Grrr the last 5 lbs.
are going to kill me!
I previously weighed 130 lbs and my goal is 115. I was 118 before I left for vacation. When I got back 4 days later I had lost another 2 lbs, putting me at 116 (which would make sense because I worked my butt off exercising). So I was excited to be one lb away from my goal.
Well I get back to school a couple days later, and I weigh 119. What gives? I have not changed anything. For the past month I have yo-yo'd in between 120 and 115. I just want to reach my goal and I know it is not too small. I still have rolls of belly fat!!!
Any one have any similar situations?
I am frustrated beyond belief!!!! ![]()
I have been in this situation for MONTHS now. Up a few pounds, back down a few pounds, up 4 pounds, down 5 pounds but always at least 5 pounds away from my goal! I am being careful except for a few days here & there and I am exercising at least 4 times a week, sometimes 6! I'm pretty frustrated myself so I know exactly how you feel. What I don't know is how to fix it! I've tried zig-zagging, eating more, eating less, changing up my exercise routing, etc. NADA!
It's probably just variations in water retention. Our bodies can fluctuate 5 pounds in a day, much less a week. Do 3 days of carb depletion, with almost no sodium, and drink upwards of 2 gallons of water per day, and see if you don't dump the last of that fluid. But, because our bodies want balance, even the slighted sodium intake, and fluid depletion, will put some back, so be ready.
I have the same issue,
I am 127/126 (well my scale says either of those numbers in between every day it changes)
And I want to get to 125, then 115. But just getting to 125 is damn hard.
I am doing the zig zag calories this week, and I work out already 5-6x a week cardio and strength training. *shrugs*
Good luck.
Something has got to work.
I feel your pain. I was 1 lb away from goal, now I am 7 lbs because I have been really badly behaved since the new year. The last 5 lbs are the toughest to get off and keep off. I am looking for motivation anywhere I can find it.
you should be only weighing yourself once a week on the same day at same time. When I go to the gym on Saturday morning that is the day I weigh in. I see it move that day. When I go to the gym on Sunday I still weigh in to see what it says. Sometimes it says I gained 5 pounds in 24 hours. not possible. Pick one day a week and weigh yourself that day and measure your weight loss by that day. this is the only way you will be able to tell if you are losing weight. I read this in a fitness magazine also. it makes sense.
I weigh myself every morning. I read a report on weighing yourself and many doctors said that weighing yourself every day is a fine practice, and I feel like it works best for me. I will try to eat super healthy (and no indulgent snacks) if my weight is up a smidge, and I may have that Hershey's kiss if I am at a good place.
I am trying to add different cardio exercises to get rid of those last 5! But it's hard!
I, too, feel your pain! I've just had to accept that the four pound gain I've seen on the scale recently isn't just an anomaly of water weight. My situation is compounded by my age (49) I believe. I've been tracking my intake and appear to be averaging a weekly deficit.
I think my burn rate is lower than the CC calculator gives and that means if I'm to stay above 1200 cals it will take me 2 1/2 WEEKS to lose ONE pound. That's without exercise above a sedentary lifestyle. Obviously, I've just got to get movin' more!
I think no matter our age, consistancy is SOO important and yet so hard when we get to the last few pounds. Stay strong!
