon Chocolate Milk (as long as you can limit yourself to one glass-- I am not so good at that) You find it by the soy milk in the grocery store, but its regular milk.  SOOOO creamy and rich and good and I think its non-fat. MMMM.

Why no have a chocolate? I don't mean ha sugar flavored stuff that Hershey sells, the real one. I love 72% Dark or Bitter sweet one from trader joes. One or two pieces is more then enough. Look at the ingredients list, if first element is not cocoa butter it's not a good quality chocolate.

I like clairelaine's idea about making cocoa from scratch.  I've made a game of it, trying different cocoa powders to see which one is best (Valrhona? Droste? Van Houtte? You decide.) I also add a teaspoon of cornstarch to the cocoa powder to make the cocoa thicken.

Another similar idea is to have a square of bittersweet (about 70 calories) with a cup of black coffee.  This makes the chocolate last longer, the coffee heat enhances the flavor, and the combination suppresses your appetite to some degree.

I love the No Sugar Added Fudgesicles. They are very yummy and chocolately!

The chocolate Active Lifestyle bars are yummy! They are about 140 calories and full of fiber and little bits of chocolate. I feel like I am eating a chocolate bar every time I munch on one of those.

chocolate Gnu flavor & fiber bars - lots of good stuff in those

Black bean brownies.

chocolate!

Chocolate is not the devil.  Just don't have more than one serving at a time.  I buy those 'giant' sized candy bars, put them in the fridge and eat one square at a time which is about 40 calories per square

After reading this I imagined myself with a cup of coffee with coco mixed in, the real deal... chocolate, and a warm 100 cal brownie. Is it bad that I imagined eating them all at the same time? :)

Thanks for the tips. I'm just going to have to give in to the chocolate, but in moderation.

I'm still not sure about the black bean brownies, but would love to know more about that!

Any other foods that give you your chocolate fix?

Chocolate.  Or a small serving of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Fudge Brownie ice cream.  Anything else and I'll still want chocolate afterward, so what was the point?
