You can grow your eyelash???
Any feed back is appreciated. I just wanted some longer eyelash :)
you can get eyelash extensions, is that what you mean? otherwise, mascaras and products that promise longer looking lashes have been on the market forever.
as someone born with very long lashes, i can promise you that they're not as awesome to actually have as you may think. think crushing them against your sunglasses every time you blink :/
funny you mention this because just today we were talking about eyelash extensions and someone at work said they take 3 hours to do and only last 6 months....no thanks
then she goes, "do you know you never get new eyelashes like you do hair?" so, when they fall out new ones don't grow. so i would never do that and take the chance of them pulling out my eyelashes"
REALLY??? seems far fetched to me...she was like "haven't you ever noticed that old people don't have eyelashes? that's why"
now i never REALLY looked into an old persons eyes that close before so i really couldn't call her on it. but really??
anyone else heard of this?
then she goes, "do you know you never get new eyelashes like you do hair?"
If eyelashes never grew back, I would have almost none.
Mine fall out constantly and when I pull on them a little to untwist them or to fix a clump of mascara, some always come out. I don't have a massive amount of eyelashes, so I know they have to be growing back as I've been pulling them out on accident (or on purpose if they're bent into my eye) for I don't even know how long.
I've never heard of eyelashes never growing back. My grandparents all have eyelashes. Trust me, you notice when someone doesn't have eyelashes. It's like looking at a person without eyebrows. It's obvious almost immediately with most people, even the elderly.

That's an old wives tale. Old people tend to have less body hair as they age. Eyelashes do take a long time to grow back out to length though.
You can also damage the root of the hairs whether it be head, eyelash, eyebrow, etc. so that it doesn't grow back very well or at all. This happened to my eyebrows.
I was a teen in the early 70's. The style was for girls to have very thinly plucked eyebrows. I naturally don't have much body hair. I kept plucking my eyebrows and often would pull out the root. I barely have eyebrows at all. What is there is very blonde, so I have to color them in. When I tell people the story of why I have almost no eyebrows they're usually pretty amazed.
Very weird.
But no, I wasn't talking about eyelash extensions. I use mascara myself but I just wanted my eyelashes more .. full, i guess. My eyelashes are long enough that they touch my glasses but heh I got used to it. These are gels that you apply daily and supposedly they make your lashes longer/fuller/stronger. Some of them are rather costly ($100 for a tiny bottle) and the fact that it's really near my eye makes me nervous so I decided to ask here since there are lots of people.

One of the cycle stages is growth and no product will extend the growth period. There is also a period in which the hair remains but is dormant when growth has stopped.
As far as stronger, you can only hope to reduce the premature loss of lashes (particularly before theyve fully grown) by not sleeping in mascara and not being rough with them like gently removing eye makeup and avoiding rubbing your eyes..
There are definitely mascaras with fibers which do attach to lashes, causing them to be longer until you remove it. It be tricky as it doesnt universally lengthen all the lashes, just the ones they attach to plus they can look clumpy. I suspect though removing such mascara could be rough on the lashes themselves so I'd be extra gentle if trying it.
