just had 500 grams, a whole pint of cheesecake ice cream :D
haha I could care less.
it was a 900 ml- 500 grams (100g= 196 calories. 500g=980 calories total) pint of cheesecake with raspberry ice cream....omg it was heavenlyyyyyyyyyyy. It also had tiny bits of cookie and wow...I ate it in one sitting lol I couldnt help it, it was damn good, and after a week long of keeping my intake despite the ups and downs, I felt like rewarding myself (not to mention that my back ache makes it a struggle for me to cook and prepare my food) so, today I woke up had breakfast, and then decided to go the grocery shop (in a lot of pain...i looked like a damn granny walking down the street haha) and bought that deelish ice cream...walked back, took off my jacket, grabbed a spoon, sat down on the couch and ate and ate and ate! lol
so I indulged, i had it planned since yesterday. It has 980 cals in total, and I only had my breakfast, so Im still in track :P and I can still fit in some extra food so I feel gooooooood! take that freaking ED :) I beat you hard and Im damn proud.
cheat days can be quite pleasing if you fit them into your calorie intake :) back to my healthy ways tomorrow!
yummy. I am going to work something I have been wanting into my diet next week. Chili...man do I want some chili and crackers. Its just a lil higher calorie and I like to use a lot of crackers. Gotta wait till next wednesday, thats my highest calorie day of the week( i zig zag my cals)mmmmmmmmmmm just thinking about it.
So you beat your eating disorder by binging on ice cream and then only eating breakfast so that you didn't pass your caloric intake level for the day? That sounds healthy as healthy can be.

hey.. that could be a huge achievement for someone who was terrified of eating a high fat high cal food at the height of her ED.
I guess so, and I admittedly have no personal experience with any sort of ED (food-related ED or otherwise, thankfully), but I do know for a fact that this sort of mentality is not healthy. This is exactly the reason why people who follow strict dietary plans, not just people ON DIETS, but those who have a permanent nutrition plan, almost always set aside a cheat day for themselves.

first of all let me say how much I really just hate when people come here just to post replies that are sarcastic or just mean. If you have nothing good to say about it, dont say it at all. YES to me it was beating my eating disorder, because before I would NEVER have an entire pint of ice cream by myself, at least not without feeling guilty. Not enough for you? Sorry to disappoint you...unfortunately I care more about what I feel than what anyone else feels about this.
Next time you decide to comment on someone with an eating disorder, who felt the need to share a success she had with something she wasnt able to conquer before, I suggest you think on it twice. What may have seem stupid to you, is a huge step for someone else.
And whatever, Im no mood to deal with negativity and people who are just here to bring others down...
I still feel great :) and I wont let things like these get to me.

Is there anything wrong with someone setting a cheat day? Does someone who has a very healthy eating plan and exercise regime has to be on healthy eating all the time? I know of tons of people who are by NO MEANS in a diet, who have set cheat days just because it is just impossible to avoid certain foods. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having days on which you really crave for something and just have it, and get back to your normal way of eating the next day, as long as you dont make it a habit. IT would be not healthy for me to have a "binge" on ice cream almost every day uncontrollably on top of more food. Thats a binge disorder, and that can not be compared to a "cheat day".
Hey Bananee- well done, I know that was a big achievement for you, and I hope you really enjoyed it! I totally understand the 'cheat day' mentality, and fully intend to incorporate it into my new way of life. Take care Hun. XxX
lol, i guess my cheat day was yesterday.. I had 700 cals worth of sugar cookies, and boy was it good!!! I see nothing wrong with enjoying foods you like.. Or having cheat days every now and then.. That ice cream sure sounds good (even though i'm not really a big fan of ice cream!!)

