Hi, I joined a few days ago and would just like to introduce myself a little. I'm a 22 yr old female college student who also works 4 days a week. I'm 5"7' and weight 230, I would like to lose 90-100 lbs. I have a med. frame and I've struggled with weight my entire life. I'm starting by change what I eat, I love fast food which is my biggest problem and I HAVE to kick it out of my life. Also I need to become more active, I stand and move around at work but it's not enough. I would like to make a few friends on here.

Welcome to CC!  I can completely relate to you because I started CC at 226.  I'm 5'5" and a lot older but still needed to lose a lot.  The good news is that it can be done.  The better news, you already did the hardest part, realizing that you need to make a change and deciding to do something about it!

It was really daunting to me to think about the sheer amount of weight I needed to lose, so I started with a goal to lose 10 pounds.  Instead of trying to incorporate everything at one time, I started with one thing at a time.  First thing, cut out fast food.  It was hard, but once I started preparing my own food, it really opened my eyes to how poorly I was eating.

Next I decided to take a walk after dinner.  Nothing too strenuous, just a few blocks.

I would highly recommend breaking your weight loss into little steps like this.  Mentally it is much easier to wrap your head around than, I need to lose 90 pounds.

I've been around for a while and am not planning on leaving anytime soon because I still have work to do.  Feel free to add me as a friend and let me know if you need anything.

Thanks for the advice! I've been trying to take small steps at a time, lt's hard for me, I get a lot of cravings when I'm in town, but so far so good :D The only "fast food" I eat is now subway. I've bought a few magazines with some healthy recipes :D

Speaking of small steps, do you own a pedometer?  My iPod nano has one built in and I track my steps each day.  Try to set a target for yourself that is more than you're doing today.  Mine is 10K steps/day.

I had one...it must have fallen off one day at work :( I never did find it. I've been meaning to get another one, just haven't yet :P
