So I really need to get on the stick. I lost 15 pounds from february, but gained all of it back this summer when I totally binged. I'm really mad at myself and need to lose a lot of weight before I go on a cruise with my family and wear a bikini and stuff, y a know?

So, for teens who actually need to lose weight, we can support each other while we're dealing with school and life and trying to lose weight and still maintain our good grades.

So post your stats and we'll introduce outselves and support each other on this super hard journey.

I know that normal weight for someone 5'10 is 150 pounds. but I have a small frame. And I just don't look as skinny as I should. I also want to be able to run without getting tired, I'm rather lazy and don't do anything. I want to get out of it. Be Active and such.I hope to start going to a  gym soon.

my goal is to be 155 by the beginning of june.

and i could really use peoples help as well because i'm sick of people telling me to stop dieting and that i look good.  but i know i don't want to live like this forever.

I'm Nicole.

I'm 21...started gaining weight in college.

Height: 5'5

Weight:130 (I'm fluctuating between 125-130...I can't manage to keep off the weight I lose...I just binge eat the following week and gain it all back. :(

Goal: 110 (by May/June)

I have a very small frame.

My problems:

I binge eat a lot.

I love cookies, breads, cereals, granola bars..etc

I haven't been able to do exercise for 2 weeks with a foot injury. Hoping to start getting active again.

Not constant with dieting. But going to try to stick with the 1200 calories a day...and 1500 when exercising.

Goals:

Tone up...get my pre-college athletic/toned body (104lbs) back.

Target my thighs and love handles. 

 

Wow.. looking at some of you guys it seems like you dont really need to lose weight. I have let myself get to overboard over the years.

 Don't be so down on yourself!! You can lose weight. Don't fret, I'm sure your pretty ethier way :D

It may not be that I need to lose weight to be considered healthy, but I need to lose weight to feel comfortable as well as for swimming (i carry too much extra weight that slows me down).

You're posting on another board that you have serious depressive/self-harm/suicidal tendencies and skewed body-image issues.   Your target of 125lbs is a very, very low weight whereas 159lbs is perfectly healthy & normal for someone your age and height. http://www.kidsnutrition.org/bodycomp/bmiz2.h tml   My concern is that if you cut your calorie intake in order to lose weight you will find that only makes your depression worse.  Nutrition and cognitive function are linked.... if your body is malnourished, your brain will play tricks on you.  As well as echoing previous advice to see a doctor urgently I think you should now stop dieting - it poses far too great a risk to your health.

Goal Date: Prom, which is 25 June, maybe even before then if I can.. and then maintain weight afterwards.

I haven't cut my eating down, I haven't needed to. I'm a vegeatarin and I don't eat that bad. I'm just trying to work out more. I"m just fine. Thank you for your concern.

This is the perfect thread for me, because for once, I'm actually trying to look good before summer. I want to not be self conscious about myself when I'm in a swimsuit. I'm hoping to actually wear a bikini this year and actually swim with my friends. It will be great if I can get there...

Little goals: Stop yo yo dieting!

I know 100 seems kind of low, but I have a very small frame and i used to weigh 107 which was perfect for me... however, i still had the problem of belly fat. I get bored of crunches, sit ups, etc.

I think dieting is my best bet until i've lost most of the belly fat then i'll start working out to tone up. This is my goal anyway.

 I'm trying to lose 20 pounds by summer as well and yes! I do dread summer holidays! I am never happy with how I look and I'm constantly comparing myself to other people. I'm supposed to be going to Florida this week and instead of being happy I'm miserable!! I'm terrified actually. Panama city, AH! Way too many PERFECT GIRLS in BIKINIS!

now: 198 lbs (yuck! lol)

goal: 175 lbs (for now, hopefully down to 160 lbs by the time college starts in fall)

Little goals:

  • more cardio (running, walking, stairs etc. - i have a weight training class at school, so I would be toned without the fat, lol.)
  • log my calories every day and keep down to 1600 or so
  • stick with it! don't give up
  • don't obsess over the mirrior, but know I will be healthier and happier with less weight to lug around everywhere
  • less snacking just to snack
