Good workout music

Quote  |  Reply

Anyone have any ideas for some good, fast-tempo, upbeat workout tunes? I have a few that I generally workout to already on my ipod, but I'm running out of ideas for adding new songs. Anything that I can run to while on the treadmill is what I'm looking for and songs where I can run to the beat. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Smile

Have you loaded any DJ Tiesto? It's techno but really fun, also Madonna's nes album Hard Candy is really uptempo.

My new favorites are Lady GaGa and katy Perry.

Recently I have found some old-school Aqua good to run to, specifically Dr. Jones, Candyman, etc.

Cheesy I know! But a great running tempo!

Podrunner has some really cool beats..I love it..Helps me stay on the treadmill/elliptical/bike for an hour

Pink, Pat Benetar, Black Eyes Peas, Gretchen Wilson, Dixie Chicks,

Thanks for the info on that. I just checked out the site and the songs seem to have the kind of beat I'm looking for, plus they're free so that makes it even more awesome!

Oh and btw, all of the other suggestions here are awesome as well. Lots of songs I never would have thought of or have never heard of so thanks for all the great recommendations everyone!!!

I like Gwen Stefani's Sweet Escape.....

Techno! I love Ace of Base (first album which was more dance-y) and my go to album for working out usually is the Run Lola Run soundtrack.

There are actually quite a lot..all you have to do is find them. Take a look at the top 40 chart as I do not really know your music taste, and go on youtube and see if you like them, then you can add them to your ipod. Thats a way to find some songs.

When I workout I usually listen to music that will get me pumped. And everybody's different, but for me, that music is metal. Slipknot, Nothingface, Disturbed, Mudvayne, etc. I saw that someone recommend DJ Tiesto. I listen to the dance/techno stuff too and that is also good work out music.

Madonna, Rihanna and 3 Days Grace are my favorites...

Also check out "Power Music" on itunes (if you have itunes) they have faster remixes of some popular songs. Some are awesome, but some really, REALLY suck (like "Bubbly" by Colbie Colbet... that song was never, EVER, meant to run to)

Tom Petty--Running Down a Dream

Pink Floyd--Run Like Hell

Supertramp--Cannonball

Elvis Costello--Pump It Up

Love that song. It's actually Flo Rida featuring Kesha.

Lately I've been listening to Rise Against, Coheed and Cambria, The Killers, and The Who.  The new Offspring song "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" has a really good pace to it also.

  • The Fear - U-Ziq - I always warm up to this song, sets a nice pace to start out
  • Lazy Eye - Silversun Pickups
  • Do it Well (Moto Blanco Remix) - Jennifer Lopez - when I'm tired and wanting to stop, this song gets me through
  • Pass Me By - Pete Yorn - good way to end out a workout or start to wind down
  • Move in My Direction (Angel City Remix) - Bananarama - when I'm tired and my strides get short, a reminder to lengthen it out. hit the beat.
  • Fading Like a Flower (Extended Remix) - Dancing DJ vs. Roxette
  • Disturbia - Rihanna
  • Banquet - Bloc Party - Don't know if I'll ever get sick of this one. Been on any high energy mix since my freshman year of college
  • Around the World (Radio Edit) - Daft Punk
  • Jerk it Out - Caesar's Palace
  • Neighborhood #3 (Power Out) - Arcade Fire
  • She Sells Sanctuary - The Cult
  • Viva La Vida - Coldplay
  • Lights Out - Santogold
  • As the Rush Comes (Radio Edit) - Motorcycle

i see daft punk has already been mentioned, but i just want to recommend the "alive 2007" album. i love to run to it, it's really motivating. (and i can pretend that the live audience is cheering for me ;D)

NICKLEBACK!  Dare you to sit still.
