booster1: That looks good. I used to buy uncooked chick peas all the time and eat them for almost every meal (I'm a college student). Lentils are nutricious and cost-effective. I got kind of addicted though...

shg_chiquita: Squash is the in thing right now, not sure I'd know what to do with it. I don't have time for more than heat/ grill type activities...

Oh, does anyone else feel tempted to buy artificially sweetened cola and "Skinny Cow"-like things when they're in the grocery store? I'm there and I'm always tempted, but I know I'll go through it in like a few days. It's not worth the money!

Luckily, our freezer is sort of inconvenient to go to (we have a large cellar door in the floor of our shed that leads down to the cellar), so we often forget about it/don't bother.

qmwillcand: lucky to have a freezer in the basement. I'm such an artificial sweetener addict. I think it's because the idea of the chemicals stresses me out, so if they're in the house I tend to eat them BECAUSE I'm stressed. I guess the solution is not to buy them then, eh? :).

Latinamodel: Tiger's milk bars? Maybe we don't have them in Canada?

Uh oh. I just pointed out that I was Canadian and unintentionally used "eh" in a post. For shame...

brown rice

eggs

milk

fish (perch)

steak

cereal

frozen vegetables

cherries

5 grain bread

peanut butter

LOL. It's hard not to watch Hockey Night in Canada, esp. if there's a fan in the house. I've never tried those bars, but they look good. Maybe I just wrote them off as being like high-calorie starbucks-like concoctions... How are they doing for calories?

*shakes fist*. In that case, I'd watch it, eh? I heard the same thing about "Football Day in America"...

They are my sweet tooth fix at lunchtime, and they are super yummy imo. I've had friends that tried them and didn't like them, but it's because they don't like coffee.

140 cals per 35g bar. We mostly get them from Walmart, but our grocery store (Sobeys, who I believe are associated with Loblaws) and Shoppers Drug Mart carries them. $2-$3 for a box of 5.

Nah, as long as you can tell a story involving Don Cherry's crazy suit jacket and be arrogantly opinionated about either the Montreal Canadiens, TO Maple Leafs or the Boston Bruins, you're good.
