Hey guys... I was just wondering what your favorite "power tracks", if you will, are. I'm really into music but I must say that the tracks that really get me moving are ironically bad or poppy. Or Eye of the Tiger. I just have a whole 1GB shuffle to fill and the fifty or so songs on there are getting tired surprisingly quickly.

Here are some faves, and I warn you, they are not all my usual taste in music. Some are, though!

Avril Lavigne feat. Lil Mama - Girlfriend

Salt N Pepa - Push It

The Backstreet Boys - Everybody (Backstreet's Back [Alright!])

The Go! Team - Junior Kickstart (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQg7qOB5Heg)

Third Eye Blind - Semi-Charmed Life

Justice - D.A.N.C.E.

A.R. Rahman feat. M.I.A. - O Saya (from Slumdog Millionaire)

The Chemical Brothers - The Salmon Dance

What are some of your favorites? I'm into sharing so if you'd like some of these tracks just message me. :)

I workout in a room at home, so that allows me to have my laptop nearby. I go to www.pandora.com and enter an artist, then the website creates a playlist based on the style of music I originally entered. This helps me to keep some variety in the mix!

Static-X is good for pushing yourself (YAH! you push it!) because it has driving rhythms and can make you feel powerful, but the lyrics are far from motivational.  Wayne Static will not hold your hand and tell you it will be alright, he will kick you in the pants and make you work through the pain!

If you're going to be doing some happy-day cardio, Foo Fighters Colour and Shape is good as long as you skip the real slow tracks.

I really am loving Lady Gaga right now... I have been sprinting to her songs, Beautiful, Dirty, Rich and Lets Dance, and Poker face are great!

A few of my favourites...

Poison - Bell Biv Devoe

Crazy in Love - Beyonce

Pump It - Black Eyed Peas

A lot from Britney Spears, Stronger, Gimme More

Gonna Make You Sweat - C+C Music Factory

Harder, Better, Faster Stronger - Daft Punk

Till I Collape - Eminem

Whine up - Kat DeLuna

A few from Lady Gaga, Poker Face and Just Dance

Too Legit To Quit - MC Hammer

Hey Ya - Outkast

Don't Stop Me Now - Queen

Hey Mickey! - Toni Basil

I have to work out to dance/rave music!  It has a constant up beat and moves pretty fast so I get in this "trance" (or "zone" if you prefer) and I swear time goes by SO fast! Last night I had done close to 3 miles on the eliptical and could go more!  My "audio bible" so to speak is DJ Scribble's Essential Spring Break (1999). It contains some really great tracks!  Try it = you'll see!

NOTHING is worse that trying to get into your zone when the gym loud speakers are blasting Journey ballads (I mean, SERIOUSLY???)

I play Britney Spears which encourages me to go faster to finish reps so I can turn that crap off.

^me too! Shes my body insparation too.  I also listen to Lady Gaga, Seether, Linkin Park and other rock.

i agree with libby!!! techno's the way to go :)  benny benassi satisfaction, global dj's, DHT and soo much more :)  makes me wanna dance!  very upbeat!

My personal favorites...

Machiene Head by Bush

Ready to Fall by Rise Against

The Kids Aren't Alright & Hammerhead by Offspring

Every Time I Die - Ebolarama or anything else by this amazing band will get you moving in no time.

Mikey

Oh my, I must say that the music I listen to heavily affects the intensity of my workout.  I usually set my iPod to shuffle, but here is my ultimate playlist...

Kiss Me-Stephen "Tin-Tin" Duffy
New Life-Depeche Mode
Work Hard-Depeche Mode ("Got to work hard, you got to work hard, if you want anything at all!" Makes ya think!)
!@*$%#-Fischerspooner
Cease2xist-Ladytron

Bucky Done Gun-M.I.A
Intertiatic E.S.P-The Mars Volta
Le Disko-Shiny Toy Guns
Olympic Airways-Foals (Cool-Down)
Photograph of You-Flock of Seagulls (Cool-Down)

Oh yeah...

anoxa - I will have to download those to my MP3 too! Just got back from the gym and it was so much fun- you do feel like dancing! Laughing

Worse than Journey?  Surely you mean better.
