Maybe someone would be willing to share their favorite healthy snacks under 200 calories? Also, where you buy them from and what's good about them. Thanks mucho to all.

I like surimi or fake crab meat. not a super healthy snack but i like it and its low in calories.

I am a total snacker, and I try not to buy snacks that exceed 150 calories.  I usually snack on fruit - like an apple or berries, but those aren't always convenient.

I also like these all natural apple chips made by Bare Fruit.  They have no added sugar and some are dusted with cinnamon (which adds no extra calories).  They are delicious and come in manageable individual bags, so you can monitor your caloric intake.  Bags are either 45 cals or 100 cals.  Nicer supermarkets have them, but you can also find them at barefruit.com.

I also live for Vitatops.  These are delicious 100 calorie muffin tops that come in a variety of flavors from blueberry bran to chocolate peanut butter.  They come individually wrapped and they also come in full muffin form.  You can find them in the freezer section of most supermarkets, also at vitalicious.com.

Also - I'm crazy about bars.  I like to snack on fiberone bars, all bran bars, special K bars and chewy low fat granola bars.  All are low cal, can be thrown in a bag and taken to-go, plus - the first two are high in fiber (extra bonus).

Lastly, Jello makes all kinds of delicious fat free, sugar-free snack packs in all different flavors like moca-chocolate, rice pudding and banana fudge.  These are probably made of all chemicals, so I wouldn't classify them as "healthy," but if you are watching your weight, they're great because they're low cal- and low sugar.

I hope this helps!  Happy snacking!

Ooh, I'm a big time snacker, especially on the weekends!!

  • cheese and crackers (laughing cow cheese wedges)
  • cucumber slices with lime juice squeezed on & hot sauce
  • chopped tomatoes w/chopped onion, lime juice, salt and oregano
  • Hostess mini cupcakes (100 cal paks)
  • 90 cal granola bars
  • popcorn
  • pretzels
  • baked cheese puffs
  • yogurt
  • frozen fruit with yogurt whipped in
  • strawberries (alone or dipped in FF cool whip)
  • pretty much any fruit (especially when you mix different kind)
  • starbrites (or candy canes during Christmastime)
  • 10 cal sugar free popsicles

I'm sure there's more but these are my lower calorie snacks

I make my snacks myself: I slice fruit or carrot sticks in the morning and put it in a tupperware. I also make carrot-apple muffins which are all natural (no fake sugar) and just over 100cals each, and Miso soup which is also about 100. Coffee with low-fat milk is filling, as is instant soup. A single scrambled egg (without oil) on toast is about 160. Small amounts of leftover supper, microwaved, are also good. For a super-filling snack, a 200g block of tofu, microwaved and then topped with soy sauce and sliced spring onion, is about 140cals. After that snack, I can't imagine eating any more!

This may be bad, but sometimes you need it.  Check out any candy/ chocalate bar but in the 'mini' version.  Very good when you are craving and it doesn't destroy your entire day.

Packet of chips, most fruit, hamburger ( without the bun and burger) lol :] popsicles

I find that a high-fiber/protein combo keeps me full the longest - here are some of my favories:
* Ryvita crackers with cottage cheese and cherry tomatoes
* Polenta wedges with feta and cherry tomatoes
* Crudites (baby carrots, broccoli, summer squash) with hummus
* Apples w/ almond butter
* Greek yogurt with apple sauce, berries and a weetabix biscuit crumbled on top

I am not a big fan of energy bars mostly because of the high sugar content, but I do get these spirulina chunks at my local WholeFoods - 2 dollars worth will last me a few weeks. I also bake my own oat/nut/fruit bars.

every issue of Health magazine has a page or two dedicated to a bunch of snacks usually under 100 cals

i love that mag.. :)

My favorite snack on-the-go are Fiber One bars - random, I know, but the fiber keeps you feeling full and they don't taste like "tree bark," lol. 3g fat, 9g sugar, 9g fiber, 2g protein. I usually grab a box at the grocery store or Target and keep one handy in my purse just in case I'm faced with those "I'm hungry but I don't want to eat crap" moments. :)

I too buy granola bars.  I really like peanut butter, so this is my low calorie way of getting my peanut butter fix without eating it with a spoon out of the jar.  I like Kashi and Nature Valley.  I usually buy two boxes, and keep one in my desk at work and one in my car.  Just in case!!

Also, I go to Costco and buy the rice crackers that they have.  In the package it comes with toasted seasame  and four cheese, then I buy the Laughing cow wedges.  A serving (16) of crackers is 130 cal and two wedges of cheese (35 ea=70 cal) is 200 cal exactly.  I usually only take 8 crackers and 1 wedge of cheese, and eat a piece of fruit with my snack, usually grapes or a banana.

