now im not going to consumer 30 dollars worth of food in 2 weeks, especially since i have meal for the cafeteria.

Hi Sohpiecore! Cupasoups are yummy, but they're really high in sodium, and don't really give you any good nutrition. If you're adventurous with cooking, then I would recommend getting things like dried beans and split green peas. You can make a really easy split pea soup in about 1/2 a day if you have a slow cooker, and with the beans, you can let them soak in water to make them rehydrate, and then add some diced tomatoes and chili powder, and voila! Vegetarian chili!
Also, brown rice, whole wheat flour, and dried fruits are some other things that I would recommend to have in your pantry, and they should easily last until next semester if you keep them in an airtight container, in the cupboard.
Hope this helps!
If you're stuck with cafeteria food, maybe a case of drinks or cereal. You can keep bagels and muffins if you have a freezer.
What about bottled water? Pretzels.
Or, you could treat your friends to a meal.
What I did this year (the supermarkets at home are so much cheaper than the ones at uni) was stock up on non-perishable foods which I could use for the base of a meal, so I only have to buy a few fresh ingredients at a time :).
Things I found useful were:
Dry wholewheat spaghetti
Tinned tomatoes
Tinned tuna
Wholewheat cous cous
Rice
Noodles
Jars of pasta sauce
Hope that kind of helps :)
