Gross Halloween Candy
Anybody remember those disgusting black and orange wrapped peanut butter candy thingies?
When my sister and I were younger we'd get so grossed out when we got those trick-or-treating...
What Halloween candy do you think is yucky?

I clicked on the baked beans link and got lemonheads. I love lemonheads. Don't like candy corn much but I'll eat it. I'll pretty much eat anything if it's candy.
yeah i noticed that! stupid link! theres an icon for baked beans at the bottom though!
We usually throw a Halloween party right befor eHalloween, so we just give out whatever was cool and leftover from the party. Last year, we gave out gummy bodyparts, sour cotton candy, ring pops, and popcorn balls - along with the usual mini chocolate bars and such.
Gotta say, I really dislike popcorn balls.
Worst thing I got while trick-or-treating? Religious pamplets... The juice box was kind of odd as well.

Actually, I love it when people do this, but then I'm kind of weird that way. I have a nice collection of them, right next to the copies of The Watchtower from some lady who thinks she's "ministering" to me, and a free copy of The Book of Mormon.

There was a dentist on our street who gave out tooth brushes for Halloween.
We so egged his house.
Was that YOU that egged MY house last Friday night??!!

Really, I can turn anything down as long as it isn't chocolate. Amazingly enough, I don't really enjoy most of the candies (though I've been known to eat a spoonful of sugar - go figure).
We still have candy from last halloween. Apparently my kids prefer lollipops to anything else. I think I'm just going to give out dumdums this year.
I would so NOT go to your house if this is your idea of a treat.
Haven't you seen the lollipop rings? Look just like a pacifier. But no - chocolate is my idea of a treat.
Last year, on the news, they were talking about this little guy [3 yrs old] going out on his first trick or treat [that he would remember] with his dad. And, the FIRST house they went to...apparently, parents weren't home and college aged son was there throwing a party. When the little guy rang their door bell, they opened the door and threw TRASH in his bag that was filled with cig. butts, half eaten food, empty bottles of beer, etc...making the boy cry and not wanting to go to any more houses. Damn, that was so cruel. I remember seeing that on TV last year feeling so bad for that little boy.
For me, all candy is bad. Seriously, don't like any of it...esp. anything with the word SOUR on it.
Except Chocolate. But, chocolate is not candy. It's a vitamin that should be eaten daily. Or, so I keep telling myself. :)
Oh henry's. and cow tales (not real tails) these .
We are never home Dh seems to have to always work that day and I take the kids. I hand out (as I walk) Halloween pencils, eraser, fangs, spooky straws, temp tattoos/stickers.
My kids love the house that give the snack size goldfish, mini popcorn, or chips. We have one house that hands out full size bars and another that hands out lindt chocolate (the kids don't know they like them they never make it to their lips)
Halloween is better then Christmas. It's a no pressure holiday. No "oh who did I forget" "No who's house is it this year?" No "Oh my look at that Creidit card bill"
Hate Bit-o-Honey's! Yick! Hard and not good.
Don't like Sugar Daddy's or Sugar Babies. (They are not babies made out of sugar and they stick to your teeth!)
A few more of my least favorite things:
Dots
Now n Later
Hot Tamales
(probably many more but I'm drawing a blank!)
One that I do like, that is a bit unusual, at least because of the name:
Chick-o-Stix: it's acutally a small nugget of sugary peanut butter rolled in cocunut. No chickens die in the making of this product! Tastes yummy, too!
LOVE those peanut butter kisses. Yummm. Peanut butter kisses and Mary Janes are two different candies; like them both. Also love Boston baked beans (those candy coated peanuts), Reese's peanut butter cups, Peanut M&Ms, Payday, Butterfingers, Heath bars, anything with chocolate and peanut butter, and Hot Tamales.
Hate those sour candies (like Starburst and Skittles), candy corn, plain M&Ms, plain chocolate (has to have nuts in it), and anything with caramel.
I think the only 3 Halloween candies I will not eat are:
- Tootsie rolls/Tootsie pops - bleccch!
- That cheap, disgusting Dubble Bubble pink, hard-as-a-rock bubble gum
- Circus Peanuts
This is a bit off topic, but has anyone noticed how early holiday items are being set out? I was surprised to see Halloween stuff in stores about 2 months ago... some stores even have Christmas merchandise for sale!
Makes me feel like I can't enjoy the current holiday when the next one is already displayed ![]()
Personally, I can never get enough of the holidays, starting with Halloween, followed by Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and this year, Hanukkah with my boyfriend. January 2nd is always such a letdown for me. I used to feel the same way about holiday goods being put out so soon, but I guess some people actually start buying early, so it's a win-win for the customer and the retailers.
I'm a little taken aback by all the candy corn hate! I love candy corn :D
But when I was younger, I would always trade away reese's peanut butter cups. I've never liked peanut butter in my chocolate.
As a kid, I loved trick or treating for free candy. Most of the time, I'd get the ones I didn't like, though, which made it a real treat when I received something that I liked! As a kid, I:
Hated:
Candy corn, mellocreme pumpkins, taffy, peanut butter chews, black and orange jelly beans, dots, caramel candies, licorice, butterfingers
Loved:
Kit kat bars, peanut butter cups, halloween gummy bears, caramel apple lollipops, nerds, twix, crunch bars, smarties
Buuut I don't like any of those now =[ Except maybe the gummy bears and maybe the lollipops XD
i HATE (and have always hated) candy corn. and I think it's weird to receive popcorn balls. don't like butterfingers or kit kats or twizzlers either. There's a bunch of other things, but the main offender is candy corn. oh! and those random unnamed hard pieces of caramel or butterscotch.
i love fruity candy like starburst, skittles, and ring pops. as for chocolate, my 2 favorites are snickers and twix.
I pretty much love almost every Halloween candy out there...the only exception I can think of are those chewy-type lollipop things. I don't know if anybody knows what I'm talking about but they're absolutely horrid.
OH and my LEAST favorite candy out of everything I ever got were TOOTSIE ROLLS. Those were SO disgusting, and I always ended up with more than half my candy bag being full of those!
candy corn, chocolate, marshmellows, tootsie rolls.
Any candy that contains dairy is gross to me because I can't eat it. x(

hahahaha!!!
What about people that give out pennies?!
WTF? Is it 1934 or something?
Amazingly we had both of these people (a toothbrush and a penny giver) on the same street in the neighboorhood I grew up in! Also one year I got a Christmas ornament of santa standing on a basketball. I still have it and we hang it every year ;)
