Hello Green Team! I guess I will be the first to post
! My name is Gwen, I am not quite 5 feet tall, 37 years old and looking to lose about 45 lbs more. I have been a member of CC since November 17th and since joining I have lost 28 lbs! This is my first BLC and I am very amped up and ready to go! WOO HOO GO TEAM GREEN!!
Hi all!! I'm so excited to be on Team Green. Those other teams cannot possibly compare!
I am 5'10" and trying to lose weight and tone up for my wedding (and get rid of a lot of the baggage that I put on after breaking my pelvis in a skiing accident 2 years ago.) I am finally back to the gym and trying to get back in shape! I've lost about 10 pounds since joining CC, and about 20 since last summer. My goal weight is 130 because that is around what I weighed before the accident, but I'd also be happy just to tone up and turn fat into muscle (although I guess I help the group less that way)! Honeymoon swimsuit here I come!!
Great to meet you, Gwen!
Greetings Green Team!
Looks like I'm the heavyweight here :) - Fine by me, it motivates me more!
I'm really excited about this challenge. I changed my eating lifestyle on Friday, January 9th of this year, and have lost 30 pounds so far. That ginormous at-first weight loss has slowed to a more acceptable rate of 1-2 pounds per week, and I have since added in a short cardio routine 3 days a week. I'm looking forward to cheering each other on as we shed pounds together!
~Katy
hey green maties! i am barely 5 foot and need to loose about 50 more pounds. this is my 4 bl challenge. the first one i did good the second one fair. the last 2 not so good. i have hit that dreaded plautea! and i am haveing a hard time breaking it this time. so i join the deficate challenge. i am hopeing that helps! so lets do this and beat the other team! together we can!! good luck to all of us on the weigh in this week!
GREENIES CAN DO THIS!!
Hey there Green Team! My name is Candice, I am guilty for Yo-yo Dieting, and this year I plan to Keep it off!! It's like a gain and lose the same 30lbs over and over. I am 5ft 10inches and 25 years old. I restarted my calorie count lifestyle change on Jan. 5th this year and have lost 33lbs so far. I am looking to lose another 50-60lbs depending on how I feel and look :)
Good luck and lets win this!
Hello Teammates!
I'm a 34 yo mom of 3. I'm 5'6" and need to drop at least 44 pounds. I've been overweight since my teens...only slightly then, more so now... and this mama's had enough!!! My initial goal is 160 and when I reach that point I'll see how I feel and look overall.
I'm excited about this BL challenge. It's the first one I've participated in. The last weigh-in is right before a concert I'm going to and I'd like to be 20 pounds down by then. Wow. That will put me in the 180s...I haven't seen that for 5 years or more!
I fell off the wagon for a few weeks, but I'm back and down 3 pounds from last week, to 204!
Go Big Green!!!
Hey guys, Kat from the Blue Team
just thought i would drop on and say hi! Doing a little infiltrating here...no just kidding. We may be on different teams, but the ultimate goal is weight loss right? Just keeping it fun with a little tag team competition..
Chocolate, cakes and pies, oh MY!
Wild and Betz know i mean no harm!!! hehehehe
Go blue !!!
arl1623: Great to meet you too! Congratz on the impending nuptuals ... and you will look GREAT in that honeymoon swimsuit! I am glad you are all healed up and feeling good enough to exercise and help TEAM GREEN kick some you know what!
loudflower: I love that enormous first time weight loss! I know it isn't healthy to maintain that kind of loss ... but good golly if it was I would love it! Mostly because I am so impatient!
30 lbs is AMAZING in such a short time! I have ALMOST lost 30 lbs ... but I have been working on doing that since November! I hit the dreaded plateau for a few weeks ... but thankfully some great advice from other CC members helped me to break that! Now I am ready to go again ... and so excited to get know each other and support each other as we all become big losers (the good kind
)! Nice to meet you, Katy!
wildntaken: Our stats are similar (I am 4'11.5" and need to lose about another 45 ish pounds). Sometimes it is so hard to do when you are as short as we are! I wish I could sprout up to about 5'10" or 5'11" ... then I would be at GOAL! haha! The deficit challenge would have been a good idea! I thought about joining that one but thought it may be too much for me to take on two new challenges in one month! Maybe you can keep me posted for next month though -- if they run that challenge again. I may want to do it in April! I think that I may set a goal for myself ... maybe around deficits ... that way I have some little goals to help me be a contributor for TEAM GREEN!! Nice to meet you!
goingtolookgood: Hi Candice, nice to meet you! I have definitely had my share of ballooning up and down ... would be nice to lose a different 30 lbs for once, huh? As soon as I hit the 35 lbs lost mark ... I will officially be able to say that I am losing a NEW 30lbs -- since I will not have been that weight ... since uhm ... I was PREGNANT (and my daughter is 18!)! ARGH! I feel VERY positive that this is going to be a great challenge and a great group of people to be losers with!! Good luck to you as well!
faithymom: This is my first BL Challenge as well! I am excited and nervous at the same time! But, I have a really great feeling that this is going to be the boost I need to get over the hump and moving toward a healthy weight and BMI! Congratz on your 3 lb loss ... that is amazingly hard work! Go TEAM GREEN!
kawnd11: Hello, Kat! You are right ... we may be on different teams ... but the ultimate goal is to shed these pounds! Having said that....
Chocolate, cakes and pies -- Oh my!
Will only keep our weights up high!
Exercise and eating clean ....
Will help us all to become lean!
GO TEAM GREEN!!
