Group to train for the Lewis & Clark Half or Full marathon in September!!!
I am planning on training for the Lewis & Clark marathon in September and thought it would be fun to get a group going on cc for others that want to do the same. If you have never ran/walked a half marathon I encourage you to try it, it takes time and effort but the results are awesome!! and it feels amazing to cross that finish line. I lost 25 pounds when i did my first half and when i started i couldn't even run half a mile without stopping. If you are just starting to run/walk this is a great goal to work towards and you should have enough time to train and succeed by September.

I do not suggest buying one of the fleet feet training programs available through the website, but to check out some of the free training programs online, hal higdon offers free printable training schedules for all levels of runners and walkers and he offers a large amount of advice on training.

Me too. This will be my fourth half marathon. I tried to do this last year but Hurricane Ike really caused a mess. I need to lose about 25 - 30 pounds and am serious about training to get under 2 hours, so I know losing the weight will help. I have used the Hal Higdon and Jeff Galloway training programs and really prefer the Higdon. Rest days are really important and I like that they are scheduled for Monday and Friday. Of course, you can tailor them to fit your schedule.
