Hey everyone, I'd just like to share this blog with you all. It's my favourite ever, written by a girl called Katie. She's an oatmeal genius! It's also a vegan blog, so if you're veg be sure to check out her other recipes.
My personal favourite is the "Brownie Batter Oatmeal". Here's the recipe!
1 serve uncooked oats, according to your packet
1 banana, sliced
1 heaping tablespoon unsweetened good-quality dark cocoa powder
Soy milk or regular milk, to taste
1. Cook the oatmeal up with water/whatever variety of milk the way you usually would.
2. Melt the banana slices in your microwave (this takes about 2 minutes for my microwave, it's about 800 watts).
3. Stir the banana through your cooked oats.
4. Pour your oats + banana, with the tablespoon of cocoa, into a food processor and blend until it's reached a pudding-like consistency. Add soy/regular milk if you want to thin it a little! You can also use a hand blender in place of a food processor.
5. Transfer the mix into a bowl and EAT!
It's SO good and chocolatey and rich, tastes EXACTLY like brownie batter, and only about 280 - 300 cals a serve the way I make it!
I AM SO EXCITED TO TRY THIS!
Me too! I usually put golden raisins and cinnamon in mine... what a cool new way spruce up my breakfast! Heck... that may even be my dinner!! ha ha
Coppertop - Haha that's exactly what I put in mine before :) I tried her Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Oatmeal this morning. SO GOOD.
