Group starting Monday June 8th: Jillian Micheal's 30 Day Shred Challenge.
Looking for others who have done shred before but have left it sitting on the shelf too long, or who haven't tried it yet. We will all post our starting weights on Monday and check in weekly with current weights. If you haven't taken advantage of the 30 day free trial on Jillian Michael's website now would be the perfect time.
This will provide us with the incentive to follow through. Plus we can all be motivated by each other's success. We can share food ideas and general wellness suggestions. Weigh-ins will be on Mondays (this is done on purpose to help us watch ourselves on the weekends). On Monday our challenge board will open on the Games and Challenges forum and we can all post our starting weights.
So who's with me and tell me what's your game plan?
To get the ball rolling I'll start. I'm Rachel a mother of 2 under 5. I stay at home but I'm always busy running errands or with the kids. I do over 50 hrs of volunteer work a month, so I have very little spare time. I have the skinniest husband in the world who can eat whatever he wants and not gain a pound.
My weakness: snacking which my husband does constantly, and I always want to join in.
My game plan: I'm going to start with 3 pound weights for at least the first three days and work my way up from there. It's been a while since I did any strength training and I don't want to hurt myself at the beginning. I have not tried level two yet and so at the end of ten days I'm going to move on to level two, and then level three for the last ten. During the next 30 days I'm also going to detox -- cut out all the processed foods and snack on veggies.
My goal: I really want to lose that 20lbs that the cover says is possible. I will settle for 10 though.
Oh me! me! me! Pick me!
I have plateaud and I need something to boost me into action. And so this week I have been really bad!!! So this shoudl help! I will go out and buy it today! I have never done one of her dvds but have heard great things about it.
My goal is to be down 10 lbs by the end of 30 days. I have to watch the dvd before I make any other commitments.
I'm coming off a plateau as well. It got so discouraging that I gave up for a while. Right now though I'm highly motivated to get the weight off, it'll help to have other people with me so I have some accountability.
Nice to have you with me!
I'm in! I bought 30 Day Shred on Wednesday, so this is perfect timing for me to start. I'm 23, 207 (down from 230, YES!) 5' 4, Pastry Chef who works 60-70 hrs/wk, so i don't have much time. I like the idea of a 20 minute workout! I watched level 1 just to see what I was getting into. It looks tough, but it goes by quickly. Will definitely start out at level 1.
Coincidentally, I ordered these DVD's this morning. They won't be here until next week, but I'd love to do the challenge. I just joined this site a couple weeks ago. I already have some good (yet new) eating habits. I've kept a regular log for a few weeks now and starting using CC's over a week ago. I started trying to lose weight again because I recently had surgery and lost a couple pounds. I figured I might as well try to keep going. So, I'm almost under that 200 lb. mark (202) and GW is 125. If eating right, walking, and Jillian's DVD's don't help, I don't know what would! Good luck to everyone!
I just started it last week , I'm on level 2 now and level 3 looks pretty challenging!
Hi,
I have the Shred DVDs (a friend gave them to me after she didn't use them for months). I've watched one and it looks pretty good and I like how Jillian moves from one thing to the next so quickly. My goal will be to do it at least 6 days a week and I'm hoping to tighten up the flab in my abdomen! Its seems to be so hard after 40.
I'm using the CC for entering my calories and it really helps me see where the excess calories are coming from.
I apologize for my lame user name...it was picked for me by a far younger friend.
Do we just keep adding to this thread to report our progress?
Thanks!
What do I have to do to be part of this challenge? I want to play.
I think this is about the 10th time I've clicked on this thread and I think I'm finally ready to commit. So, I'm gonna start with you on Monday!
BTW, they have the first 2 "videos" on Comcast OnDemand.
I'll do it!
I'm really happy to see I'm not alone in this. On Monday I'll move the thread to the games and challenges board and have a link posted here. We'll all post our start weights and weigh in every Monday after that. Glad to have you all on board!
I would love to join the challenge! I just got through doing level 1 workout and boy does it work you out. I think I'm going to stay at this level for at least a week in a half and mix in pilates...what do you think? Question for all....how long did you stay at a level before progressing to the next? I wish you all luck!!!!
Javy83: I never moved on to level 2 yet, the first time around when I was doing the workout I also mixed in pilates. I find they helped me with some flexability and muscle control.
