I know this might be gross, but I was wondering if anyone has been experiencing this.
Ever since dieting/eating healthy I am ALWAYS going #2 in the bathroom. Before the diet I did #2 maybe once a day, now I do #2 maybe 3 times a day! Thats crazy! I mean it doesn't bother me much, I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, I think its sooooo werid.
Why is this???
HELP!

probably cuz you're eating more fiber. fiber is really bulky AND makes you more regular. so there's more that needs to go and it goes on a regular basis. fun, huh?
maybe your eating more fiber
I think that's your body saying "way to go!! Your not eating all that crap that clogs you up so now I will let you poop alot!" (hehe)
The same thing happened to me. I think it's probably the fiber as well. People tend to get more fiber when eating healthy...even if they don't realize it.

So now you are starting to have normal bm's. Way to go!
Once you start eating healthier and incorporating more fiber into your diet, you will have regular BM (bowel movements). It's a good thing. I go twice a day and when I miss a day I increase th fiber. Plus it make you feel lighter (LOL).
That is a really good sign. Getting food out of your system faster protects against colon cancer because any possible carcinogens in the food are not sitting in your intestines for very long. I have had the opposite problem since I've been dieting. I have a hard time "going" and end up seeing the numbers on the scale go up if I'm not able to! It drives me crazy! I eat tons of fiber, too, so I don't know what's going on!
TOTALLY NORMAL!!! That's what you SHOULD be doing! :)
Ratin -- Are you drinking enough water? If not, the fiber can clog you up.

wiow thanks so much everyone for your responses!!! I just didn't know if it was normal to go 2-3 times per DAY!! Thats nuts! But if it's a good sign I'm all for it!
Thanks eveyrone, keep up the good work :)

3 times a day for me would be a bit much. My rear would be sore from all the cleaning.
I usually go once a day, and it feels pretty normal.

i go everytime i eat.
like clockwork now. eat and in 3 hours = out
i used to go only once a day.
when you eat the proper amt in a sitting the digestive system is not overwhelmed. it makes it easier to process.
plus what others already posted.

3 times a day is quite normal, that's what you should get if you eat the recommended amount of fibre and drink plenty of fluids. Otherwise everything is sitting there for 24 hours, possibly making you feel heavy.
As for getting a sore rear from all the cleaning, well, that's never happened to me. If it happens then you might be doing it a bit aggressively- be gentle with yourself!

Wow I am the same way 2 - 3 times a day, sometimes 4......Now I dont feel all alone ...lol
should i be concerned if im only at once every couple days? i eat the recommended amount of fiber and drink plenty of water....
nevermind.... i found another thread :)
if you're eating well you'll find in addition to going more often, it doesn't smell as bad!
I thought it was due to Fiber. But also I am a little worried, yesterday I might have went 5 or 6 times in ONE DAY! Thats nuts, before this diet (or increase cals/fiber/healthy eatting) I would go once or twice a day, which was normal. Now I'm always doing #2! AHH.. and I thought yesterday I went way too much I already went 4 times today and the day isnt over after I eat dinner I'm sure I'll go two more times! This is crazy isn't it. Its not like Im running to the bathroom every two seconds its a normal feeling when I have to go (its not a lot each time .. but STILL 6 is way too much)
Do you think it is just from fiber? I mean I do have ALOT of fiber. I had 3 HUGE salads, and TONS of veggies for both lunch & dinner yesterday in addition to whol grain stuff.. could this be it? I mean these werent small salad they were two huge plates.. could this be the only reason because my fiber intake is huge!
That brings me to another point, is too much fiber bad???
Answers/suggestions welcomed!!

i mean I feel completely fine, a lot light and not bloated but I didnt know should I be concerned??
agavioli, the ideal is to have a bm for each meal you eat, so if you eat 6 times a day, then you could ideally have 6 bm's a day. so even 6 a day is not extreme.
and your system may be cleaning itself out -- getting rid of stuff that's just been sitting around. that is definitely good.

Hi agavioli!
Warning: Poop Talk ahead! Put away your food now if you're squeamish :)
There is no rule at all about how many BM's are "normal".
I would be concerned if
1. They are very watery or runny
2. The coloring seems "off" to you (especially black)
3. They are very foul smelling
4. It's A LOT of BM at once
5. There is any blood (black stools can also mean blood)
6. You have any other symptoms such as fatigue, unwanted weight loss, fevers, abdominal pain (sounds like you don't)
7. Mucous in your BM's can also mean a problem absorbing but isn't all that abnormal in most people
Beyond that, stooling a lot may be a response to new foods. It may even be a food allergy! That's not uncommon either. Some people are allergic to foods and instead of getting hives they poo a lot. If it is really bothersome you, one of the first things your doctor might recommend is to start a food journal - write what you eat, how you feel, when you poo, if it's runny, etc.
Good luck with eating right! And I hope I didn't gross people out. I work in the health care profession so this is day-to-day stuff for me but I understand some people are squeamish about this stuff - thus the warning. :)

OMG Punkybrew & manawell you both were EXTREMEMLY HELPFUL!!! That does explain it, I eat 5-6 meals throughout the day so your reasoning makes sense if I eat that much thats how many stools I will have! make sense, I feel like its making up for all that time I was neglecting my body and now its just getting back to normal!
yay u both were so helpful! Also Punkybrew thanks a ton for listing out those symptoms .. I havent experienced any of them, soo I'm good to go!!! YAY, that was a HUGE relief. but I'll keep an eye out if any arise! thanks again :) :)
