Gross Fast Food Stories

Quote  |  Reply
Mine is when I was at a Mcdonalds and saw a worker drop a patty on the ground, pick it up, put it on a bun, and hand it out the drive thru window. You can bet I called the customer service hotline on that dimwit!

Ewww...this whole thread has made me sick...I think I'm traumatized by fast food restaurants now. HA HA. Not that I eat there often (once in awhile at subway or McDonalds.) but now I might reconsider it..Ack!

I really don't have any stories..other then when my uncle was a teenager he worked at KFC. Something must have really disturbed him while working there because he's been a vegetarian now for over 30 some years and blames working there as the reason. He always said you really don't want to know what they do to that stuff..if you did you would be sick and never touch it again either.....

AHHHHHHH! Wow, this really has turned me off fast food.

I kinda have one.... Okay well this was on the local news, a chinease resteraunt called china king was going to use a dead deer that got hit by a car in there food! On the news it said that a passerby saw the chinease people carry it back to their resteraunt and drag it into the kitchen, and there was blood smeared on the floor, and the passerby called 911 haha. Also on the news it said that there has been reports from that same place as using CAT meat, yes CAT!! Needless to say, im afraid to order chinease food from that place...

Im always afraid of getting regular coke, everytime i order diet.

My brother and I were eating at a Krystal's some years ago when they still had those squeeze bottles of ketchup on the tables.  We watched a young boy pick up the ketchup bottle, turn it upside down, and suck on it like a baby bottle.

I was working at a 7-11 about 22 years ago. They had chili dogs. We just kept adding chili to the dispenser. 7-11 is open 24x7.

Well, I don't think anyone cleaned out the chili dispenser. Ever. On my last day, the chili ran out. So I went to top it off. When I opened it, it was moldy. I had eaten a chili dog earlier that day. That was the last chili dog  for me!

I used to work with a cook that used to wipe her nose when she had a cold, then go right back to flipping burgers.  A customer saw this and it grossed them out.  I hadn't realized she was doing that all day long.

Another (not restaurant related) episode of grossness was when my daughters were young, they used to like Ramen Noodles with a can of corn thrown in.  I was talking to one of them as I opened the package of Ramen and put it in the boiling water.  About 30 seconds later there were 6 dead flies in the Ramen.  I immediately went to the store (just down the road, they pulled all the Ramen on the shelf, gave me a refund, and then about 6 months later I got a letter of apology from the makers of Ramen along with 6, count 'em, 6 coupons for 25 cents off my next Ramen purchases.  Yell  Never again will I eat those freeze dried packets of who knows what.

1) A friend's brother used to work at KFC.  Said it was not uncommon for several of the male employees, one in particular, to stirl the mashed potatoes with his.. *ahem.. "tool" late at night when customers died down and someone was less likely to see.

2) Another friend almost sued KFC one time when he ended up eating deep fried rat.  The way the rat fell looked as it got cooked it looked like a drumstick and he only realized that it wasn't chicken when he took a bite and these little tendrils drew out between him and his "chicken" (brains...)

I haven't eaten KFC since...

Its quite interesting to see al these posts, I have one rule, never send back your food to the kitchen for modifications, if its not what you ordered or there is something wrong you ask for a discount. You never know what goes on in the kitchen..

Reading some posts with examples of handling food after touching hair or face is quite funny to me.. for the people that post things like that never ever eat in restaurants in Asia then unless its a 5 star hotel... they prepare food in bowls on the floor, rarely wash their hands, will do their hair again and then make your food etc etc.. cockroaches, ants, rats are everywhere around town..

My stomack got used to it i guess.... yes i do get the occasional diarreah but.. no food poisoning yet... when i go back home actually, as i am not used to everything being that clean i have more stomack problems there.. too hygienic i guess.

I guess some people do not respect the line of work they do.. and dont respect the fact of working in the catering business.. In our hotel, it was difficult to put in place a high level of hygienic procedures as no one has ever taught cambodians these rules. They know the punishement if they are ever caught.. here i make them copy 50 or 100 times the rules that must be followed and believe me after a few of them had to copy they paid much more attention...

A TacoBell was closed in my area a few years back when inspectors found feces in the meat.  I've also found a raffle ticket in a whopper.  A friend found a pube in a cup of coffee...He fished it out and said "you have to expect stuff like that" and drank it.

When I was in Highschool some guy at Domino's pizza was caught masturbating onto the pizzas he was making...

Fast food is gross all by itself ;)

Well I don't have  gross fast  food stories because I never eat fast food, but I do hate it when you ask for MORE coffee in a restaurant, they touch the the entire cup's edge with their hands and put more coffee in it. I never drink that.

One time I went to this restaraunt the waiter had the whole tray, will all the plates of food, he grabbed his stomach and Vomitted(Threw Up) all over the food I got up from the table and walked out without paying

Videos of what some Domino's workers did with the food: http://consumerist.com/5210648/

At least these people were caught...

At Burger King a few years ago I ordered a chicken salad. The cucumber on the salad was growing mould on it when I unwrapped it, so I took it to the counter and asked for another. A few minutes later a guy brought 'another salad' over, but I knew it was the same salad just with the cucumber taken out. I was thinking that if the cucumber was mouldy how safe was the chicken? Anyhow, I took it back and the same guy very quickly offered my money back and a free chicken burger. Boy did I look through the burger for nasties when I got it, but it was good actually. Haven't eaten at BK since then, or any takeaways since Dec 2008, just to see how we don't need to eat it. Kids are happy with that too, we don't miss it at all.

I may have posted this already, but if a customer came in that I disliked I'd suck on their pickles before putting them in their sammich!Laughing

I have a really gross one from when I worked at BK years ago.  There was this guy who just broke up with his girlfriend, and her new boyfriend came in to order.  The guy took his burger and went in the back room and um....planted his seed among the condiments before serving it to the boyfriend.

I think I'm gonna go throw up now...Sealed

I work at McDonald's and everyone I work with is really nice, most of them are super hard-working and they're friendly to everyone, just trying to make a living.  I haven't ever seen anyone spit in food, but honestly it's not the most sanitary food ever.  The cooks don't wear gloves (they do wash their hands) and even the crew members touch the french fries, trying to put them in the little paper containers, and our hands aren't too clean either- we pick your trash up from everywhere (I HATE when people think we're like a real restaurant and leave their trash all over the table.. if you want to treat me like your waitress, tip me!), and we touch the ice cream cones, etc., right after touching money.  It's not sanitary.

One of the few things my city is know for is Burger King guy... he took a bath in the dish area of the store for his birthday and posted it on youtube. Needless to say, everyone on that shift is no longer employed there...
