Goodwill shoppers UNITE!! :)
What kind of crap good stuff have YOU found at your local Goodwill? (or Savers, or whatever yours happens to be called) we have both here.
I've found tons of junk good stuff there :D but I'd have to say that my favorite finds are:
- Louis Vuitton Sunglasses/purses
- Dooney and Bourke purses
- Fendi purse
- Lucky Brand jeans with tags still on them
- American Eagle jeans with tags still on them
among other stuff.
oh oh oh... as I type this, I'm using this hairdryer thingy that I got at the Goodwill. I'm deep conditioning my hair right now and have this hair dryer thingyon my head that shoots out heat from a hose that's attached to a plastic cap :D It was brand new in the box from Sally Beauty Supply for $44.99, but I only paid $5.99 for it!! woohoo
(the link shows a higher price, so I must have an older model or something.... but it was still NEW!) woot
Moody, Gurl what Goodwill do you go to that you found the Louis bags at? that's amazing...
was thinking about this today, while out shopping, that when I focus on "Good Luck" in finding the perfect pieces/sales/shoes/clothes, etc,...I usually FIND it... :)

my question is: WHAT kind of person DONATES their Louis Vuitton bag?!?!? lol
it's not like I find a new Louis V every time I go Goodwill shopping. I'll come across great finds like that every once in a while... i guess it's just luck.
but man!! when I find em.... I'm doing flips for days :D
A HUGE, HUGE, HUGE, STUFFED SNAKE! It was $8. Stuffed animals that big can be almost 30-40 bucks! It was quite the find!
I got this marigold colored rocking recliner that I totally loved for about $10. I think I had that chair for almost ten years.
Oh, and I once found a white embroidered corset - like the real thing, old-fashioned, whalebone with garters and everything - that I got for $7.
Everytime I've gone into a Salvation Army or Savers, they have total crap choice of clothes to pick from. Majority are like "Grandma-clothes".
I've never been to a Goodwill, however. Not seen one around these parts, either. ;/
New Fiestaware, 4 place settings for $10
Pyrex mixing bowls - .25 each
I shop more at our local charity thrift shops
Coach Wallet - $6
Stone Mountain purse - $7.50
Land End cardigan, brand new - $8
Villager embroidered tee - $2
And these are just a few of the brand name things. It does help that the people donating to the shops are very wealthy.
i cleaned out my closet last weekend yay and have a bunch of stuff i need to take today.
the only item of note is an old coach purse i bought in a secondhand store. a box of random dishes that were replaced last xmas with fiestaware. three boxes of clothes. a couple of fistfuls of dresses and skirts on hangers. oh and a few lame xmas presents from my SIL. one year she wrapped a package of little debbies after we all drew names. the lil debbies are not being donated fyi.
claire, $10 for 4 place settings of fiestaware is truly amazing. nice find!
I shop at Goodwill all the time! :D I always have great luck, just got a pair of Banana Republic pants for a few US dollars. Nobody thinks I shop at Goodwill, because I'm always well dressed and get complements but I'm probably paying less than everyone else for my clothes. Also, once I went shopping a few times at Goodwill and was paying $8 for a few shirts and a pair of trousers with the tags still on, I just couldn't justify spending (wasting) all that money on new clothes.
Yay thrift shoppers! :D
Brand new, still in the box, rice cooker for $4.00.
Jeans for $2.00
The best things I've found are just really interesting vintage things.
Clothes: Donna Karen coat and jeans, Eddie Bauer shirts, Nike dri-fit running pants (still had tags on), American Eagle windbreaker, jeans, and aeropostal jeans
A portable painting box complete with a full set of oils, canvas, basically everything for $5
A full matched set of flatware and dishes. ~15$
My favorite book: Complete book of Running by runner's world for 50 cents.

Wow! That's an absolutely fantastic deal. What color Fiesta? Just curious.
Best find: A like new Canyon Group Chenille robe for $11.99 I actually did a little joy dance outside the store. :) It was just like one of the many I'd seen Fran wear on that show: The Nanny. I've always loved the adorable robes worn on that show. I never thought I would actually buy one dirt cheap though.
It was a steal.. I felt like a criminal.
j/k
Franco Sarto boots for $5, a couple of cashmere sweaters for 3 or 4 bucks apiece. Various dresses and blouses, not necessarily name brand but still nice.
I love shopping the thrifts, and I've found a place here that gives me store credit for stuff I bring in.
I found these awesome 70's men's shorts that were green and pink and blue and yellow. I wore them every day during 10th grade band camp. Best thing EVER.
Mink coat, real mink $25
bebe tank $2
BAHAHA Moody I can just imagine you, sitting there, with that big weiner blower thingie suckin on yer brains!
Just want to jump in and say any high end designer good you might find in a thrift is most likely a fake.
That said I'm a BIG thrift store fan and have found so much great stuff (over years) that I couldn't begin to list.

oh definitely!!! I have about 80 fakes :D
but the few that ARE real... I got from a few thrifstores. I paid 100 bucks for a louis vuitton, 80 bucks for a dooney... etc. I think some of the thrift stores know what they have, hence the high prices.
like... a few of the fakes that i have, I distinctly remember paying like 5.99 or something like that. even as low as 1.99
there were however, a few purses that I've gotten that cheap that were real :D they just weren't the more modern ones :(
I'm a pursewhore :/
I really REALLY want a marc jacobs purse, but I seriously doubt i'd ever find one at a thrift store..... even the fake ones don't show up there :(

I bought a desk that was the perfect size and shape to use as a sewing table for $10. That was over 25 years ago.