I was just gonna post the same thing, lol.. You beat me to it.. :D
Ditto for cheesecake! ![]()
thank you all for supporting me. It just SUCKS that people come here to try and bring a person suffering from an ED down like this...
I am SO NOT regreting that I had my cheesecake ice cream today it was soooo freaking good, and yes I did have more food, and still will, so Im having a normal day for me :)
and cheat days are perfectly fine, we all know this :P even my mom, who's 48 years old, not looking to lose weight, just living her life, has "cheat days"...just days when you feel like treating yourself just because you love that food and dont have it as often.
next week Ill prolly have something else, nto exactly the ice cream, but a less caloricly dense food, but still somewhat of a "treat" hehe
I should plan out a cheat day, too. I've been missing my best friends, Ben and Jerry, way too much. but my sister came to visit me at college last weekend and I basically had a cheat weekend. Haha. I guess I'll have to wait a little while.
Good for you. I know that's really tough. :)
Cheat days are great! Knowing there is a day when I will plan to cheat makes it easier to stay on track the rest of the time. Yesterday ended up with an unplanned cheat lunch. The chili called and I answered! I have been really hungry all week and succombed to the chili yesterday. I ate a Kashi dinner & ended up on track for the day. Today I am following my usual plan and not feeeling deprived. Up with Ben & Jerrie's! And chili! And sugar cookies!

Although her first post was out of line, she was actually saying cheat days are good, and part of a healthy permanent eating plan. She is saying that planning the cheat foods ON TOP of your normal calories for the day is the way to go, not substituting everything except breakfast for a pint of ice cream. She obviously missed the part about how you were still planning on adding extra food in later in the day.
And grats on allowing yourself the occational cheat with no guilt. In the past, guilt over "forbidden" foods has always been my downfall as well, and it's no nice to move past that into a healthier mindset. :)
cheat days are definitely great. Actually, I was reading some while back this article on how many nutritionists/dietitians plan out a cheat day to keep their patients motivated to keep going with their diet plans. It also helps the body break from the habbit of having the same food always, and it helps the dieter emtionaly...plus depriving yourself of yummy foods like ice cream, can only make you wind up with binge days, REAL binge days...those days that no matter what you just cant have enough of sweets...and those are the days that can really throw you off and your body as well. Cheat days that are planned out work best...because you eat what you want, you feel good about it because you had it planned and keep things under control.
What else can you ask for? if it means that you can control your cravings and be more successful in maintaining/losing weight, then perfect :)
this post is not meant to be offensive. but i think you kinda did binge and you are using your eating disorder to defend it.
950 cals or 500g of icecream is not a normal amount. if you incorperated this into your daily intake then chances are you would feel satisfied before those 500g. i dunno if you are on weight gain or whatever. but you aren on a reducing diet so cheat days arent something you should require. recovery would be about allowing good foods in moderation. so it shouldnt feel like eating.
i dont think any nutritionist would class the icecream episode as a cheat day.... whats classed as a cheat would be some pizza instead of lean meat n veg for dinner. a WHOLE pint of icecream would classed as not normal. i have been there with anorexia and believe me it would be a good idea to nip this in the bud or you might find more and more that you are justifyin eating large amounts by saying "oh its a cheat, and oh this is great that i am conquering stuff i couldnt do before".
recovery and health should allow you to eat dessert each day. (again no offense intended at all... jus a word of caution...)
Wow! I envy you because you're not the least bit guilty! For me, I would probably be upset with myself, then actually binge. I hope to be able to have a week of keeping my intake, and then having a nice treat after. But it's going to take me quite abit of work :(
You're lucky! I want some vanilla ice cream now...full fat too, none of the "low-cal/55% les fat" ones. Hmm, maybe it'll be my goal for this week.

That's exactly what I was saying...
"he" not "she" by the way...
Congrats!! Yay! :) The ice cream sounds delish! (& ignore the trolls!!)
I know how you're feeling!
Today I had three chocolate muffins (about 500 cals each), a slice of chocolate (1000 cals) cake.... all after breakfast (about 300 cals) and lunch (about 500 cals). So take that ED! :D
And I took a nap right after all my chocolate!! No exercising either ;)
And I woke up and had a light snack/dinner as well.
And I barely even felt guilty cause I'm severly underweight. I guess binging/weight gain/destroying my health is all such a fine line! pfft, so be it, im sick of being a perfectionist and eating perfectly controlled/healthy.
I just hate being super unhealthy haha. But back to being healthier tomorrow I guess ;)
