grrrr... another zit! no acne until I started losing weight!

Quote  |  Reply

My skin looks amazing... except for the acne that has all of a sudden started.  About two weeks into my weight loss I have not been without at least one zit somewhere...

I sure hope this stops...

Anyone else have this issue when they started dieting eating healthy and exercising?

I had the opposite problem. When I was younger, during that whole puberty time when you're more prone to get acne, my face was pretty darn clear. I'd get a zit or two at a time, pop 'em, and then be clear for another week until another 1 or 2 showed up. It was easy to manage.

But then I hit adulthood.. and it went downhill.

But I do think it worsened after I started dieting, I dunno why! Undecided I make sure to wash my face after workouts so the oil/sweat doesn't sink into my pores. I wanna say it's what I'm eating, but I can't pinpoint any certain category of foods. I'd like to believe that eating fruit & veggies is beneficial for the skin, not the other way around! LOL

I have had the same experience with acne. Normally I have clear skin and then when I started eating healthy and exercising all of a sudden I am breaking out like crazy. I don't know what caused this to happen, but it only lasted about 2 months. The biggest thing that I have done is to make absolutly sure that after every workout that I clean my face. Also I started using an acne facial scrub in the showers (which is weird for me because even in high school I had pretty clear skin). One of my theories (besides the obvious of more sweat=more bacteria) is that when you do anything different to your body (like change your diet) it kind of stresses out and when you have stress your body makes zits. I don't really know, but I am glad that my skin has cleared up!!! Good luck with yours!

Hey!

I too had the opposite effect. Once I cut out carbonated drinks and a lot of processed/greasy/non healthy food my face looked great (make up always helps..) anyway, my entire life I had horrible acne and I have some scars i like to refer to as my battle scars. If you can a great product to use is Neutrogena's on the spot acne 8 hour gel or something like that. I can't live without this.

just a though to help with those pesky pimples.

i dont really know how long you have been on cc losing, but it could be due to the fact that the water you are drinking is flushing out all of the dirt, bacteria, and toxins out of your skin.  I went through that for about a month or so and my skin cleared up fantastically.  Even my nails aren't thin and brittle anymore...

Once you start doing something healthy for your body such as exercise and eating clean, un processed foods, a lot of people break out due to all the bad things being eliminated from your body.

If you go clean out your body then I suppose all the bad stuff has to escape through your skin ! I am not a scientist but a lot of people break out when they first start to eat better and exercise more.

Also, if you burn yourself out by doing too much exercise then it is quiet common for the skin to suffer break outs so remember to work hard but learn your limits!

Any more then 1 hour intense cardio ( like running at a moderate pace) a day can be too much for a lot of people

Oh, and make sure you ate eating enough to fuel your exercise! Not taking in enough nutrients can also burn your body out and cause break outs!

You are probably sweating more since increasing your exercise.  Therefore you're washing your face more often.  The increase in washing stimulates your skin to produce more oil leading to outbreaks.  (imho)

I have always had amazing skin until losing weight also!! So annoying :(

Agreed - excercising made me start breaking out big time.  I am going to start washing before and after and see if that helps.  Good luck!
