ground turkey....what do I do with it?
Thanks!
Use it in spaghetti sauce.
Or in light "stroganoff" (ground turkey with 99% ff cream of muschroom soup).
Or make meatballs out of it.
I perfer it to ground beef in meatloaf.
You can put it in casseroles. If you want a more "meaty" flavor in a casserole or stovetop dish, add a dried packet of mushroom gravy seasoning, it cranks up the flavor.
Use it in tacos with taco seasoning.
Or turkey chili.
Or in shepard's pie.
Or with BBQ sauce as a sloppy joe.
Or in goulash.
Or in stuffed peppers.
Mmmmm... the craziest: We found ground turkey, 10 oz packs for .99 at the grocers a few weeks ago. Crazy go nuts!
Here's my favorite
Teriyaki Turkey Burgers!
1 lb ground turkey, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 thinly sliced green onion or chopped red onion, 1 egg. If the mixture is too most, add a little bread crumbs to it. Make 4 patties and BBQ or fry in nonstick pan which has been coated with a spray or two of Pam or spray olive oil. Buns 'n fixins on the side.
I like it so much I make patties and eat them alone w/ salsa lol
My favorite turkey recipe is Cranberry Turkey Bog Burgers. They are a Rachael Ray concoction. You can do a search for them at foodnetwork.com. I LOVE these burgers, they are moist and delicious and flavorful. YUM!
anything made with ground beef can be made with ground turkey. Turkey sloppy joes are great!
It's really good in stuffed peppers - if you like them.
Yeah, I've pretty much replaced anything I'd normally use ground beef in with ground turkey. Meatballs, burgers, tacos...pretty much anything along those lines.

mmmm! I'm going to try this one!
I'm with everyone above that has replaced everything made from ground beef with ground turkey, turkey burgers / patties / loaf is all good. I also use ground turkey for chilli and lasagne etc.
I love mincing onion, peppers & spinach and mixing it in my turkey burgers along with either spicy salsa or sundried tomatoes & olives
omg ground turkey is the best!!!you can use it in place of ground beef for any recipice it is sooo good
anything you use ground beef for you can use ground chicken or turkey.
Anything you normally would do with ground beef you can do with ground turkey. Meaty spag sauce, beefy mac, burgers, tacos, enchiladas, chili, etc. Here is one of my favorite recipes using ground turkey...it's got a little kick to it and if you use the Jenny-O extra lean ground turkey it's very very low cal and low fat. Easy and quick too!
Southwestern Goulash - Makes 5 good size servings and each serving is about 260 cals and 4 grams fat
1 cup (4oz) elbow macaroni 1 pound extra lean ground turkey 1/2 cup chopped onion 1 can (14oz) finely diced tomatoes undrained 2/3 cup frozen corn 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce 1 can (4 oz) chopped green chiles 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1/4 teaspoon salt
Cook the Macaroni according to package directions (for firm). Drain well and set aside.
Meanwhile, brown the ground turkey and onion together. Drain then and add in all remaining ingredients (except mac). Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Stir the cooked macaroni into the mixture and heat through. Serve with low fat shredded cheese and fat free crackers. Enjoy!
