A great way to exercise and help raise money for a good cause
This year is the 17th Annual CHOC/Disneyland Resort walk in the Park. I am participating with my work as a part of a team, but you can also participate individually. All that is required to participate is $50, either from yourself, or in sponsorships.
I would totally suggest starting a CC team (which could still be done, but I personally wouldn't be able to be a part of it because I'm already a part of a team) if people would be interested.
I just thought I would throw it out there because it would be a great motivator for some people to get out and exercise for a good cause!
If people are interested in participating, let me know and I'll forward you a link to the website.
CM, that sounds like a fun thing to do. Do you have more information about the walk? I know CHoC is Childrens Hospital of Orange County. Certainly a worthwhile charity. How long is the walk and what day is it held? I did the Revlon walk in LA earlier this year and it was a really fun experience. I think making a CC group is a great idea.
It is on Sunday, October 19th at 7 a.m. at Disneyland. I'm not sure how long it is, but I believe it is less than two hours because it is held before the park opens at 9 a.m.
Here's a link to the website: www.chochwalk.org
At that website you can sign up if you'd like ![]()
My husband and I are also interested. Do we want to make a CC team? That would a fun way to get to know some of our local calorie counters. It is 5K which is about 3 miles. Should be an easy walk and a chance to burn off a few calories while helping a good cause.
I think you guys should definitely start a team, if you can get enough people! I would join, but as I said I've already committed to the team that my work has started. I would, however, still like to meet you guys if you decide to do the walk. I'll be with the Orange County's Credit Union team.
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
