Gross Fast Food Stories

Quote  |  Reply
Mine is when I was at a Mcdonalds and saw a worker drop a patty on the ground, pick it up, put it on a bun, and hand it out the drive thru window. You can bet I called the customer service hotline on that dimwit!

yall know its not just fast food where people do gross things right?  Ive heard some unimaginable stuff from higher class restaurants...

the reality is you never really know for sure what your eatting..unless you grow it and prepare it yourself :-P
I worked at Starbucks and when people were rude and high-strung from too much caffeine, I would give them decaf. Saw it as a favor to the world when I was a self-righteous 18-year-old.
What I learned though... be nice, sugar-coated even, to anyone handling your food. Do not mess with people who are making your food ever! Even if it means blaming yourself: maybe you didn't clarify what you wanted, etc. If you are really really nice, they will feel worse about giving you bad food.
My husband used to order those big soft pretzels at the movie theater.  One day, the employee wiped the sweat off of his forehead with his hand and then used the same hand to pick up the pretzel.  Needless to say, my husband refused the pretzel.
It wasn't a fast food place, but me and my boyfriend went to this place called Movie and a Grill or something. We waited for at least an hour for our appetizer. Once they brought it out, it was burnt. Then they brought us our food about 15 minutes later. My boyfriend ordered a fish fry. He waited another 15 minutes to get some tartar sauce. Finally he bit into it and it was still frozen. It was disgusting. We will never go there again!
I agree with some here that said it doesn't matter if it's fast food place or a classy restaurant. Back in the old days, I used to work in these places, and it's not the place, it's the people working there :)

On another note, I have now had food poisening from McDonalds twice. Same symptoms, dizzy, diarreah, sweats, chills, weak. First time was from a McChicken, 2nd time from a cheeseburger. I hadn't eaten at MacDonalds for about 15 years after the first time they made me sick, and wouldn't you know it, the VERY FIRST time i did, I got sick....LOL LOL LOL.

Needless to say, I WILL NOT ever grace the place with my presence again.
I'm guilty of filling the Decaf Canister with Espresso and gave out free re-fills. The customers were really likeing the coffee! Haha. Yes I know it was mean. But DAM it was funny! One lady came up four times and I gladly gave her more.

(Man I was an evil person. Or does it make me still evil because I still think its really funny. Aaanyways...)

Umm, Gotten sick from Mc D's, got the runs from a Subway VegiMax (never getting one ever again. At least I know the Chicken Teriyaki is safe) and found a ball of hair from a Chinese Buffet.

Man, This thread should have a warning on it. Im about to go to Montana's and now im kinda weary...

Oh well. Just be a 'good' customer. Right.
raz:  you should seriously reconsider giving people who specifically ordered decaf caffinated coffee.  there are certain people...example...cancer patients, people on beta blockers, heart patients; that cannot have caffine and they could have serious health issues if they consume these types of drinks...just a little reminder.
It's not really all that disgusting to think of a burger hitting the floor and being eaten when really you've just handled money and are then going to hold your burger without washing your hands. I would imagine there would be way more germs on money than the floor. I always thought it was funny when customers would give me a dirty look for making their pizza without gloves on when I would wash and sanitize my hands right in front of them, and then they would eat the pizza with their own filthy hands.

sick kid washed his hands then used his mouth to put on his food handlers gloves and sneezed all over them, turned around and said 'can i help you?'. argh. we left.
We have health code ratings on all the restaurants here in North Carolina.  One time my wife and I went to our favorite sushi restaurant.  We would go almost once a week.  She noticed a sanitation code of something like 80 got home and checked on line what the reason was.  Live and dead cockroaches were found.  Temps and stuff wrong, but the disgusting thing was they were hit for a cook using the bathroom and not washing before preparing food.

We haven't been back since.

Yeah I was thinking about that after... Felt kinda bad.
I worked at Papa John's in college.  some of the employees there would make pizzas out of dough they dropped on the ground, most of them were drunk, and one of them used to have sex in the walk-in refrigerator.  Ew.

Note: I was not part of these antics.  I didn't work in the store; just delivery.
Oh my. I lost feeling in my arms if I was in there for more than a few seconds, I can't imagine removing any clothing. Geez your naughty bits would fall off.
I can't tell you the number of times I've been tempted to spit on a mean or rude or difficult customer's food!  One time a customer even gave me the finger because the kitchen was slow in preparing his food.  Like *I* could make his burger cook any faster!

But I'm too nice a person to do that, and anyway, I'd get fired if I did.  But I have given regular Coke to a very difficult customer who ordered Diet.  Suppose I should feel bad but I don't.  I really really don't.

Don't hassle at fast food counters or drive-throughs either.  They're like 3 different ways to ring up every order.  Some are more expensive than others.  And you'd never know by which method you were charged unless you're a regular.
I used to worked at Burger king for almost two years.
THere was this one lady that worked in the kitchen with me and she would be making someones sandwich and she would lick her fingers after touching a tomatoe or something and just continue on with making the sandwich gross..She also got into trouble for going to the bathroom and taking a bowel movement and a woman was in there while she was and Linda didnt even bother washing her hand and then came back into the kitchen and started making food without cleaning her hands. The woman came over there and talked to our store manager.hehe I always made sure if I ate there she didnt make my food..there are a lot of nasty people out there handling your food, that's why I dont eat out..EWWWWW
I was always very clean with what i served, i always wore gloves on both hands and kept my hands washed constantly.

This really convinces me not to eat at any fast food restaurants. And scares me to eat at any restaurants at all. But what do you do when you go on vacation? Esp. when the people you go with like fast food- eww!
Try subway or other places where you can SEE them put the food together in front of you.

Or just say, "no thanks" and take a trip to the grocery store and buy enough to tide you over until you're home.
if you want some more NASTY fast food appitite-killers just read Chew on This

forgot who it's by, though...
That is disgusting.  I haven't been to MC or other fast food places for years, but next time I do, I'll make sure not to piss off the servers.  Of course, there's a lot of lousy service at higher end restaurants.  Like I went to this Korean restaurant last week and the food was all putrid and stale (apparently they find it a waste to throw out any food).  And you should beware of buffet restaurants, because I've heard of stories where people sneeze into the food, touch/poke at the food with their hands, etc.
customers shouldnt piss of the workers, but they SHOULDNT have to fear that if they do piss off workers, their food might be severely mishandled. regardless of a customers attitude, a worker has NO RIGHT to mishandle the food. the worker is getting paid at the end of the day. the worker signed up for the job--which means he signed up for rude customers occasionally mixed in the bunch. its just really immature and rude to mistreat someones food because you feel mistreated.

on that note, so glad i gave up mcdonalds and bk 10 yrs ago when i was 8. i dont even really frequent restaurants much due to the lack of trust i hold in servers. people are just dirty.