Sooooo obvious that I was NOT a cheerleader at any point in my life! haha!
**EDIT** I think it would be fair to let you know that I will not be able to weigh in during the weigh ins for 3/31 - 4/2. I will be on vacation in VEGAS that week. I know I would be able to log in ... but unless the hotel's fitness room includes a scale ... I have no idea how to weigh myself -- and no matter how much I want to lose this weight ... I am just not going to pack my scale in my suitcase!! That would be a little crazy ... even for me! I hope that is OK. I plan on exercising while I am gone (the hotel has a fitness room AND a great pool)... but calorie counting may be a little bit difficult ... but I promise I will try and do my best to not over do it while I am gone. I want to be a contributor to this team ... vacation or no vacation!

Go blue !!!
I know what you mean girl, and to all my greenmates, she is harmless and actually very supportive! Hi everybody! I consider it VERY good luck to be the green team in the Month of March!! I am not Irish, but I could be persuaded to believe in a pot of gold or at least a wish. My wish would be that everyone of you is successful and Strong this challenge. Back round info in a nutshell,,, I am 49, had weight issues all my life, health took a turn that really packed on the weight, figured out the problem, found CC 2 days after the surgery that fixed my health probs. Followed the rules of CC, stayed true with my logging and pumped up the exercise. Lost weight. and now fighting the last DAMN 5 lbs. So I know in advance I won't be the Biggest loser, I will be fighting for Green to Come out on top. GO GREEN!
Ragin, I will be in the same sitch.. taking my last baby on her Senior year spring break and I know I am not going to have a scale at the place we are renting. It's ok, they only care if you miss more than 2 weeks. You go girl
Wild: Glad to see you girl, how is that new puppie doing? Let's vow to make it happen this challenge!

OK guys, I need advice-- I'm going on spring break tomorrow morning to Bermuda (yay!) to get some destination wedding planning done. That's all well and good, but how will I maintaing my healthy eating when i will be eating out so much?? It's been happening here in connecticut too... my fiancee will want to go out to lunch at a Thai place, with a BUFFET, and I try to eat healthy and maintain portion control, but I come homw and think hmm... I have no idea how many calories were in that pad thai, or that tofu yellow curry-- then it's hard to motivate to try to meet my goal the rest of the day since I don't know if I've underestimated or overestimated lunch wildly. Anyone know where to get stats for foods like Thai or Chinese? Thanks!!
Good luck Greenies!! I'll be weighing in tomorrow morning before my flight... today I was 143, down about a pound from week zero, so hopefully I can maintain that loss for the weigh in tomorrow!
arl, have you looked under the food browser on here?? there is alot of resterants, fast foods listed and does list the calories for there foods.... it mite help ya.... also, on vacation try to eat healthy foods, drink lots of water and get some exerise in.... but most of all have fun!!!! see ya when you get back.
What's up Green Team!!
I've got week one in and I've lost 3 lbs for our team. So good luck to all of you! Hope we beat the socks off of the other teams!
~ Stacey
Go Stacey!! Go Green!!
Wildntaken-- I have looked at the food browser on here, but unfortunately there is a lot of fast food -- which I am trying to avoid!! -- but not a lot of info on foods like chinese, thai, etc. Oh well!!
arl1623: Have you tried looking up the nutritional information for phad thai on google? Sometimes, I look at other websites to find estimates for things that I might eat out in restaurants. I like this one: The Daily Plate and Diet Facts. These two are recipes with some nutritional facts but they look pretty close to the daily plate site: vitacost and All Recipes. Typically I will average out the calorie count for a few different sites and that way I can get a decent guess-timate for the kind of calories I am putting into my body. I would definitely pay attention to the portion size, however. Remember that restaurants usually serve heaping portions (which is actually 2-3 servings) and that a serving is usually much less than what you are going to get in a restaurant setting.
Also, take caution about bringing home those left overs because they are sooooo tempting when they sit in your fridge! The links I gave you will take your right to the Phad Thai recipes ... but look at the rest of the site and see if it will help you to get a really good guess-timate of the calorie and nutrtional facts on other foods you might be eating.
Hope that helps! Have a great time in Bermuda ... I am SOOOOO jealous!
stacey: Congratz on the loss! Woo Hoo! Don't you love it when you get a great week in? I sure do! I feel good about my loss this week as well ... especially since I am just recovering from a plateau!
wildntaken: Thanks for the info on the deficit challenge! I think I will likely join the one in April. That sounds like a great way to set up small losing goals for myself!
betzc: Thanks so much for making me feel better about the little vacation I am taking. I will make sure I weigh in both the week before and the week after getting back. I am glad that I am not the only one in that boat ... I do hope you enjoy your trip, too!
To those who have yet to weigh in ... good luck, I hope you are all losers!![]()
Go GREEN! ~Gwen~
GRRRRR - I've been losing the same 1.5 to 2 pounds for the last 3 weeks. At least I had a small loss to add to the team - .6 pounds.
It's been really hard on me emotionally, going from losing 5 pounds a week at the beginning to way less than I know is healthy for me to lose - 2 pounds a week, when will you knock on my door?!
It's good to see that everyone else is going strong - GO GREEN!
Hey all. Looks like we all did a great job for the cause. And just remember, a loss is a loss. No matter how small. For anybody who stayed the same or even had a gain? Congrats on being true to this journey. And what I mean by that is on this internet venue there is plenty of opportunity to just put out a lot of bull. That is what I love about my comrads here at CC. By being true to yourself, it is proof that you want to succeed. Keep on Keepin ON!