Oh there are so many! My profile lists a link to a place where you can read about more (it is a blog), but some off the top of my head are: fage yogurt (with honey!), pistachios, almond milk, yotta bars, chocolate wedges from trader joes, frozen crepes, soy ice cream, kashi cereal, carrots, frozen fruits like cherries or grapes...

10oz of baby carrots (100cal) and some light ranch dressing (2oz)

Keeps me full :D Yay fiber!

I love fruit and veggies of course for snacks but when i need a candy bar fix i eat the 100 calorie candy bars i found at krogers in the candy section.  I'ts twix, milky way etc....in 100 calorie portions!! It even feelslike your cheating but they are only 100 calories and it satisfies my sweet tooth.

dLuna Bars 180-190 calories each.  My favorite flavors are:  Carmel Nut Brownie, Chocolate Raspberry, Iced Oatmeal Raisin, and any of the Luna Sunrise Bars.  Luna also makes Mini Snack Bars that I found at Target.  They snack size bars have only 80 calories each, but they are pretty small.

Kashi Go Lean Crunch Cinnamon Coffee Cake Bar--160 calories

Lara Bars:   I just tried the Apple pie flavor this morning...it was awesome.  And Lara Bars are all natural...just fruit and nuts, not sugar or artifical sweetener.  The Apple Pie flavor has 180 calories and the Cherry Pie flavor has 190 calories.

Zone Dark Chocolate Bars:  These are so good.  I love the Double Dark Chocolate (190 calories) and the Strawberry (180 calories).

Atkins Caramel Dark Chocolate Crunch Bars...these don't have that icky protein-bar taste that alot of the Atkins bars have.  They are 160 calories each.

2 Slices of Lite Wheat Bread and 1 fat-free Cheddar Cheese single--A 100 calorie grilled cheese sandwich.

Kashi TLC cookies (130 calories)..the Dark Chocolate Oatmeal is delicious.

1/2 cup fiber one cereal (60 calories) and 1/4 cup Unsweetened Almond Breeze (10 calories).  Plain fiber one cereal is actually really tasty.  I just tried it for the first time a few days ago, and I love it!

Sometimes I like to have a small bowl of fat-free reddi whip for dessert.  40 grams is just 40 calories.  Combine that with a cup of strawberries for a dessert under 100 calories.

Skinny Cow Sundae Cones are really good.  They are 150 calories each, and they have that big hunk of chocolate in the bottom of the cone.

Dannon Light and fit yogurt has only 60 calories.  Sometimes I like to mix some in with 3/4 of a cup of Kashi Go Lean (110 calories).

3 Trader Joes Light String Cheese sticks--180 calories

1 Trader Joes Whole Wheat Mini Croissant--130 calories

3 Trader Joes Turkey Meatballs--150 calories

4 Trader Joes Chicken Drummettes (like chicken nuggets) (150 calories) and 1/4 cup Heinz reduced sugar ketchup (20 calories)

1 1/3 cups of frozen peas--140 calories

2 slices lite wheat bread with 1 tbsp Better-N-Peanut Butter and 2 tbsp sugar-free jelly (140 calories)

2/3 cup of Cheerios Snack Mix--120 calories  This stuff is really good.  It's just like Chex Mix, except that it has Cheerios also.

1/2 cup of black beans--120 calories

Newton Fruit Crisps--100 calories per pack.  These might not be the healthiest thing ever, but they are a pretty good size for the calories, and they kinda taste like pop tarts...reminds me of being a kid.

South Beach Diet Cereal Bars--140 calories each

30 grams of Dry Roasted Salted Almonds--170 calories

1/2 cup of Egg Beaters, 1 Laughing Cow Cheese Wedge, Salt, Pepper and Mushrooms (120 calories)

Banana Smoothie:  1 small banana (90 calories) 1/2 cup skim milk (45 calories), and a sprinkle of cinnamon and four ice cubs.  Combine these in a blender for a refreshing treat.  You can also experiment with different flavors.  Sometimes I like to use coconut extract in my smoothie.  Strawberries and Chocolate Syrup are other good additions to this recipe.

2 Pillsbury Reduced Fat Breadsticks--140 calories

1 Trader Joes Chicken Sausage 100-180 calories depending on the flavor.  Some of my favorites are Spinach and Fontina (140 calories) and Fire Roasted Red Pepper (120 calories) and Mushroom Asiago (180 calories).
