Do you know that there is a huge difference in calories from diet to regular coke?
People have done that to e before at KFC and I am a good customer. I think they thought it would just be funny.
It doesn't help that regular coke gives me a headache for some reason, one of the chemicals in it just really makes me feel off.
Shame on you.
On the upside I haven't had too many bad xperiences. Except morrisons cafe i ordered scampi, bit into it and you could see all the scampie poo... never eaten scampi ever again.
Ok, I have to comment...a while ago there was a post regardin Wendy's chili. I worked there for a couple years, and although they did use hamburger patties from the day before, it did not include ones that fell on the floor or anything else like that. Also, they do mix the ingredients in store rather than just opening a can labelled "chili".
Apparently the one I worked at was pickier about what happened to the food...I'm just happy that NO ONE has brought up that bogus finger in the chili story. That honestly pissed me off from the start.
Once, when I ate at Uno's Chicago grill, I ordered the bake stuffed chicken. I started to eat and noticed it was getting a little chewy. When I inspected it, I found that the ends of the chicken were cooked, but the whole middle section was raw (not just pink - COMPLETELY RAW). They were really nice about it though and gave me a free meal. Yuck.
Also, I've noticed that Stop and Shop can by a bit unsanitary at times. Once, when I was looking for a block of cheese, I found about 6-7 blocks all outdated and all COVERED in mold. Gross. You know how grapes usually come in a bag with holes? Well, over this past summer they were having a sale on red grapes and there was dirt caked all over the grapes -- probably due to someone shoving the open bags against the ground or something.
That McDonalds is across the street from the funeral home where they found eight decomposing bodies and random jars of ashes. All but one body was identified.
There was a local middle school kid doing a science experiment in my area, that made headlines.
She went around to fast food places and gathered samples of ice (from machines where you fill your own cup of soda) and toilet water. After testing the samples... the toilet water was cleaner!!!!! Gross, one of the few things you'd think to be safe at a fast food joint, the ice.... and no, not even close.
The sad thing is, there are youth-oriented "comedy" movies and shows now that actually promote "pranks" like putting semen in burgers or loogeys in salads, etc at fast-food joints as something "hilarious" to do.
Yeah, contributing to the breakdown of civil society and our inability to have a meal out or trust others anymore - what a riot.
As far as I'm concerned, people like Johnny Knoxville and ... what is that idiot's name that always gets naked? Oh yeah, Steve-o. Anyway, they should jump off a freaking cliff.
As for the toilet water and the ice thing, I worked at a pizza place that had just opened and wasn't even a year old when I started working there. One day we noticed people were getting a lot of mysterious black chunks in their ice. After complaining to the store owner about it several times, he finally told us there was nothing he could do about it and since no customers complained to him, he wasn't going to make an effort. If we wanted something done, we had to do it. He was too cheap to pony up the cash to have a repair man look at it.
So one day we inspected the mysterious black chunks and assumed it was mold as the ice machine had never been cleaned. The ice machine also started to not fill up. It would always read as full when it was empty. My fiance and I, who both worked there, took it apart, emptied out the ice, and attempted to clean it out. It still read as full and refused to make ice. When new ice finally did drop down, it was covered in the funky black chunks.
We tore apart the machine and discovered someone had put a protection cover on backwards over the panel where the ice was made. When the ice would drop, it would rub against styrofoam that was dark grey, shred off, stick to the ice, and look like mold. The gunk from it stuck onto the sensors and they would always read full because they couldn't read eacother, as if ice were blocking the path of the sensors.
Long story short, my fiance and I solved the ice problem, off the clock, two hours after our shift had ended, cleaned out the entire machine, ridded the whole thing of the mysterious mold, and the damned store owner has yet to say a thank you. I eventually got fired for calling him a cheap bastard and a lowsy boss.
He's done some gruesome things. Served molded over pizza crusts, cheese, spoiled meats and vegetables. Pizza that's fallen on the floor, re-using the cups (which are disposable for a reason). Once I caught him taking meat balls off a place and putting them back in the serving dish after the woman who took them was going to throw them away.
Needless to say, on my morning shifts I measured the coffee right out of the container. I am certain that place is going to be shut down by health board soon!
These stories are awful! I stopped eating fast food after I read Fast Food Nation. Before that, I ate at Jack in the Box and got HORRIBLE food poisoning. I couldn't leave the house for eight days.
I can't believe you people that work in restaurants and have seen people drop food, spit in food, or get food out of a trashcan and serve it to people. I would honestly start yelling at a person and probably even punch a coworker in their face in front of everybody. Then I'd have a discussion with the manager and tell everyone what kind of crap goes on with their food. I don't understand how people can just let it happen like that. I wouldn't care if I got fired, the feeling of beating a jackass would make up for it.
Okay, My room mate worked in a restaurant that made their house dressing by adding pot to it. What is amazing is they never got caught and it was a favorite of all the senior citizens.
The worst is a woman that made a pot of coffee out of her own urine. A customer made her mad so she thought she would get even.
Ok this doesn't really have to do with the food, but I used to run food at a bingo hall and the lady in the back was literally insane. She 'jokingly' through a knife at the other cook that worked back there, fortunately she missed. And they KEPT HER. I must say I was freaked. I didn't continue working there for much longer after that.
i went to a chinese buffet last week and there there was a bunch of seafood so i had a couple of the big new zealand mussels... inside one of them there was a baby crab. it was still moving!!!!!!!!
then when we asked for the bill thee server spilt water all over me!
when I found a HUGE fly (the ones where it's like greenish-and-shiny-and-you-can-see-the-eyes- kind of big) in my egg mcmuffin. My pet peeve is when all the stuff in a burger or sandwich aren't lined up, so naturally, I opened up my egg mcmuffin to line up the egg and ham and bread, and low and behold, on the egg was a squished dead fly and the egg around the fly had turned greenish. Unfortunately, I had already taken a bite before I did that, so I had already eaten one of its wings. When I showed my mom this, she ran to the bathroom to throw up (yeah~ she was the one who threw up, not me). I regret to this day not sueing them for that. I just got a refund for it when I showed it to the manager. ![]()
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
