Goodbye flabby fat arms!! ... I wish....
I have been on a strict diet for 2 weeks now and I practice pilates for 40 minutes everyday... I do see some results on my tummy (it's getting flat) but I also want to see some noticeable results on my arms too... unfortunately, it's not going to happen any time soon. According to several websites, you need to lose weight all over the body in order to lose those fat in your arms... although upper body exercises can tone your arms and build muscles, they are not going to help you burn those annoying fat... oh... I am in despair right now :(
As dissappointing as it is, it's true that you can't target spots of your body to lose weight - but the benefit is that every exercise you do goes towards burning calories and ultimately losing the weight that you want to lose. Keep doing what you're doing, because if you're seeing visible results after two weeks, then you're well on your way, and you're doing it right - congratulations, keep it up!
hey there, thanks for the encouragement! i was really discouraged after reading all these "not gonna help your arms", "nope, can't burn fat there" statements... i'll try my best to keep it up and hopefully i can finally say byebye to my "wings" :)
While it's true that you can't send the old fat-burner to your triceps, you're on the right course. Eating right and Pilates will tone your arms. I've been doing Pilates almost exclusively for the past 3 years and my arms look better than they ever did (hello tricep definition!).
I'm a certified Pilates instructor if you want some ideas on arm-specific stuff you can do. And don't forget about cardio. Pilates is great but unless you're using a jump board you're not getting any cardio.
And keep the faith with the diet (although I hate that word!). Healthy eating is the key. It took a while to get those arms out of shape, it's going to take a while to get them back into shape. Hang in there!
Why do I get bad cramps after I eat?
Suspect lactose intolerance when abdominal cramps are a problem, especially after breakfast when milk products are consumed. Lactose... Read more
