In the past I have never really been able to stick with weight training for more than a day or two because I find it so boring.  I'm more of a high intensity cardio kind of girl, but have to cut back on it due to medical issues.  So now I'm trying to do moderate cardio 3-4 times per week and add in more weight training/toning.

I really don't like the machines at the gym for weight training at all.  I want to focus on getting a rounder behind and keeping my stomach relatively flat.  Does anyone use any videos that they love and want to recommend for weight training and toning?

Please help me out here : )

I love the Slim in 6 videos as well as Pilates...I had no idea how to use the machines at the gym so when I came across the Slim in 6 infomercial, I was really excited.

It's your lucky day because I'm here to tell you the machines are worthless for this goal. The bad news is videos aren't much better, if at all. Free weights, squats, lunges, deadlifts: that's what you want. It might not be a non-stop party's worth of fun, but it does the job the best.

I won't attempt to come across as an expert, but I will share with you what has worked for me.

I use The Firm videos. My collection is rather large because I enjoy the variety available and I enjoy working with my hand weights, 8lb toning ball, adjustable step and my exercise ball.

Since I can always increase the size dumb bell I use, I don't have to worry about things getting too boring and I can always rotate the tapes/dvds.

Ultimately we all have to figure out what our personal fitness goals are and go from there. Remember that there is more than one way to skin a cat and more than one way to lose the fat.

Good Luck!

I used the Power 90 videos (Google Power 90) the videos are pretty good and you only workout 45mins a day for 6 days. You'll do Cardio and strength training on alternate days.
