Group tagged items together to create reoccuring Meals/Recipes
First off I have tried the recipes option and that does not work for what I am talking about. It just can't parse the items I am adding or will use generic types of what I am adding so I do not get an accurate caloric or nutritional count.
My issue is I have to constantly keep added the same 7 items from my tagged list just to create a lunch meal. I would like to be able to add tagged items into a recipe or meal so I don't have to spend so much time adding the same items day after day.
For example, I may have a roast beef sandwich and chips for lunch. I have to add...
- Bread 2 times because I use a specific kind of bread that I had to enter special
- roast beef
- Mayo
- Tomato
- Peperjack Cheese
- Chips
I have identical situations for a ham sandwich or pastrami sandwich as well. I also have this issue with dinners.
Can't their be a way to combine tagged items and group them as meals?
I want to use the tagged items because I have specifically added the nutritional info for the items and brands I eat. Combining the tagged items would give me an accurate nutritional and caloric count for that meal.
TIA for any assistance.
When you tag each of the 6 items above tag them all with the same tag ie. Beef sandwich. Then when you go to log it click on the tag icon (+), not Beef sandwich, on the right of the screen and it will add it all at once.
If your bread isn't in the database you have to add it seperately... but if the rest of the fillings are listed, you could make up a recipe for them and then tag that and add them all at once. It's a bit hard to believe that NONE of the foods you eat are in the database...
I'm glad you asked this and even more happy to find that there is a solution! I've been wondering the same thing as I have this problem at breakfast.
Life35,
Just saw your copy of the post by Clairelaine under another topic and it is a lifesaver. It is exactly what I was looking for and is way better than the recipe function.
Everyone should use this for their repeat meals it is great!!!!!!!!!!!!
