Gross Question..

Is it safe to have sex during one's period?  Or is it risky or something?  Is that even something that people do?

yes it's fine, and plenty of people do it.

Okay good to know. Thanks =)
Having sexual relations while one is on her period can actually ease cramping. ;)

It can get messy, and it's not always comfortable, but it's perfectly safe if you choose to do it... don't count on it to prevent pregnancy though. It's theoretically possible that the egg might still be hanging around if you're a late ovulator.

I got pregnant 3 times after having sex on the last day of my period. So it can happen. So like kajikit said don't count on it for pregnancy protection.

A dark towel you no longer love (it's seen better days) under your bottom can help with the messy issue.

Never been with a man who was even slightly bothered by it.  Frankly, I think most of them are just happy and honored to be getting some!

It's perfectly fine.  Like I recommend folding a big towel and having it under y'all, or going at it in the shower!  Like cd said, it can help to ease cramps and kajikit is right- please do still be careful!

My first bf didn't want to even on my last day when there was almost nothing coming out. My current one doesn't care, even if I'm at my heaviest...though I tend to not want to on the first 2 days because it's heavy, messy and I feel yucky anyways.
