today i ate an entire bushel of grapes. (bushel?) anyway. i freezed half cup portions (four of them) (YUM) and the rest i didnt but estimated it all together to be about 7 cups worth, cause they were ALMOST 4 dollars a lb and it cost me $7 and some change. CC says only about 430 cals. could this be right? i know its grapes but i feel like it should be more lol
by the way, i know that grapes arent something you should eat that much of because they're high in sugar and therefore eventually fattening. but i did what i did.
any input??
You should try to avoid added sugar as much as possibly. Grapes have natural sugar so it's not as bad for you. If the mentality was that ANY sugar is bad, you'd have to cut out ALL fruit. And, to be honest, I've NEVEr known ANYONE who got fat off of eating fruit. Save for fruit bats and hamsters. BUT, last time I checked humans don't fall into that catagory.
Grapes can be pretty high calorie, depending on what type of grape you have as well. But, I don't think you have to worry too much. One slip up of eating GRAPES of all things isn't bad.
Now, if you ate a whole bushel of powdered sugar, you may have a problem. Grapes? UI wouldn't worry too much about it.
I wouldn't worry about the calories, like direwolf said, it's not going to make you fat.
However, from personal experience of eating too many grapes, you may want to be sure you're close to a bathroom the next 24 hours. ![]()
an entire cup of grapes is only about 60 calories so you're fine, no worries. and, they'll give you the runs so you're flushing out your system! yaaay! lol
for some reason i've been craving grapes like crazy too. i'm taking ziplock baggies to my dining hall and stocking up on them so i don't have to buy them at the grocery store. ahahhaa! i love taking advantage of the system.
I definitely wouldn't worry about the amount of grapes you ate.
In terms of measurements, though, you should never really eat a bushel of anything. A bushel is 8 gallons, which would be about 14 pounds of grapes, giving you about 4000 calories worth.
lol well it definitely wasnt that much!! i didnt even BUY 2 lbs worth haha. thank goodness cause i probably WOULD have eaten them all
