Greek Yogurt as a dip???????
Hey all,
So I'm planning on having morningstar farms "chik'n" buffalo wings for dinner and I was thinking instead of having a sugary dipping sauce to go with them(plum/ketchup), I should try greek yogurt. I absolutely LOVE greek yogurt, but I was thinking maybe I should add some spices to it. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Ever heard of tzatziki?
Yea I have a tub of tzatziki in my fridge right now, it's just so high in fat. But I guess I can tweak it if I make my own. Thanks for the suggestion!
I've definitely used Greek yogurt as a dip before. Get one of those spice mixes that are meant to be mixed with mayonnaise or sour cream to make a dip--I use ones from the farmers' market, but you can probably find something decent at a good grocery store. Add the spice mix to Greek yogurt. If you want it to be a little tangier, maybe half fat-free or low-fat Greek yogurt, half low-fat sour cream.
Try mincing a dill pickle into the yogurt with some salt and pepper. It gives the feel of tzatziki and quick to do on your own.
You could so some mint, they use mint for everything in indian cuisine which uses yogurt sauce like whoa. Also, maybe mix in a little cardomon and lemon juice. Or maybe take that plum cause and mix in a little bit of that with the yogurt. Behold the awesome. <---- google "raita"
