grrr.... acne

I am having a bad breakout right now, most likely stress (finals) related b/c totm shouldn't be coming for another two and a half weeks and my diet has very healthy/nongreasy as of late. anyway, this made me wonder: At what age does one generally stop getting breakouts? I never really thought about this before but I am def not a teenager anymore so shouldn't i stop getting acne soon? For those older than me, when did you stop getting acne?

(Or if anyone else wants to share their acne frustrations feel free...)

I was reading online that adult acne may be caused by CANDIDA which appears to be an infection that those who take antibiotics are sometimes prone to.  If you do a google search for CANDIDA and acne a bunch of message boards and articles come up.

I'm 27 and my acne has been worse than when I was a teen.  I tried all sorts of over-the-counter things over the span of a couple years that only sort of helped. 

Once I got health insurance, I finally went to the doctor and he put me on oral antibiotics--that really helped.

 

My anti - acne routine:

1) Wash face with antibacterial soap morning, afternoon, and evening

2) DRINK LOTS OF WATER

3) Avoid junk food

4) Slap some max strength zit cream on problem spots under makeup and on your face at night

5) Clay mask once a week

6) No touching, no scratching.

i didn't think my acne was too bad, but then i got my reg check up and my doc was like, "woah, that needs help" lol

i'm on Dianne 35 birth control and GE Minocylcine Antibiotic. i've just started so haven't really seen results yet.

i'm 17 and acne runs in my family. hopefully my face will clear soon :D
